celine_026 Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:16 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:16 AM Everyone is throwing their toys out of their cots about something we know sh#t about. We still don't know exactly what they mean with big orchestra/movie tribute... Maybe everyone should just wait for the final product (which is still more than a year away) before dissing it so quickly. You guys are being unfair and unreasonable... Edit: With the big band/orchestra thing they probably mean something like the ''Sur Les Plaines'' concert. I'd rather see Celine on 3d in vegas, some special effects. I seriously don't care about lip anymore.I just want it to be beautiful and cool, and her gorgeous up there. I just don't wanna see Celine singing "It had to be you" from Harry & Sally (Jazz song) with a jazz band, looking way older with a crowd of old people cheering... Geeez.... Did you guys notice she is surrounded by OLD people all the time? The only young now is little René. Quote http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/1098/power01eq1.jpg

Bellamy Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:31 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:31 AM I don't think its a matter of René's age. When Whitney Houston released her album "My Love Is Your Love" in 1998 it was produced by her manager and producer Clive Davis (as all her albums), and it was a SMASH hit worldwide as few can remember in those years. And he was 65, 9 years older than René at that time (56) Really bad example. If "My Love Is Your Love" in 1998 was a SMASH hit, then what are LTAL, TAST, ATW? Super SMASH hits? MarinaK Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:43 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:43 AM (edited) yes very rushed indeed. We were told to be there before around 11, but we didnt get inside the studio till like 2ish, and even then it took a while before celine and oprah came out! Personally, I think they rushed it alot, it would have been great if some members of the audience could say a few words, or interact with the audience with songs/ questions etc. It was just really different from what i expected when i normally see celine/oprah shows. and different from the TV as well..lol.really ? is that what you really would have loved to see? some audience members requesting BYLM or MHWGO yet again and telling everyone how much they love those songs. Cuz you KNOW thats what would have happened right. not that, but more about asking questions about the movie and the tour around the world. The producer wanted to hear what we thought of the movie, it would have been nice if they asked us about it to tell on the show. They didnt ask anyone questons even though they went through how to do it if they asked..lol. I think they may of had problems with the skype thing, but it would have been awesome if they could talk to more people around the world and asked the audience about what we thought of the movie, im sure we all would say it was beautiful, but like ...how it made us felt and stuff. thats just what i thought I think there is a reason tho, because we got in very late. i think maybe it had to do with doing 2 tapings yesturday? But yea, I loved the songs she sang, it was beautiful. it was a great show, you will not be dissapointed when watching Im so excited to see it on tv, because when u are there it looks so different! ThisTime Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:54 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:54 AM Don't get me wrong i'm really looking forward to another live Celine performance but is it only me that finds "A Song For You" an incredibly boring song?! No not at all, I am surprised people do like it. I mean it's really odd, very unstructured like I've already said. How does one sing along to it? I find it just a waste of both Céline's and Robert's talent. They could have done something really magical together. It sounded very promising on the recoding session, but turned out to be a real anticlimax. /fredI know. How is Oprah gonna sway back and forth, jump up and down, mouth the words, and look totally ridiculous to this song? It's just not natural for the Oprah show! Of course it can't be compared with Céline's LTAL, but you can't compare Céline with everyone and every other artist with Céline This Whitney's album received some of her greatest reviews ever, and almost all of its singles were airplayed everywhere (It's not right but it's okay, My Love Is Your Love, Heartbreak Hotel (very succesful in the US) and I Learned From The Best). Celine's LTAL, if it wasn't for the Titanic phenomena worldwide, I think she couldn't say the same for that album's singles And it sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. Maybe it's an age thing...I'm 42 and don't care at all if Celine goes back to Vegas or chooses to do other things. If she does a show in Vegas, I'll be first in line to get tickets because I appreciate her talent so much! But at the same time, I value her priorities in wanting to put her family first. If she never performs another show, I still have her music on my Ipod, and I can live with that. Every song she sings is beautiful gift (I know some of you might find that a bit ridiculous, but that's the way I think of all types of music that I like.) I think choosing to sing A Song For You on Oprah was a personal choice that we should all appreciate even if it might not be your favorite. Personally, I love that song, but again...maybe it's an age thing. As for the personal comments about Rene, those are just plain rude. I know if my friends commented about my husband in that way, I would tell them to get lost. I certainly don't think anyone has the right to second guess Celine's personal life choices. She is an entertainer, but she doesn't owe anybody any explanations for what she does, how she does it, or why she does it. So...thank you to everyone who offered the updates for the 10th. MarinaK Posted February 5, 2010 at 02:36 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 02:36 AM I think her choice of song was great, it is something that I've never heard live before and it was beautiful! I got the oppertunity to meet celine afterwards and i got a picture with her. it was a dream come true <3 For anyone who didnt get to meet with her yet, never give up on your dreams, because they will happen when u least expect it I honestly dont know what i said, i was in shock and i think i just told her " i love you" lol, even though there was something i really wanted to tell her She is such a beautiful person. My mom got to talk with her for a while, she has a disability and celine really listened to her, and i am so thankful for celine. she held my mom's hand and just listened....i think my mom really needed to tell her how much her music has helped her in her life, and i think celine appreciated that becuase she got a bit teary eyed. lol she told celine never to stop singing because she doesnt know what she would do without her music..lol. Dreams really do come true people, so never give up! Again, I am so grateful to have met some people in the forum, it was an amazing experience Looking forward to vegas so we can have a reuinion Quote

I'm really happy to hear the latest news, but I guess you can't please everyone! I agree with both of these posts. I love coming to the forum to get the latest news on Celine. It's such an incredible, amazing resource for fans. But, for me personally, I'm generally hesitant to post because I have a hard time with the negativity directed towards Celine. I know we all have our disappointments and there are certain things we wish were done differently, but shouldn't we be fans first and foremost? Yeah, there are definitely times that Celine's team does things that seem ridiculous and, sure, we should be able to vent about our frustrations -- that's part of being a fan, too, I think -- but let's just be happy that Celine is out there making appearances and working at all. I imagine that if Celine hadn't made the Oprah appearance there would be complaints that she is doing nothing to promote the film... We can't have it both ways, and while their decisions about career moves might not always be what we want, irrelevant and snide comments about Celine and Rene themselves are never necessary. ToniI have to say that I came home from work looking forward to any news from the Oprah taping...I don't post here very often since I have so many other priorities, but I love to be up on all the latest when it comes to new shows, tapings, etc. Like the previous poster, Toni, I find it very disappointing that people here can be so negative. Totally agree!! Quote

lindsey22 Posted February 5, 2010 at 03:18 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 03:18 AM Some of you are so naive. Where's money there's Céline. No matter what.that is the only sensible thing i have EVER seen you post on this entire message board. Am I the only one sad other this "Celine & Big band" thing? I find it extremely old and odd. I'd rather see her doing Dragone again, even if not as big as it was. : ( It's sounding cheap to me : (you never know, Celine might bring back the big band style but what happened to her Jazz direction that she wanted to do, or the Opera direction. What happened to the movie about Callas or any film role for that matter. What about her Oscar dreams. I don't know why she feels thnat always has to be giving concerts for a long period of time. What happened to artistry. Some singers go years without doing any concerts. Less is more. So don't any of you guys that went to the taping have something funny or interesting that happened that you can tell us? I mean we are talking Celine here... I'm tired of talking about Vegas.it seems everyone is tight lipped. it's certainly odd, because usually they are chatty disecting every detail analysing every word. Quote
Belle Céline Posted February 5, 2010 at 03:23 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 03:23 AM So don't any of you guys that went to the taping have something funny or interesting that happened that you can tell us? I mean we are talking Celine here... I'm tired of talking about Vegas.it seems everyone is tight lipped. it's certainly odd, because usually they are chatty disecting every detail analysing every word. Typically if you are on a tv show you can't talk about it till it airs, I know shows like America's Funniest Home Video's if you win you can't tell, because you know ahead of time before the actual show airs and several people who won the hundred thousand dollar show said the hardest part was having to lie and say they didn't know or they didn't win because they couldn't give the results away. Same with like the real world, one person on it got the whole house in trouble for telling her mom what was happening on the phone. The producers actually took the phone out of the house. I'm guessing why specific things haven't been discussed is because they aren't allowed to ruin the show secrets or details before it airs. Which I don't want to know whats going to happen. I don't read the posts that I know right away are about the show, I skim the posts for photo's and avoid spoilers or try to. I found out about Vegas and didn't want to till the show. That would have been amazing to see on air and not know about it before hand Quote “There’s nothing I love more than the romance of a night in the theater.”http://i39.tinypic.com/ws0due.png

autumnskies00 Posted February 5, 2010 at 04:34 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 04:34 AM tight lipped? what else do you need to know? we already have almost a play by play of what happened. I'm sure they didn't memorize everything she said. lol. Keep in mind too, a lot of people that went are probably traveling home today. I don't think talking about LV is off topic...since that was one of the big announcements. Also, Celine has said she doesn't feel like she needs to prove anything anymore. Why would she perform songs she doesn't want to, just to gain new fans? She doesn't really need to try anything she doesn't want to if she does a new album ethier...or to be number one again. I don't think that's her concern. She has already achieved everything any singer could dream about, she has millions of fans, now she's just having fun with it. I think with TC she was trying new things for herself, not to be on top of the charts. She has all the money she could ever need, she has so many dedicated fans, and so many number ones. I think now, she's just having fun with her career and just trying to keep her most loyal fan base happy by still being the old Celine we fell in love with and yet sharing new things with us. You were all hoping she wouldn't sing BYLM or MYWGO or any other song we have heard 10000 times, and she didn't. People were also hoping she wouldn't go back and do the same old A New Day, mixed with a little bit of the TC tour...and she's not. She's giving US the FANS new experiences. If people that aren't fans haven't picked up by now that she's the best singer out there...they obviously have bad taste and aren't going to change their minds by her singing an up-tempo song. Koolan Posted February 5, 2010 at 04:35 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 04:35 AM Naturally with a forum this size, there are bound to be some bad apples. Anyways, how many times did Celine say "girlfran?" Quote Please support the forum by ordering through our Amazon.com referral link below. Click here to go to the Amazon homepage.
manu23 Posted February 5, 2010 at 04:49 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 04:49 AM (edited) If Celine or her team doesn't know about this forum or what is going on in the internet, we should stop hopping for something fresh for her next album. Come on! Your are only 41! No 80 like your husband Just great. Another lousy, disrespectful remark. If Celine ever wants to know who is slinging the most insulting and hurtful comments at herself and Rene she only has to come to CelineDionForum.com to read how many of her -fans- slam her bigtime. I've followed this woman over 15 years, the press has been brutal to her countless times, and yet I have never once been aware of her speaking any cruel, mean or insulting words towards anyone. How very ironic that she can constantly count on fans here to direct so many verbal insults and attacks aimed at her and Rene. And everyone wants or hopes that she and Rene come here to read what fans are saying and doing?? Are you kidding? It's sickening. It's one thing to be disappointed by a song, or appearance or hairstyle or Las Vegas, etc., etc. No big deal, I've been there myself. But the cruel and snide remarks on here directed towards Celine and husband are unnecessary and disgusting so many times. When I am on a high about news regarding a new dvd, cd, tv appearance, concert, etc. I only need to come to this forum to knock some of that joy right out of me. Not that I expect anyone to care, but it's depressing and I'm guessing I am not alone feeling this way. Toni If u think what I wrote was an insult u really have a problem, I don't think I have to explain the meaning of the word irony..I love Celine and Rene like couple but I don't always agree with Rene's (or Celine) decisions like manager, THAT'S ALL Manu Edited February 5, 2010 at 04:50 AM by manu23 Quote

There is a huge difference between critisism and just being plain hurtful. Maybe a live orchestra will bring something NEW to Vegas? Maybe Celine wants to be able to do something that makes her happy, IE perform but maybe she doesn't feel like she can do a worldwide tour so soon or one after the other and Vegas is the best thing for her and her family? She could have sang NOTHING ON OPRAH. NOTHING AT ALL and people are b****ing about ASFY? She dedicated the damned song to US. It WAS NOT random at all, as I said before, dedicated it to US! HELLO! And we all think that we could do lots better than Rene and Sony etc regarding aspects of her career and I think we could probably be as good or better especially in the singles department, but maybe we can't! We really don't know if FA or SOL would have been popular! Younger Celine fans are the minority compared to younger GaGa and Taylor Swift fans who are the majority which is why they get so much airplay. People complain their booties off at Mariah Carey acting like she is 20 again and "singing" the songs she does, because they miss classic ballad Mariah. I'd take Classic Celine with an edge, IE Taking Chances over any newage Celine trying to sing a Bad Romance or an Obsessed type song [no offense to M or Gaga, honestly]. I hope Celine doesn't come on here because I don't want her to see such negative things! Thats my opinion. I love this forum, we get great info and the majority of people on here make me laugh and smile and are really awesome, but people [including myself sometimes] are so quick to shove things out there without thinking all the way through and if they are thinking all the way through, then they should think harder! LOL! And lastly, Stevo you are so cute. There, after a year it had to be said. hehe Edited February 5, 2010 at 07:05 AM by Scramasboy Quote http://68.media.tumblr.com/0215da4dacb45f3375c9bf63cb89e9c3/tumblr_o3edqjdnpP1s2lrfeo1_1280.png
