Javito Posted February 4, 2010 at 03:06 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 03:06 PM (edited) I like doing what I don't want to do, and the contrary of what I say CHECKED Celine Dion When did she say that? I didn't know that, but it made me feel uncomfortable Am I the only one sad other this "Celine & Big band" thing? I find it extremely old and odd. I'd rather see her doing Dragone again, even if not as big as it was. : ( It's sounding cheap to me : ( Not cheap, but as if Céline was a Barbra Streisand clon, only that she is 41 and Babra is 67 After the Vegas confirmation, the Oprah "A Song For You" performance, and now this "little" surprise for a show with "orchestrations and hollywood movies tribute"... please forgive me, but I don't understand nothing at all Nor when she says "the best is yet to come", either when René says she will be again the #1 singer wordwide Yeah, but... WHEN? I love how Céline cares and always care to please her fans, anytime and everywhere, but have they ever stopped to ask fans what they would like to see/hear her do? Just for information, only to know our opinions. I mean that doesn't hurt, does it? There's a strong discrepance here, a huge gap between what they think we love and what we are expecting to get Edited February 4, 2010 at 03:14 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... Maybe everyone should just wait for the final product (which is still more than a year away) before dissing it so quickly. You guys are being unfair and unreasonable... Edit: With the big band/orchestra thing they probably mean something like the ''Sur Les Plaines'' concert. I was thinking the exact same thing. Sur Les Plaines was so succesful she may just be doing something like that. I loved the sound of every song in that show. Also, I'm thinking it may be a little bit harder to lip sync with an orchestra. My hope is that since she will be doing fewer shows, that she won't have to lip sync as much. I'm not trying to start that conversation in this topic too, sorry, I'm just saying that maybe this whole orchestra thing will have that added benefit. My only concern, and its not really that serious, is that with a large band, if the seats will be further away lol. I don't think its a bad idea to change the show at all. She was in Vegas for 5 years doing the same show, and then followed by people like Cher and Bette who sort of did a big show that was sort of similar. Its old now. It doesn't hold as much as excitement. Plus with Celine...she can literally sing on an empty stage, in the dark, in sweat pants, and it would still be a good show. She doesn't need a ton of dancers and effects because her voice can hold a show. That's how her old tours were...less dancing and more singing. Also, she'll be older. That tilted stage and dancing around was hard on her body I'm sure even though she's in shape. Did they mention when tickets will go on sale?? I'm sure her management didn't tell you truth because they planned to announce it on Oprah. Even if they said no comment it would be obvious that she was going back to Vegas. What do they care if they lie to a fan? And like I said before, with them not knowing about the forum, I'm sure most of the time they were just being polite by saying they knew what we were talking before. They could have thought you were talking about the celinedion.com forums lol. Maybe hearing the story about people meeting each other through this site, they actually realized how many people were on here and active on here. With the baby thing. I thought she was supposed to try a last time a few weeks ago. Maybe it already did take and she just doesn't want to go through announcing it again in case in doesn't work. She looks a little fuller in the face, boobie, and buttox areas lol. If she already tried the fifth time, the baby would be due in the fall. Even if she does it today and it works...the baby would still be due in the fall. She'd have a good amount of time to rest and if they rehearse like they did for the tour (one month before) she wouldn't have to start until February 2011....or they could always push it back. Did she refer to the first baby try as a miscariage? Because they never called it that back when the news released. They just kept saying she was 'no longer pregnant'. haha long sort of random post...but thats all Quote http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b213/autumnskies00/siggy1-2.jpg

the power of celine Posted February 4, 2010 at 04:30 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 04:30 PM You guys! She dedicated that song to not only her family and friends, but to us! her fans! What if she were to read this or get word the reaction was this way? How embarrassing would that be? I'm just happy she wanted to sing and she obviously had a reason to sing that song and she probably really likes it, so I'm good with that Well said...some of you guys are rather selfish and it kind of makes me sick sometimes. You complain for the same songs being sung, and then she does something completely unexpected and all I see is "oh why the hell would she sing that..wah wah whoa is me. i don't like that song blah blah blah..." how about we get over ourselves and just enjoy the fact that Celine is all over the place right now. When she did hip hop with Will-i-am it just looked silly. I mean, I enjoyed it, but people who weren't really fans were probably thinking..ummm what is she doing? For all of her career she has done ballads and that is what has been the most successful. Why would they change that now? It sells and she's got the voice for it. I feel like anything they do that is different than ballads always ends up being a little over the top and cheesey. Sort of like Cher's "believe". It wouldn't hit top 40 radios...it would be on adult contemporary radios. Fact is, people aren't going to change their mind about Celine this late in her career. She'll always be known as the titanic lady which is a shame. People just don't have a taste for real talent and big voices anymore..they like lots of autotune, whacked out outfits, or songs with cliche lyrics about romeo and julliet and fairytales. For an Oprah show where the entire show is about Celine, people who aren't already fans wouldn't tune in. So people who already have these pre-conceived ideas wouldn't watch this show or the movie for that matter. So it really was just for the fans. kerche Posted February 4, 2010 at 05:11 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 05:11 PM I am reposting this because it got overshadowed by Vegas talk!!! Hi everyone! It's after 1:00am here in Chicago... I'm dead tired but I figured to come online to read & see what's been going on. - "A Song for You" was AMAZING!!! This song is also in the movie, so it holds special meaning for our dear Celine at this time. It sucked to read that people didn't like the song choice. The piano introduction always get to me everytime - Celine wore a strapless, sweetheart neckline, black leathery-looking dress (not sure of material) - very sexy but the back sort of had a hole by her waist. I thought she didn't get zipped up @ first! Shoes were Christian Louboutin - the beige one with black on the toe & along the side. Frida! I know you know this! I believe she wore them before - RC was talked about a lot in the beginning & we found out that Charlie is a FEMALE lab! - 1st commercial break: continued talking about the puppy while getting her hair fixed & makeup retouched. She said along the lines of "I can't talk!" & "I barely even moved. Do we have to fix my hair?" Zhane, her hair stylist was there. - 2nd commercial break: she drank her water from a glass cup with a silver-plated metal straw. She loved it & Oprah uses them instead of plastic straws to be environmentally friendly. I think she said some stuff but can't remember. Very random. - 3rd commercial break: they got ready for the Skype interviews. Again, forgot what was said. - 4th commercial break: they got ready for the performance. Makeup/hair was touched up again. Annie Horth came out to fix Celine's dress. It was really nice to see Annie in person! - Nothing was really new during the interview. As I sat there watching, since Oprah commands & asks the questions...the interview was pretty standard. Questions about the film, travelling, home life during break, etc. As we mentioned it was mainly about the TTEOTW film. - I was hoping for audience Q&A but didn't happen. - Anyhoo...cat is out of the bag....but SPOILER! --Click here to view-- | --Cliquez ici pour voir-- Vegas is a for sure GO! start saving $$! - 2 surprises! One for SPOILER! --Click here to view-- | --Cliquez ici pour voir-- a special surprise for the Canadian Tenors and other surprise was for Celine Quote - Kerry -

I mean really....Celine is maxed out with fans LOL I'm sure she realizes that she is like a "rock & roll" star amongst her fans. She doesn't need to try and win over any new fans. I love everything she does, because she really doesn't need to do anything more. She can retire forever and just be the mommy and wife...but...she continues to perform...so I appreciate the opportunities to see her live. ASFY was an unusual choice, but I'm glad they had the sense to do something that isn't a classic 90s hit. Let's hope her new Vegas show isn't full of hits! Also, I'm thinking it may be a little bit harder to lip sync with an orchestra. My hope is that since she will be doing fewer shows, that she won't have to lip sync as much. I'm not trying to start that conversation in this topic too, sorry, I'm just saying that maybe this whole orchestra thing will have that added benefit.Na, Celine's playbacks are all acapella (no instruments - just the vocals, while the band plays live), so she could still choose to pre-record as many tracks as she wants!
