These covers could easily be produced by Humberto Gatica, cos they bring nothing new anyway!

Seriously... I thought Baby Face was a sign that they were going in an R&B direction... I don't see the point of getting him just to do a cover.

 

Unless, of course, we get the album and At Seventeen suddenly has a hip-hop beat to it.

 

But no, seriously... I really hope he at least helped her push the song in a fresh direction if nothing else. No, I don't really want it to sound like "My Humps." I'd just like to hear a newer interpretation of it by her that she can really sink herself into emotionally. After singing it so much this past year, I imagine it'd be quite easy to lapse into an uninspired rehash for the album... And we all know she's capable of far more than that... Especially with a song that she relates to so intimately.

So if 2 have been recorded and we have seen a photo Of Babyface in the recording studio we know that At Seventeen is one of them so it's a fair bet Open Arms is the other. Let's hope the next sessions get more creative.

Honestly... As much as I want a fresh, ANDHC style album... I would still kill myself to get an album of Céline singing those songs... Just because it's Céline and her voice is... magical...

 

But I really want to remember what 2002 felt like... ANDHC made me feel so... Alive.

I didn't really think it was going to take a complete R&B direction. But I did think maybe he would infuse a little R&B flavor into the album, which would still fit in with the "nightgown" concept. One of Babyface's most recent collaborations was with Beyonce on "Best Thing I Never Had" (

) hence the R&B comment.

 

I actually didn't know he produced Power of the Dream. Interesting!

As we know pencilled in dates get rubbed out and re written all the time when it comes to her releases, so we'll just have to wait and see again with this album.

So much for getting excited about Baby Face being one of the producers. I give up, really I do. I don't know what to say anymore. I think we might as well accept the fact that it is gonna be an album with gazillion year old songs.

BTW, we should expect a new single in early February or around Valentine's Day (i.e. we got 'Et S'il N'en Restait Qu'une' on Valentine's Day and 'D'Elles' on May).

now I have really lost my hopes for this album and I hope it will be a flop so that they could finally realise they're going in the wrong direction!

postponing. Great it was already predicted.. it's so funny because they're recording mostly covers and show songs and they are again postponing it. Then I don't get why the fact the French album will be released so soon. It's not good to release both of them almost at the same time. Then at least one of them won't get almost any promotion.

And such a producer for AS? that's a joke. I think that if it's too soon for her to record she may as well another year than rush things and do such 'thing''

Mmmm... I think this "news" about the album are not really soo new and actually from the same date we got that photo with Babyface...

And, if René said she has recorded 4 or 5 songs before January, maybe in this article they're talking about 2 more songs that have been recorded in Vegas after they got back from vacations...

I did understand they recorded 4/5 but now they seem they don't really know at all what this album is going be about. They should focus on the French album and rethink the concept of the English one. It's such a mess!

I accept that she wants (or HER TEAM WANTS HER TO DO) an "evening-gown" album with a classic style, ok, that's nice, but it's Celine Dion!! After two years and half as a fan of hers I learnt a lot of things and all that, but SHE HAS TO COME BACK WITH A MODERN ALBUM!! C'mon Celine, why don't you do this?? It's not that hard! Just call your friends Shakira and Beyoncé (with whom you have performed in the past) and let them teach you a couple of things here and there. (I'm not talking about the voice or the technique, I'm talking about ways to get a name again)

 

I can see Celine topping the charts again with a power ballad, just like Adele is doing right now in the UK, Celine should do all over the world!!

In this new interview says that the song Open Arms, At seventeen Sun Te and Ne Pas Me (If Go Away), vain are on the new album, this CD is more like classical music and jazz.

Maybe we should just be patient, remember, once it's out we will probably wait another 5+ years for a new (english) album.

Maybe it's too soon to say this as we don't have much information about this upcoming album, but all this mystery surrounding the concept of the album (if there is any concept) is making me start believing that Celine is loosing motivation, not caring too much about the new stuff that's coming. I hope I'm wrong guys, but that's what it looks like. René is always the one who reveals the new details, Celine is never 100% sure about them, she always has to ask René. And yes, I know she always said that she leaves it all up to her manager (IT'S HER MANAGER AFTER ALL) but she should show to us that she cares a bit more about her music.
