Happy 20th birthday #LetsTalkAboutLove! Can't believe it's been 20 years since I got the album that solidified me as a fan for life! My favorite tracks have to be The Reason, Immortality, Treat Her Like A Lady, To Love You More, I Hate You Then I Love You, LTAL, and of course, MHWGO. #GreatTimes

New Signature Coming Soon!

20 years . . gosh, I feel old! I remember this so clearly! VH1 had a special on LTAL and I taped it and watched it over and over and over -- loving the clips from Immortality and the AMAZING video they had of MHWGO. It was like the video we all know, but there were no clips showing Celine -- it was just movie clips straight through. So intense and emotional. I think this was the VH1 to One special where she wore a turtleneck, though I don't think I've ever seen that one on the Internet.

But I kept watching that special, waiting until my mom could drive me to the record store to get the album. And it was a couple of weeks before we could go . . I remember the wait feeling sooo long. And it was sooo amazing to finally get the album. No instant Internet gratification back then. (Like I said, I'm old).

I am probably one of the rare (if not the only one) here who doesn't really like the cover. I always found Céline's photo too photoshoped. She looks like she's been made of plastic and she barely looks like her.

I don't really like the cover either. Her face looks much too perfect, and I agree she looks like she's made of plastic. I also found the whole thing too dark. My favorite album covers are for TAST and FIY.

I feel the dark theme of the photos fit the mood of the album.

To Love You More doesn't belong to this album, actually it doesn't really belong to any album. If only, it has more right to be part of FIY than LTAL, according to the date when it was released (late 1995).

It's interesting that she called LTAL "Album of her life", because I think FIY is still her best english work and deserved Album of the year 1996.

I understand that for her personally LTAL has more meaning. It opened a lot of door because of the success of FIY.

I think they could pick songs a bit more selective (where FIY has much more album fillers) and the collaborations are a lot more impressive. The artists she sings duets with probably made her very happy too. I think it's also the album of her life ;)

This album LTAL marked a time, a generation, I still remember when it was released, I was crazy wanting to have it at home, but I was a teenager and I only bought it about 2 months after the release. Here in my country in Brazil he was a success, he spent on TV the special "Celine Dion and Friends" which is the making off of the album, with some scenes from the FIY toured shows in Europe and some clips.

It was a special moment, magical, not even with the release of FIY I had felt it. Céline was everywhere, a pity not to have a recorded concert of this tour.

lol I am so glad I'm not the only person who feels old as heck because this album is 20 now. Wow. Yikes! Like, seriously? Where did the time go? I feel soooooooo old right now. This is the first album of her I ever had. I heard the infamous titanic song on the radio which is partly why I internally groan when people say, oh you mean that lady who sang the titanic song? I really have to hold my tongue because what I really wanna say is not too kind. lol anyway, when I got it for my sweet sixteen in 1999 I thought it was relatively new. Only later did I realize that it was indeed her newest/latest, but not all that new and, that all the way would come out very soon. That's what I got for Christmas that year by the way. I do also wonder why she calls this album the album of her life, but considering the success of my heart will go on, I guess I am not all that surprised. I also did not know that Love is on the way was a remake. I had never thought of it before as Gospel, but it actually is and yes I loved those tweets someone shared. Whoever tweeted about love is on the way is sooooo right.

Must admit I've been wondering how her career would have gone if she hadn't sang that demo. She wouldn't have recorded the album and would have had her break when she wanted it. Wonder what decisions would have been made etc.

To Love You More to me originally belongs on The Colour of My Love, even if it were just included on the Japanese re-release of the album. But I think it fits very well on Let's Talk About Love, better than any other album except All The Way.

I always had the European version of Let's Talk About Love, which didn't have To Love You More. Now though, I have everything in my iTunes library where everything is sorted perfectly. :giggle:

Well for starters there wouldn’t have been that water screen  but seriously though. It seriously wouldn’t have been as big as it was I don’t think. She would’ve gone on her break and then who knows what. I’ve often wondered if Vegas would still have happened/would it have been as big.

It's so sad that we live in the digital age now and that no special edition of this album was released for the 20th anniversary. This is such a huge album in her career and all we get are some facebook posts. Did the Legacy releases die at the hand of the digital age?

The Celine Dion Show.

"I'm Celine Dion and I'm the greatest singer in the world" :sofunny:

This parody summed up the Celine hype at that time.

I remember that one!

Funny, but I was expecting the album to be called The Reason as CDIFC announced few months before. No internet at the time lol.

Also in that letter 'I hate you then I love you' was titled 'Never never never'.

If I am remember correctly on the cover of 'Tell him' was written: From the forthcoming album 'The reason'.

That's because the song is called Never Never Never lol

I remember Shirley Bassey singing years before Celine.

True! Here I found the original announcement letter from the Fan Club. Strange, it was so easy to find it in my drawers. I only wish I could say the same for my document from the bank that I'm searching for weeks :Db131ea58c8bd878aaca631093be57edf.jpg
