thanks guys! as for the christmas avatar I rebuilded the magazine pic of le lundi to create this picture and as for Dana, I send her a reply that it is so kind of her to take the time to answer us and that we are very excited to hear the new song!

I haven't had a reply from the youtube girl yet though, she might write me back I hope, but we will see. Just excited that Dana wrote me back!

you don't think staight, Celine is a singing zombie, manipulated by sony music and René. She does'nt care about anything but her babies. And i think she is probably drugged, because how else explain her lack of concern about her fans. After all, we are the ones who pays for her shoes , her dresses...

 

I'm a fan of Celine because no others can sing like her, so i'm her fan, nonobstant enerything . When another one can do the same thing she does for emotionnally speaking and for my ears i will switch to this other with no complains...in the meantime, i'll support whatever she does. When you get older, and more understanding of others, you learn to accept.

However, I do agree a little that Celine has lost the passion that she once had! It's this passion that I fell in love with! I still believe Celine loves to sing, but it's not her priority anymore...and it shouldn't be! She has a beautiful family to love and take care of. Her priorities have changed for the better for her. Maybe not for us, but I'm happy Celine is fulfilled in her family life.

 

And I believe there is someone who can do what Celine used to do? Maybe? Adele...plus she writes her own songs! :-P I love Adele...

She might write fantastic songs but her voice is not in Celine's area at all. When I have to listen to Adele a whole concert long,

I would feel exhausted.. listening to her nasal voice the whole time. And the difference is also that Adele is a singer/songwriter,

Celine is not, Celine sings what she has been offered to sing by talented songwriters ( or she sings covers)

And yes Celine's priorities have changed and I am happy she is happy, but again, the whole vegas thing, wether it is live or not,

she does not have to. If she really cares for singing , she would bring a totally new concept without the same repertoire, think out of the box,

challenge herself. So yes, I do think she lost her passion in singing. She just does what people want her to do, she does what Rene and the production team decide. That is not how Celine used to be. Best example for me is the Millenium Concert that was completely live ( or maybe some exceptions?) now that was a real challenge.. bringing so many old and new songs..

Anyway let's see what the english album will bring, maybe it will blow us away,:-)

Maybe her priorities have changed, yes, but what has that to do with her passions? Music could still be her passion no matter how much her life has changed with her children. But she has relegated music aside in a way that makes you wonder if she still loves it as a way to express herself as an artist (like it was before 2000) or its now just a way to earn her living... and move on to another thing after all

I agree, she needs to show fans again that they matter and what we mean to her as since her return in March its like, family, friends, vegas= money, shopping, vacations, albums=money, and what else hmmmmm oh ohh yeah the fans, forgot about them since the WT wrapped! ... and not just write the same small line in the back of the album sleeve, that wont do anymore I'm afraid!

 

Do giveaways for signed items, chances to win tickets/airfares to the show, meet and greets, access to her soundchecks in Vegas and that kind of thing.

 

As well as another promo tour for both albums, covering 2/3 countries per album, that gives fans the chance to see/meet her, who can't make it to Vegas.

 

It's not alot to ask... as a die hard fan I feel the same... all I'm saying is that she has lost the ''balance''

i wouln't be able to listen to Adele for more than 5 minutes at a time...and i don't really think that Celine is a singing zombie, it was an exageration based on what some people say

 

Celine has the the shortcomings that comes with her qualities, i would like other things from her sometimes, like when she sings summertime or Mr. Paganini, but i also think there is enough singers who are pleased to share the ugliness of the world, it comes as a relief to hear something about happyness and love .

But I don't get is so ridiculous, you cannot deny that this is how it is. I am a fan for a very long time now, my first album was the Colour of my Love and later on Deux and the rest. So I have known the Celine from the 90s and that Celine is different than Celine now. Vegas is for me the ultimate thing that changed her and her career, and I think there is no way you can deny that. Celine always wanted to have children , that was her biggest wish and thank God she has three children now and she is the happiest mum, as we all know, and she loves being a mum. But ever since Vegas her priorities changed.

Taking Chances has been the last fresh album and after that in each and every concert we have only heard some favorites, among a pair of the taking chances covers. And I bet when she will ever tour again, it will be a tour like "Celine" but then on tour - so again the same songs. She should renew herself, to stay closer to her fans. Because if she thinks the songs the fans like to hear are only ABM, TPOL and RDMH etc. - she is wrong. Maybe the people that know Celine only because of that songs, but the fans in here, and there are a lot, really want to hear different things. We don't demand it but just tell how it is, and hope she , maybe sometime, is gonna change it.

And again, I am glad Celine is happy but she should like, someone said here before, balance her career more.

If it's only a few covers on there... fine. Celine's albums always have had covers. Some of her biggest successes are covers anyway ("Power of Love", "All by myself", etc). If done well, it should be good.

 

What worries me though is that the style of songs in the new Vegas show is quite classical, isn't it? Orchestral music and kind of mellow? I haven't seen much from that show so I don't know if that's the case.

 

But anyway, if they do decide to include the covers (they might change their minds, you never know), I hope they will be like 'separated' from the actual NEW songs. Because an album in the style of orchestral mellow music is not going to be the kickass comeback a lot of fans are hoping for.

 

If the direction and aim of the english album is to please the actual fanbase, then I'm sure it will be a success in that regard. But if they want Celine to be noticed in the world of music again, then perhaps they should rethink it.

 

They are STILL talking about the French album? I thought they already recorded a lot of stuff and they were merely adding a song or two that they just received? Oh well, it seems that at least the French album will be 100% new music. I like her english stuff, but her French stuff is definitely the best of Celine so excited for the French album!

 

I do hope the english album is good though. Even if it's just catering to her already acquired admirers, I hope it's done well.

Rene ( being her manger ) and a certain section of Sony, are pretty much to blame for this ''balance issue'', and it needs addressing as its been ''winged'' with alot of luck and the thought that it don't matter, what ever we put out there, the fans will buy, but its obvious that lately alot ( not all ) of fans on here have gotten sooo tired of this...

 

So maybe they need to actually have a meeting about plan B , if there is one... cos plan A needs serious updating and new idea's.

 

Personally I think working with family and very close friends is not a good idea, as all you get is ''yes people'' or people who take the pi$$.... it'll be a new year soon so how about some well over due, new years resolutions, new people/brain stormers and direction, as they are really needed

When I ´m reading this forum I have feeling that there´s more and more fans who are more or less dissapointed how Céline´s career continue, I´m one of them, I agree that Vegas is reason of that situation but I also agree that it´s also on her managment, but we can talk what we think that reason is, but we don´t know all true, maybe it´s managment, maybe Céline herself really don´t have a passion for music like she had before, she had enough money from Vegas performing, and maybe as Sony knows how many records she is able to sell today, they don´t care about her so much, they know her name is selling itself, so why do more than one real video from album, why more promo single ... this was my feeling about Sony´s promo for TC album ( this s*** videos for Eyes on me and Alone). So as noone of us are in Céline´s managment or in her record label we can only hope that with this two albums something has changed.

not gonna repeat it again ,but yes I miss the passion in music lately. When I heard the word "Vegas" again.. I was like,... no not again, again 5 years in America , 5 years wasted - except for those who live closeby and can attend a concert overthere.

But I guess this is how it is, yes her management needs to change but will it ever gonna change? don't think so.

Let's just hope for new fresh songs on the new album:-) After all that is where we are all waiting for

I'm still her biggest fan. Her priorities have changed. It's obvious. I think it's personally credible she is now doing what SHE wants. I think Vegas and it's $$$$ is just too tempting for them both to pass up and as Celine says 70 shows a year gives her just enough of her ya ya's to feel satisfied. This ain't 1994 when she trying to prove herself amoung her peers. She's been doing this since she was 12. She has reached a pinacle and the top her heap amoung her contemporaries. She's 43 years old (still a young woman) but accomplished so damn much. I, like many of you, are "starved" for new material. NEAR FAMISHED. On the other hand, I love the covers she's been doing in the new show.....love it. I'm only 30, but as I get older I'm enjoying more jazzy stuff and older stuff too, so her direction and decison to include some remakes or covers on the CD is quite fine for me. In terms of the folks that will be 'buying' this new records---it will not be 14 and 16 year old Justin Beiber fans.....nor will it be Britney Spears or Lady Gaga fans (mind you of course their will be some mutual fans among the purchases).......but remember she has a large female following.....probably average age 45+.......us die hard youngens too....an of course internationally a wide spectrum. I think Taking Chances was my least satisfying album. She tried and I admire her for going 'there' in that rock direction, slightly, but really, one album of that kind is enough.

 

If this is indeed a 'nightgown' album as was once described with 3, 4, or even half a dozen covers a few new songs, I will welcome that. I see Celine as classy. I don't expect a poker face or Born the Way type single. And regardless Top 40 will not play her.....unless she has a massive and I mean massive cross over hit. I think it would smart to focus her attention on garnering itunes single sales and a HOT AC single......as AC gets no airplay anymore. Other than that, I think we'll see the new album open with some decent numbers in 2012 for two reasons: A) it's Celine and she still has legions of fans 2) It'll be almost 5 years since English release and that will garner some attention.

 

 

Regardless of her feelings these days musically, I'm pleased with the fact she is "clean" and still sounds incredible (God I pity the Whitney Houston fans...if you catch my drift) and has maintained such a respectable image. THAT is hard to do.

Dana Parish is a singer/songwriter. She has written a song for Celine and Celine will put it on her new album. The name of the song is - Allways be your girl. I wrote Dana not so long ago to give us a confirmation about the song being recorded for the new album. She replied that she is very excited that Celine is gonna put her song on the new album. And she is also very excited to let us hear that new song!

After Titanic, she knew she needed to disappear for a while and I think that's when she actually started enjoying life... and then she really got fed up with her career after her 5 years in Vegas (which is easy to understand)!

Now with the limited Vegas show, she can enjoy life, make money and keep her voice trained.
