MTJ Posted June 20, 2020 at 08:18 PM Posted June 20, 2020 at 08:18 PM Or a special anniversary release like D'eux, remastered with demos and extras. I'm sure there is plenty more interesting things to see and hear than what was contained in the sessions special. 3 Quote
actofcontrition Posted June 20, 2020 at 09:23 PM Posted June 20, 2020 at 09:23 PM Next year is the 25th of Falling into you. We should start now demanding to sony a real collector with bonus track and the dvd of a stadium show. 2 Quote

And a concert bluray with the same picture and sound quality as the A new day bluray.Wow that would be christmas! Btw I think LTAL deserves an SACD version. Since FIY has got it I think it's strange that LTAL hasn't since it is one of her best selling albums. Edited June 21, 2020 at 08:39 AM by sebulba 1 Quote < >
PuraVida Posted June 21, 2020 at 10:07 AM Posted June 21, 2020 at 10:07 AM Is the song MHWGO special in any way in a musical sense? Like, I can't put my finger on it, but it sounds much different from any song of Celine's I can think of. Is it the time signature, or something about the key change? Maybe it's just that you don't hear a lot of songs with the flute/whistle recorder you hear in that song... Hmmm. 2 Quote

Maybe it's just that you don't hear a lot of songs with the flute/whistle recorder you hear in that song... Hmmm. I always wonder about it as well. It is so simple yet so magnificient. I think there are only a few notes (I am not a musician, so cannot be sure about the correct terms). Like, "Every night..." - "Love can touch us..." and "Near, far..." - "You're here..." are two primary themes that sound the same with different speed. I must confess I don't like the soundtrack version, but absolutely adore the album version of MHWGO. I think drums reminds me of heart beating, so maybe it has some psycological effect on listeners because we all have hearts, and probably heard our mothers' heart beat when in the womb. The flute is also magical In addition, I would add that Celine's voice in MHWGO is probably my favorite one of all her career. It sounds so delicate, soft, and beautiful at the beginning, yet so strong during the climax. She never had that voice in the live versions of MHWGO though . I think the closest one was during special in 2002. But in most of her 1998 and 1999 performances of MHWGO her voice was very different from the album version. 2 Quote

It definitely gets super hard at the end, indeed. Edited June 25, 2020 at 01:09 PM by PuraVida Quote

But thanks for your vote! It definitely gets super hard at the end, indeed. Well, It’s still a belt. There’s no low belting. It’s always high. And you do that at the very beginning. Unlike the other song. You have more time to prepare your voice for the climax high belted notes. Edited June 25, 2020 at 02:38 PM by jpatdeleon09 Quote
SuperLove4Celine Posted June 26, 2020 at 12:00 AM Posted June 26, 2020 at 12:00 AM “When I Need You” requires a crap ton of restraint so as not to over-sing it. It’s a tough thing to do. This is something Celine gets right here. “Love Is On The Way” is pretty straightforward. Quote

Hmmm.I remember an interview, can't exactly remember who it was, but I think it was James Horner or that Walter guy who produced many of Celine albums. He said the music was influenced from classical music and rock so the song would not to be one run of the mill ballad. You clearly hear the string orchestra and the electric guitar is present at some point. Maybe it's that that differs from many other Celine songs. The electric guitar in mhwgo is really good and turns the song into a more "serious" song. If I'm not wrong it can be better heard in the all the way dvd video with the alternate sound setting. The guitar is also what makes Think Twice different from the other Celine's songs and it's what saves the Loved Me Back To Life bad arrangement towards the end of the song. I feel the opposite about the electric guitar in MHWGO — I think it cheapens the song tremendously...... that, along with the cheesy background singers singing “WHY does the heart go on”. What does that even mean!? No one would ever seriously say “my heart will go on” in real life, and even if they did, certainly no one has ever questioned “why” lol. The orchestral version from the movie is my favourite. I also like the unreleased demo version because it’s almost a cappella: Quote

jpatdeleon09 Posted June 27, 2020 at 07:17 PM Posted June 27, 2020 at 07:17 PM Isn’t the story of MHWGO is Céline sang this song on studio in acapella then James Horner made an orchestral instrumentals for the recorded vocals of Céline. I’m sure James said that before... 1 Quote
