ferjaacu Posted January 2, 2012 at 03:34 AM Posted January 2, 2012 at 03:34 AM (edited) I have a question... Can somebody please tell me where have the rumour about a duet with Laura Pausini started?? I'd love them to sing a duet Edit: Heather, I agree with you... Maybe some fans can have some dissapointment when the new albun is released, I'd understand if somebody was expecting something that didn't happen after all and then complain about it or express his/her opinions But we need to wait until the album is out And I also agree that they could wait and talk about the releasing dates until they are sure about them, but we don't know exactly why is that they changed them after all Edited January 2, 2012 at 03:39 AM by ferjaacu http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3216/5786913948_369265dbeb_m.jpg FERLO
dj4celine Posted January 2, 2012 at 11:02 AM Posted January 2, 2012 at 11:02 AM I don't think that age matters that much nowadays! Madonna is 10 years older than Celine is and she is on top of her game! I am amazed when I see Madonna's concerts! Most of the songs she sings are from her latest albums because, simply, she has new hit songs or what Celine calls 'signature songs'! Madonna and Celine are two different artists. Being a Celine fan, I envy Madonna's success when it comes to radio & chart success but at the same time, it's great that Celine has not gone to such extremes. But maybe a little reinvention wouldn't hurt her career. Also, radio and to some extent, chart success are inversely proportional to age. Older an artist gets, they get very less success. But of course, there have been many exceptions. Celine will always shift album numbers but can't say the same about the quality because almost all her english albums have so many fillers that it just brings the quality down. And not to mention, the dreary ballads and covers being released every single time as singles Anyways, I'd keep my mouth shut from now on until I listen to the album but at the same time, have very low expectations. But yet at the same time, she is doing "Lullaby" in the show and it's a pretty depressing song. If she would have put a little more effort into "This Time," it would have been a real eye opener and a great song. Though, I completley understand why she didn't want to do the song because Celine has never deal with spousal abuse. "My Love," I believe was finally a song between Rene and herself, Linda Perry even said she wanted Celine raw and emotional during the recording of the song. Am I the only one who hasn't found "My Heart Will Go On," depressing? It's a sad song, but I have always felt it kinda up lifting myself. She should dig deeper into the human pathos more than just singing about the colourful overtones.
Shaun Posted January 2, 2012 at 11:14 AM Posted January 2, 2012 at 11:14 AM Madonna and Celine are two different artists. The problem is that Celine has attempted to update her sound over the past 10 years. She had great success with it with "A New Day Has Come" and "I'm Alive" and the second they decided to release "Goodbye's The Saddest Word" as a single it was like Celine stepped back in time and no-one was interested. Following that with the decision to reside in Vegas then the battle to get the music out became ever harder however good a reinvention was but even when they were there they recorded songs such as "Reveal" which was a very current sound at the time, even written by Cathy Dennis who was having huge success with Kylie at the time, but again they left it as an album track never to be released as a single. They update her sound but let nobody hear it. Even when they left Vegas and had a fairly current album to come back with in "Taking Chances" with lots of options that would've updated Celine's sound with songs such as "Can't Fight The Feeling" or "Eyes On Me" and even "Fade Away." Instead they decided to promote that release with "Taking Chances" and "Alone" and although they had moderate success with "Taking Chances" they once again let Celine step back in time by getting her to promote "Alone" - nothing new, nobody was interested and voila no radio or tv will play it. Would it really have been so hard to come back with an original song after 5 years? Someone somewhere is making these decisions. Is it Rene? Is it Sony? Davey84 Posted January 2, 2012 at 11:29 AM Posted January 2, 2012 at 11:29 AM Good point Shaun I read an article that Can't Get You Out Of My Head was played the most the last decade, and yes that one was also written by Cathy Dennis. If they had released that song (after properly releasing IDAN in the UK) then it might have been a hit aswell... But yeah she did reinvent herself somewhat on her albums, but the wrong songs were released and the real gems were ignored (RIFOY, IS, WTWOLYR) (R, N, F) (AM, CN was released way too late), (SOL, FA, CFTF, SS), (AC, screwed up release, LTQQ) etc... It all comes back to song choices: the same old same old for 10 years now during concerts, the wrong single choices and the lack of good videos. In 2007 Céline and her team should have actually listened to their first single; What do you say to taking chances? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

Just believable what I read on this forum Me too!!! It is almost disgusting....
Bell Posted January 2, 2012 at 11:43 AM Posted January 2, 2012 at 11:43 AM the wrong songs were released and the real gems were ignoredI totally agree. I think this is the problem with many of her albums. That's why most people around the world recognize Celine only as a ballad singer. There is so much more beyond the ballads but people just don't know it and it's Celine/her team to blame. 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER

Celine Fan 77 Posted January 2, 2012 at 12:22 PM Posted January 2, 2012 at 12:22 PM I know, she loves to dance as well, she likes to make people dance, she said it during the recording session for Eyes On Me back in 2007. If she loved making people dance, she would have performed songs like A Cause more often. She might believe that LCMM and RDMH are enough. dj4celine Posted January 2, 2012 at 01:44 PM Posted January 2, 2012 at 01:44 PM Totally agree with everything you said, Shaun. It's really saddening to see where we see a decline in everything related to Celine - be it music industry's interest in her, Celine's interest in the music industry, fans' interest in her work & most strikingly, the general public's interest in her. Some don't even know that she is still alive. Very sad! yeah but the funny thing is, Céline herself said in 2002: I am not only a ballad singer And in 2012, she'll say, "I'm not only a singer but a mother and a Vegas shimmy shimmy showgirl. Diapers & money is where my heart is! Anyone got Huggies?"
squirebuffy Posted January 2, 2012 at 01:49 PM Posted January 2, 2012 at 01:49 PM I always thought it was totally wrong they released Call The Man as a single and with a video over Dreaming Of You or Make You Happy which are amazing midtempos that show Celine in a much 'cooler' light musically. Call The Man was just like the rest of the ballads and wasnt single material or radio friendly.

I agree with so many different point of views from you all in here. That I could be selfish when I want her to do this and that and that Celine always worked hard to get this beautiful career. But as soon as I heard... Vegas.. again I was like... not again! I don't thing Celine is a moneyminded person but this vegas show sure is a big big moneymaker. Only thing I hope is that she will change the show to adjust it to its title - which is - Celine - and bring back more Celine songs in the show, possibly great new ones or the ones we have never heard live. And hope this all leads to a perfect Celine show that will be even more perfectly registrated on bluray and dvd in the end. And in the meantime I sure hope she is gonna release some mindblowing albums.. to start with the upcoming 2012 album. And maybe just maybe she will do a minitour in Europe ( including Amsterdam) Then I must be there! Some of us , including me, can be harsh but we say what is on our minds and if we did not care for Celine we would not discuss the issue on this forum so much. I come visiting this forum almost everyday, because I love to hear everything Celine is involved now and I am very interested in other's opinions. We learn from each other. I see it each day. Sometimes I write down something in here, and someone reacts and I am like, yes you are right, maybe I look to things to black and white. But that is one of the things why I love this forum! Sharing everything with each other because we all have one thing in common; our dedication and being of a fan of the biggest female singer in the world! Seen you read my posts well (kidding ) Looks like they don't want to change Celine's image as an artist; she'll always be the power-ballad singer.I think I've heard/read somewhere that they stick to the old sound, old routines, old songs because her fans can't handle change. That the fans expect her to be the only thing in their lives to be constant as it always has been. I think that's a lame excuse to stay in the comfort zone. yeah but the funny thing is, Céline herself said in 2002: I am not only a ballad singer Yea but by the actions this is very contradicted. I always thought it was totally wrong they released Call The Man as a single and with a video over Dreaming Of You or Make You Happy which are amazing midtempos that show Celine in a much 'cooler' light musically. Call The Man was just like the rest of the ballads and wasnt single material or radio friendly.I disagree. Call The Man is an extraordinary track. Should had gotten more attention. Would had been good if it was used as a movie theme around the time for its release. However Dreamin Of You is a very nice track which had tons of potential aswell! The main problem here is that there's always too few single releases and too short of a lifespan of her albums. The English ones are totally dead when a French is out (a year later, or less). Don't get why they can't release French and English singles simultaniously?! And there really was NO NEED to release My Love (the album) other than as an excuse to play her old songs on the tour and wouldn't be obliged to promote Taking Chances, and a desperate need to milk her name for money. It really was no need for a Greatest Hits album so soon after her "come back" with TC, and the tracklist on ML was a mess, very cheap. I rembemer I was amazed at how Shania Twain released singles and let Come On Over live, also Whitney Huston's My Love Is Your Love. Those albums had a great life span. They were really eager to show off the great material they included and many well choosen singles were released. When it comes to a Céline album it seems like they get it out and then regret they released it and wants to push it away by another release (be it another language or a greatest hits) or another topic (Vegas) as soon as possible. My two cents. /fred Edited January 2, 2012 at 03:00 PM by fred Peace and love to all.

celinesounds Posted January 2, 2012 at 06:02 PM Posted January 2, 2012 at 06:02 PM They might did bad wrong single choices after I'm Alive like Goodbyes instead of other songs like Sory For love or other up-temp song, if they wanted a ballad they could have chose IS or HYHBIL instead. With OH the problem were no promotion, the song OH is amazing, the video is one of her most coll videos ever, but where was the promotion??? TC was a nice song to introduce her to the world after her vegas run, but they did it wrong singing at the same tv appearances BYL and MHWGO, if they wanted to update the sound why sing old boring songs??? they could have sing other new songs instead the amazing ML and This Time or Cant fight the feeling. Alone was nice but where was the video???, where was her special touch in the song??, maybe they choose the wrong producer to help make the song sound better than the original, I could see David Foster doing a better Job. Reveal is a nice song and could have had amazing remixes and might had been successful, we will never know... other waste was Love is all we need could have been the reinvention she needed that time, the song has as teenager sound and cheerleader sound at the same time. let's pray for better choices in the future with the new album #FREEJAVITO

If they had released that song (after properly releasing IDAN in the UK) then it might have been a hit aswell... Maybe I understood what they were saying... Anyway, that's in the past... We can't change it and we are now gonna get a new album, so let's hope for news... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3216/5786913948_369265dbeb_m.jpg FERLO

spunkransum Posted January 3, 2012 at 09:52 PM Posted January 3, 2012 at 09:52 PM By no means, am I trying to start anything. But why is everyone jumping on people who are saying this and that about the album? I love Celine, but let's face it the past two English Albums they were good, but they didn't get the correct promotion. I'm not trying to sound harsh, but we have seen it happen twice, why would we not be surprised a third time the album doesn't excel? Everybody knows Celine Dion, but why is the team so afraid to take a chance with her? Let her sing uptempo songs, find some that are uptempo but at the same time she uses her voice a little more. "Sorry For Love," it's uptempo but then she hits that Sorry note and it's pretty amazing. Us fans are going to stand behind her no matter what, but try something new so she can be out in the spotlight again, don't pull a Madonna and forget all of your previous songs, but whenever she does a television promotion just sing the single and another song off the album. David Foster please come work again with Celine! If David makes Shania Twain's new album get good promotion maybe they will get him again.
Tyler1991 Posted January 3, 2012 at 10:01 PM Posted January 3, 2012 at 10:01 PM I don't really care for uptempo songs. When she sings them live they'll either be a trainwreck of a mess (SOL, LCMM, CFTF) or they'll just be lipped (TC, IDAN, EOM). I'd rather her do songs that she'll do live, and that will sound decent. Just about the only uptempo song that was done right on the tour was Fade Away, and I hesitate in saying that simply because it lacked a little bit of punch there towards the end, though in Africa she sang that song perfectly.
