"Sans attendre" album - Official Topic

I LOVE #6 (Une chance qu'on s'a). The lyrics are so perfect, I"m planning to use it at my wedding. That said, a friend of mine listened to the track and she and her husband were both afraid that JPF might die right then and there during the recording session. Perhaps he's past his vocal prime...

 

I love it too! And I think it's a beautiful choice for a wedding song! The lyrics are so sweet and represent such a mature, equal kind of love (I'm here for you; you're here for me; we're so lucky to have each other and we know how lucky we are). I love everything about it -- the lyrics, the way the music is restrained but intense at the same time, the warmth and chemistry in the mixing of JP and Celine's voices . . and I love that "Une Chance Qu'On S'a" is a phrase Celine and Rene used to say to each other. It's become one of my favorite Celine songs.

According to a french fan in facebook who collects Céline, there's going to be a 4th single from the album. A new CD promo released in July, "La mer et l'enfant"

 

Just when you think Sony can't kill another Céline Dion album, then he come to chose the worst song there is in the album for a single!

 

Seriously... La mer et l'enfant? Have they heard of "Attendre" or "Si je n'ai rien de toi" before??? :doh:

I think La Mer Et L'Enfant is a good summer song! Plus its on the Quebec setlist, so that makes sense! I am just happy they haven't given up on Sans Attendre!

La Mer is a pretty poor choice for a single, but I'm happy they are giving us one last release. If they are giving us this much for a french release, which are traditionally low on singles, we might be getting something really exciting for the next English album too.

I'm happy too because they're keeping the promotion, they didn't release a 4th single since the days of SSDA! But come on, is La mer et l'enfant the best song for another single? And if they've done this just because she's singing it in Les Plaines, that sucks honestly. I can't believe she wants to perform this boring song on the stage BEFORE Attendre (which gives the title of the album!!!) or Si je n'ai rien de toi. These have 1000 times more potential to be performed live! Even L'amour peut prendre froid would have been better, or Celle qui m'a tout appris.

 

Again I have no idea what they're thinking, this reminds me when they picked Goodbye's for ANDHC and killed the album. But I guess we have to resign and be happy that they are continuing the album promotion

I got this album the day it was released, of course I did, but I have to say that I am disappointed with it. I was expecting a lot more and the songs just weren't up to standards. I know Celine sings more passionately in French and that I should love this album, but I am holding out for WAAF in hope that it will be a lot better than this one. Don't hop on me now, this is just my honest opinion.

I love the song a lot but it's not a single material and surely not for the summer time!

I thought that Celle qui m'a tout appris would be a single ( since it's also on the setlist) and even though many of you criticised that song, I thought it'd be a classical Celine single. That's a pity... but La mer et l'enfant? it isn't even a mid-tempo:P

To me, I liked this album much more than the precedent "D'elles", but I don't see it as big as some have pointed it out, like the next best thing after "D'eux" and that (I don't even think D'eux is better than SSDA for example). The best songs in my opinion are the ones written by the duo Hesmes/Gategno, and then the songs by Jean Pierre Ferland. But other than that, I don't see any extraordinary material that can surpass what she did with JJG, Plamondon or even Eddy Marnay.

We won't hop on you. To me, "Sans Attendre" was everything I wanted to get from Celine at that time, can't complain about the songs on the album but I do respect your opinion.

Doing better than QPVSA isn't much of a challenge for any new French single by Celine, I guess.

I dont think LPPF was actually released to the radio, that is just a selfmade promo cdr that surfaced on ebay

I suddenly got a thought... Maybe when they filmed the video for LMELF with her kids for the TV Special, they already planned to release it as a single, and use that video for music video
