New English Album - "Water and a Flame" (Pre-Release Thread Part 1)

Let's be realistic, the lead single has to represent the style of the whole album, so, if they surprise us with the new songs being uptempo, I doubt one of them will be the first single 'cause it wouldn't represent the concept of the record. I imagine we'll get a ballad as the first single (It would be the first time since I'm Your Angel). Or maybe they give as an uptempo single with 0 promo (like You And I back in 2004).

I want original or new songs, not covers we've heard a million times, not songs she done already and re-recorded or re-released a million times on the other albums. Can't we get some songs she HASN'T done a dozen times already? or that aren't in the Vegas show and sung a dozen and a half times over and over....

Whatever the songs will be I really hope for great production when it comes to arrangements, instruments and sound. Céline has for too long been surrounded with "safe" booring arrangements that leaves you quite blank and no fresh impressing sounds and instruments. When was last time? Was it the ANDHC radio remix? I can't remember...

Anyone who hopes for February release of the first single off the new album, I'm telling you NOT A CHANCE. If they continue working on the album at that pace, I'm quite sure we can expect the English album being pushed for autumn release (since she's in Vegas from June 9 to August 19). I don't even want to mention the French album and when we're going to get it.

Althought the release of album has been delayed again I believe (hope) that when Céline already began recording and continue of recording is scheduled, album will be out before summer, even if what we learn from interviews in recent months is not very positive, sometimes it seems they are talking about same things over one year.

I feel like i wanna anti-this album already (if this is a cover album).....

Feel like we almost waiting about five years but just a cover album.....

WTF.....Very disappointed and depresses...just waste the talent of the producer and the celine voice

 

I saw a lot of producers and writers always keep create new material,new lyrics and new song for celine.....But Rene didn't choose instead of choosing cover.......I feel that at the end of the day, when there's no any producer wanna do album for her....then she will quit the music industry already :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

Me too!!! I'd rather Celine came up with the first single that would be a mix of pop and R&B, something like "Better in Time" by Leona Lewis (i love that beat, Celine should try similar staff)

My main theory about the nosense of recording covers (apart from their usual obsession with them throughout all her career since day 1) is that they will probably want that, after the show ends each night, people may want to look for the recorded songs in an CD, so I guess that's why they are insisting with recording these covers.

 

BUT like you say, this is NO excuse for not giving the fans a full album of originals. It's been about time for that. And also, if they wanted to give those people & fans attending the show in Vegas an album with some of the songs performed in the show, they can always release a LIVE CD of the show (it's not necessary to record them in studio versions). They could have done that by now, and release a brand new album with new songs now. But of course, they will wait 'till the end of the show to milk everybody's money, that's their aim :glare:

Agree again. And the way René has been answering in the recent interviews with the Olympics thing and the new album is not helping. But do you think Céline would allow that to happen? Over her dead body!

the lead single may represent the whole album, they can release a double side an uptempo and a ballad at same time, since they do good videos

 

last time they give up after taking chances flop, but with FIY they tried with a 2nd single, and with TCOML the 1st single didn't have much attention on it, speacilly in Europe

I feel she is more excited for Rene being in a movie than her own recording career. That cd is just part of the agreement with Sony. Not spend too much time on it since it has not much importance so it seems..

I'm stunned by all this mystery surrounding the album. It seems that they don't have a clue about how to go about these upcoming albums and remind the public of Celine Dion as a brilliant recording artist, not only a glamorous celebrity and working mother of three who tries to balance her personal life with professional life as a singer.

The fact of the matter is, they don't care about the albums because there is no money in it anymore. Vegas fills their pockets, so that is why she stays there. sad as it is, but it is true. Not that I think she really is a moneyminded person at all, maybe Rene? They already live like a king and queen with their in greek style monster house in Florida and the new mansion in Vegas. And how much does one night playing in Vegas pay off? I don't know,, anyone knows?

Because she doesn't wanna tour or record. If she really wanted to record she could. She has all the help in the world like Claudette said, she only does 70 shows a year in Vegas. She has had the time to record an album by now I think.

Honestly, I hate to say it and I wasn't going to.... but if she wants to be a mother so bad then she should quit singing and stay at home. She's made it clear that's what she prefers and that's what she wants to be doing instead of performing or recording. Yes Vegas is good money for her but eventually that is going to end.
