infiniti Posted December 30, 2012 at 04:19 AM Posted December 30, 2012 at 04:19 AM The best songs of this album for me and not only...are ATTENDRE and Je N'ai Pas Besoin d'amour! There should not be any argument about this!! Sorry consider me arrogant but this is fact and as long time Celine fan and music "critic", these songs are jewels of Celine's latest career. And I was thinking since Attendre is #5 track in the album and considering 5 is Celine's lucky/fav number, this could not be just a coincidence... Attendre is such a powerful, deep performance of Celine's voice..I call it "the Pour que tu m'aimes encore of the 21st century"... 2 Quote Celine ~

LuisMa Posted December 30, 2012 at 02:42 PM Posted December 30, 2012 at 02:42 PM (edited) Let's see if she gives PQTME a rest and starts to consider other of her new songs to give them a chance in the concerts I don't think she'll do that, and personally I'm not sure it's a great idea, as it's her signature French song and people want her to sing it no matter how many times they've heard it. I think a lot would be disappointed if PQTME is retired. But I do believe her new songs can definitely be given a big chance. Edited December 30, 2012 at 02:43 PM by LuisMa Quote

LuisMa Posted December 30, 2012 at 02:57 PM Posted December 30, 2012 at 02:57 PM Especially now with Valentine's Day coming, I hope they don't keep pushing "Le Miracle" and switch. Any of those would be fantastic single choices, yes! 1 Quote
LukeD Posted December 30, 2012 at 02:57 PM Posted December 30, 2012 at 02:57 PM My Heart will go on & Pour que tu m'aimes Encore are her true signature songs, she shouldn't give up on them. She should better stop performing the Filler songs of her tours, which she repeats every time: Love can move Mountains, River deep-Mountain high, To love you More, J'irai ou tu Iras, Dans un autre Monde, Destin. 1 Quote

Any of those would be fantastic single choices, yes! As a marketing strategy, I think releasing "L'amour peut prendre froid" as single for St. Valentine's would be the smartest move! And save "Si Je N'ai Rien de Toi", "Attendre" and "Qui Peut Vivre Sans Amour" for the rest of 2013. Yeah, I want 5 singles from this album! PLEASE!!!! 1 Quote

Maybe not for her french concerts, I agree that the french public will always want to see her singing PQTME, but for example, what about her english concerts? Is it absolutely necessary that the only song she's singing in french in Vegas is PQTME and no other, for instance? That's not a french audience, and I don't think they will be mad at her if she replaces PQTME with another french song of her repertoire. Je t'aime encore could easily do this task I think. And she could play introducing other songs from her past discography or now with the new album, like Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour for example. Geez, it's just ridiculous, she has her own exclusive show and she could be playing with the concerts setlist each night, trying new songs and making changes here and there, but its just the OPPOSITE! She's extremely stagnated in her comfort zone, whatever other singer that has a residency show like this would say "hey, I have my own show for 5 year and I can sing all the songs that I want because I have more than 25 albums to choose from!" She could do whatever she wanted each night! Edited December 30, 2012 at 06:43 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

I am a professor and I NEVER teach a class with the same materials or resources I have used in previous classes. I'd become super bored. However, PQTME is well-known in even English speaking territories, therefore I think she feels it's a mandatory choice for her English concerts, and I have no problem with that, BUT I do believe that throwing a couple of French songs here and there would make a lot of sense because people who are not familiar with that portion of their repertoire can look for it and discover that even though they may not speak the language, they can feel the emotion of the voice and melodies, therefore leading them to possibly purchase the French material. 2 Quote

I agree. Celine and her team need to feel more confident adding in more obscure English recordings from her own repertoire. Even hits that she's neglected as of late, such as If You Asked Me To. Most importantly, Celine should be including more of her French discography into her concerts. Celine and her team have not yet figured out how to merge her English and French careers. General audiences are more than capable of digesting foreign lyrics. And, frankly, it would make Celine all the more intriguing -- particularly to critics. 2 Quote

infiniti Posted January 1, 2013 at 05:21 PM Posted January 1, 2013 at 05:21 PM Happy New Year! I met the new year listening Attendre ~ Quote Celine ~
LuisMa Posted January 1, 2013 at 05:25 PM Posted January 1, 2013 at 05:25 PM (edited) ^ Excellent choice. I always start the new year by listening to my favorite song of the year before. The last time Celine started a year was in 2003, when I played "Faith". She has started 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002 and 2003. This year she didn't, but came close! I'm waiting for the next smash from this or the English album, and I hope she regains the top song of the year! Edited January 1, 2013 at 05:31 PM by LuisMa Quote

mike_z Posted January 1, 2013 at 08:29 PM Posted January 1, 2013 at 08:29 PM It's interesting how you can tell when a song has been written and produced by Veneruso. I mean, "Le temps qui compte", "Parler A Mon Pere", "Tout L'Or Des Hommes", "Contre Nature", "Immensité", they all have the same chords, same background vocals. BTW, I like them all!! Quote
