Can someone from the states help me out please. I'm trying to figure out how far we are behind here in SA with Oprah. Today's episode is about people who adopted children from Africa after seeing some of them sing in some choir or something.

 

Edit: Looks like some type of update on stories and that was one of the updates.

but what you should do, I have done it before, email your tvchannel that broadcasts Oprah. and ask them when they are planning to send out that specific episode with Celine

Haha... You don't understand, the channel that broadcasts Oprah employs a bunch of idiots. They can't even update their tv guide on the internet every now and then. I bet they will ask me who Celine is? I'm gonna guess that we are more than three months behind anyways...

They don't show all the Oprah shows there because they are not suited for the South African audience and they're usually in such a random order.

I know that the last time Celine was on, it aired about 3 weeks later. Another option is to call Sony because they'll want it to be aired around the same time the DVD is released I'm sure.

I've realized that they don't show it in order here. I remember the one with ''My Love'' were only broadcasted about 4 or 5 months later. I cannot remember if I ever saw the one from 2007 though. I also thought that it will probably show around the time the DVD gets out... but who knows.

 

You don't know if there is a channel on DSTV that broadcasts Oprah. I've searched for one before, but can't figure it out...

the girl who is the second on the right in the bottom ( red hair) was she not at Oprah last time? And i believe I have seen her meeting Celine during taking chances tour too! ( and she went on Photo with her) At least if I think she is the same..

I have to say that I came home from work looking forward to any news from the Oprah taping...I don't post here very often since I have so many other priorities, but I love to be up on all the latest when it comes to new shows, tapings, etc. Like the previous poster, Toni, I find it very disappointing that people here can be so negative. Maybe it's an age thing...I'm 42 and don't care at all if Celine goes back to Vegas or chooses to do other things. If she does a show in Vegas, I'll be first in line to get tickets because I appreciate her talent so much! But at the same time, I value her priorities in wanting to put her family first. If she never performs another show, I still have her music on my Ipod, and I can live with that. Every song she sings is beautiful gift (I know some of you might find that a bit ridiculous, but that's the way I think of all types of music that I like.) I think choosing to sing A Song For You on Oprah was a personal choice that we should all appreciate even if it might not be your favorite. Personally, I love that song, but again...maybe it's an age thing. As for the personal comments about Rene, those are just plain rude. I know if my friends commented about my husband in that way, I would tell them to get lost. I certainly don't think anyone has the right to second guess Celine's personal life choices. She is an entertainer, but she doesn't owe anybody any explanations for what she does, how she does it, or why she does it.

 

So...thank you to everyone who offered the updates for the 10th. I'm really happy to hear the latest news, but I guess you can't please everyone!

Not sure but probably Oprah is as angry as us for Céline singing a new song instead of BYLM!

I'm so excited for the girls! They're representing ALL of Céline's fans, whether they're here on the forum or not. Their friendship represents thousands of friendships that have been formed because of Céline. I hope they have a wonderful time!

 

I do agree about the friendship thing, it's wonderful how we all became friends thanks to Celine.

 

The bad thing about living in a far away country is that you don't get to see as much Celine as you want. So reading all of these wonderful stories bring us some fulfillment (in a sort of way). But i am so glad that the girls were able to see her and take pics with her.

Just to correct you, Celine had massive hits with MHWGO, ANDHC and IA in the UK. All since Think Twice!!!

Do you know anything? Since Think Twice, Celine has impacted the UK top 40 on 19 occasions, with 19 different songs. Since Think Twice, she has sold over 4m singles in the UK - one of the higher tallies in that time frame.

Guys, I don't know everything. But I do know any thing, well, something, and one thing is to admit when I'm wrong. Ok, I'm sorry, what I posted is what I recall from teh buzz on here, from UK fans among other, when EOM was released as a single. I am not from the UK myself, and I haven't looked into sales figures. Forgive me.

 

But I still stand for that I think test driving EOM in the UK, and the UK only, is a strategy worth questioning.

EDIT: BTW guys, be nice to Oprah. She's wonderful! I had my doubts on her, you know, but since her turn to introduce more spirituality I see her as a true trooper.

We all (especially you US people) should be extremely proud of her. I mean she is (or was) THE most powerful woman in the western world, yet she choose to bring up something for the greater good of all the earth a couple of years ago. Even though she was bashed for it, she continued doing so, and keeps doin so, and I respect he GREATLY for that!
