Kyle_Jared Posted December 30, 2011 at 02:09 PM Posted December 30, 2011 at 02:09 PM They're in Vegas to stay. No sense in getting your feather ruffled. They're happy. Doing what they want. She'll be vegas until she retires.
Anna1990 Posted December 30, 2011 at 04:58 PM Posted December 30, 2011 at 04:58 PM I agree that she's been wasting years of quality voice only singing the same songs over and over again... and it seems they're not going to change that a bit. Dozens of songs remain unsung but on their original album recordings... it's a pity really ach I agree with you 100%
fred Posted December 30, 2011 at 11:45 PM Posted December 30, 2011 at 11:45 PM and that other article says letterly about Celine's english album: The first will include several Caesars favorites, including Journey’s “Open Arms” and the incredible Jacques Brel classic “Ne Me Quitte Pas (If You Go Away).” Interesting. Is it written like that in the article: Ne Me Quitte Pas (If Yo Go Away)? If so, can we expect a version with both French and English lyrics? It has been done before, by Dusty Springfield if I'm not wrong. I would prefer that the track had one language though. To be honest I would love to have her record the song in both languages, and have If You Go Away on the English album. The English version is really quite good. Look up Shirley Bassey's version on youtube. I'd really like Céline's version to be like that mixed with Barbra's version. Yet still I'd like it to sound like her OWN version, and not just like a copy of someone else. But you get what I mean. She could have kept adding more of those so-called "signature songs" if only she had put the effort in promoting them in the same way and as strongly as she has continued singing her classics You are so right about that. I can't help but wonder where tracks like I Surrender and Reveal would be if released and promoted the right way. It seems as if ever since My Heart Will Go On they expect that her singles will promote themselves. But in reality it's the other way around. Céline needs to work pretty hard to wash of that "blaséness" people have about her for MHWGO. Yet she keeps performing that track and the other goldies more often than her latest material. /fred Peace and love to all.

Claudette Posted December 31, 2011 at 08:23 PM Posted December 31, 2011 at 08:23 PM (edited) I think Nadine from 'Girls Aloud' also confirmed she is working on Celine's new album. Edited December 31, 2011 at 08:26 PM by Claudette http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af51/ClaudetteRobinson/esme.jpg
Celine_Fan_1992 Posted December 31, 2011 at 09:10 PM Posted December 31, 2011 at 09:10 PM She has a new English album coming out in April and you all are still whining. You all are also being very hypocritical. You say you are bored of hearing about Celine's children and Vegas. What about the same repetitive statements you keep making about her over and over? GROW UP, GET A LIFE, AND LEAVE CELINE ALONE!!!!!!!!! ♥Once a Celine fan, always a Celine fan!♥
Jeff Abbott Posted December 31, 2011 at 09:16 PM Posted December 31, 2011 at 09:16 PM I'm depressed about the Vegas extension. Maybe I should just give up on her right here right now?You know that's not so easy to do, impossible for a die-hard fan. We're in a position when we need to take whatever Celine and Rene decide to give us. The only thing we could do now is to hope for the best. April comes pretty quickly and then we'll see. By the way, I knew the Vegas extension would happen, but increasing the number of concerts per year, I did not see that coming. Some of you might think that if she performs more in Vegas she'll have less time for other projects. To be honest, I don't think that in-between Vegas she'll do anything more than one album like every 3 or 4 years (just because Sony asked her to). Take heart guys, HAPPY NEW YEAR and remember THE BEST IS YET TO COME, as Celine once said.

We are going to have to endure the craze of the song once again, however this could be a good thing if they play the cards right and release the singles corectly. It's just like the TC album, they messed up on how they released the singles and that's why it fizzeled. All I know is she has to do something to set her apart, to many of her peers are coming back this year she may have to do those ballads once again if she wants any record sales. Though thinking about it, I would like in Titanic if they chose to just use her voice and the piano, now that would be amazing.

lost84 Posted January 1, 2012 at 12:57 PM Posted January 1, 2012 at 12:57 PM (edited) I'm shocked with all that negativity here!! I'm more then happy if Celine is going to be in Las Vegas 2 more years!!! And a new Album comin in march is great as well... What do you want more???? She is not 25 anymore and doesnt not need to have always a new project going on!!!! SHE HAS A FAMILY!!!!!!!!!! Edited January 1, 2012 at 12:58 PM by lost84
Bell Posted January 1, 2012 at 01:37 PM Posted January 1, 2012 at 01:37 PM (edited) I agree that it's normal for Celine to slow down. She used to release a new album every year in the 90s but nothing stays the same. One album every 3 or 4 years is not so bad. BUT I prefer her not to announce anything before it's really sure. The new English album was supposed to come out...when? She first said spring of 2011, then fall... And now she sais April 2012. That's what I'm talking about. It would be better if she wasn't teasing the fans like this. Edited January 1, 2012 at 01:38 PM by Bell 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER
lost84 Posted January 1, 2012 at 01:41 PM Posted January 1, 2012 at 01:41 PM yes thats true! But I think due to her pregnancy and as well her new show in Las Vegas eveything got kinda crazy... Im actually sill not convinced that the new CD is coming in April.... Well lets see

dj4celine Posted January 1, 2012 at 08:41 PM Posted January 1, 2012 at 08:41 PM I wouldn't be too surprised if this album doesn't even crack the gold certification. From whatever information there is, it's not going to be anything spectacular. I hope I'm proven wrong here.
smw Posted January 1, 2012 at 08:58 PM Posted January 1, 2012 at 08:58 PM There's a lot going for this album: 1. It's Celine Dion 2. It's a new Celine Dion album in the Spring (always good for sales) 3. Beauty and The Beast and Titanic are being re-released this year 4. Celine's voice is in amazing condition these days 5. Adele has brought back the Power Ballad Let's be excited!
Celine Fan 77 Posted January 1, 2012 at 09:06 PM Posted January 1, 2012 at 09:06 PM That's right, Adele has brought back Celine's style of hit songs, let's hope that helps regarding the album sales. Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013) Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016) Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017) Céline Dion à Paris (September 12, 2026)

Not exactly! Adele is young, Celine is not which is why she's getting the attention.Adele brought back raw vocals with lots of emotion, whereas Celine's vocals in most of her English songs are too polish devoid of emotion.Adele's album has darker undertones from personal experiences whereas I'm sure Celine's album will be full of happy-cheerful songs cos Celine hates delving into the pain & misery of life. Remember what happened when she recorded 'This Time','Surprise, Surprise' and 'My Love'? I'm very doubtful she'd want to go through the pain now that she has had kids and blah-blah. That's what was in the 3 Boys documentary. And most importantly, this isn't Celine vs. Adele, so I'm sorry I got carried away.

PatrickDion22 Posted January 1, 2012 at 09:52 PM Posted January 1, 2012 at 09:52 PM Sales are very slow in the spring, so that isn't the best decision I disagree. Celine has had a large amount success with spring releases. "Celine Dion" was released in the spring, as was "Falling into You," and "ANDHC." In fact, the best-selling albums of 2011 were all released in the spring: Adele's was released in the last week of February, Britney Spears' was released in March, and Lady Gaga's was released in May. The fact that the album market is so dismal now, anyway won't make a big difference whether her album is a March or November release... Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/patjsully

I disagree; Celine is an artist with 30 years of experience in show business, she knows (just like every professional performer) that not every song is a happy song. It's All Coming Back To Me Now, All By Myself, My Heart Will Go On, Et Je T'aime Encore, Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore... etc are not exactly happy songs, but they have become some of Celine's biggest hits. And how can you say that Celine's vocals don't transmit emotions?? Well, I guess that's a matter of taste. And by the way, I never wanted to turn this topic into Celine vs. Adele Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013) Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016) Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017) Céline Dion à Paris (September 12, 2026)

I never said anything about Celine not evoking any emotions, but it's the critics who do. Also, the comparisons I wrote are exactly what a certain user wrote on a certain forum and almost everyone agreed. So I doubt it'll be any different in reality. But then again, when we calculate the number of sad vs happy songs, the ratio is somewhere around 85:15 and hence, the numbers speak for themselves. And yup, I do know which songs are heartfelt and which are done just for the sake of it. I apologized for me turning it into a Adele vs Celine post and not you
Celine Fan 77 Posted January 1, 2012 at 10:12 PM Posted January 1, 2012 at 10:12 PM haha It's alright, after all, this is what this forum is all about, having a good time speaking and sharing opinions about Celine. abadi Posted January 1, 2012 at 10:28 PM Posted January 1, 2012 at 10:28 PM Happy new year! I don't want things to go off topic but I have some comments here Adele is young, Celine is not which is why she's getting the attention. I don't think that age matters that much nowadays! Madonna is 10 years older than Celine is and she is on top of her game! I am amazed when I see Madonna's concerts! Most of the songs she sings are from her latest albums because, simply, she has new hit songs or what Celine calls 'signature songs'! I agree that it's normal for Celine to slow down. She used to release a new album every year in the 90s but nothing stays the same. One album every 3 or 4 years is not so bad. B Yes, that's normal for somebody who wants money...yes money! What's the impact that this Vegas thing would have on her career? FYI, the most recent song on her Vegas set list is 'the prayer' 1998 if they exclude it then the latest will be a bit older! Regarding her latest interview, I would like to say that ...well...it is repetitive, monotonous and mechanical and booooring 99% about her family..am not really surprised...and I don't blame her since she is the only mother in the world and nobody loves their children as half much as she does! However, I still love Celine the artist!

But yet at the same time, she is doing "Lullaby" in the show and it's a pretty depressing song. If she would have put a little more effort into "This Time," it would have been a real eye opener and a great song. Though, I completley understand why she didn't want to do the song because Celine has never deal with spousal abuse. "My Love," I believe was finally a song between Rene and herself, Linda Perry even said she wanted Celine raw and emotional during the recording of the song. Am I the only one who hasn't found "My Heart Will Go On," depressing? It's a sad song, but I have always felt it kinda up lifting myself.

Just believable what I read on this forum I agree. I think the people who criticize and talk about Celine not being at the top of her game or looking for money or whatever really just need to wait for the album. Once everyone actually hears the album, there will be little if any harsh criticism. Patience is key. http://fotos.fotoflexer.com/c162f14a9595ca5d0be775a79a3775ff.gif "Live, for the one I love.
