Bralo20 Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:19 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:19 PM Celine was coming back to Vegas and she said - yes, it's not a rumor. And that the show will be with a big orchestra and feature her hits and tribute to hollywood films?!?!! That it would start March 15, 2011. It was very rushed... Thank you for the information. So Céline's management send false information when they replyed on my mail yesterday that she wouldn't return to Vegas in March next year... Seems that there is some kind of a temporarly publication ban in order about the story... Quote ...

fred Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:30 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:30 PM Let the interrogation begin... Would you guys prefer My Love over ASFY? Well, uhm, kind of... yea, I don't know. But if I need to listen to one of the songs I'd gladly choose ML over ASFY, however in live performances I must choose ASFY simply coz it hasn't been exposed as much as ML. Neither of the songs deserves exposion if you ask me. Along with AWTBI and Alone, these tracks shouldn't even be on the album but purely bonus material for singles. I can't believe that these songs were included and MTMH wasn't. MTMH wasn't all that great, it had its flaws but these songs had more than just a flew falws. ASFY sounded great from the recording session. I really hd hope for that one. But when I heard it in full track I almost believed it wa ssome sort of a mistake. It doesn't sound like a song at all. The structure is nothing but weak, and the lyrics are not even capable to be graded. I get the feeling someone is improvising, and a bad improvising it is... Each time I think of the song title it makes me kind of sad she didn't cover the old classic instead. That is a proper song at least. However that one did Whitney go on and cover for her newest album, yet her version is soulless and odd. I find it hard to say but Bublé's version is actually really fine. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

Bralo20 Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:46 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:46 PM also... bralo got this message from her mangement yesterday! And yet again... A formal denial... (From her management) I am sorry that there is no confirmation for a new show in Vegas with Celine dion. If eventually there is one show for sure the whole world will be informed. That's all we can tell you right now about that rumor. Try to remember that the first project for Céline right now is trying to have a new baby. Regards Bralo is a bit disappointed in that... Until yesterday every piece of information I received from her management was 100% legit... Now they did formal deny the rumors but at almost the same time Céline confirmed the news herself, even given a specific date... I would have understand that they send a mail and told me that they couldn't confirm it nor deny it or that there was a publication ban until a certain date. But formally denying it while they could guess that the news about Céline herself confirming it would have spread before the airing of the show? I wonder how they are going to reply on the mail I've send a few moments ago Quote ...

kerche Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:58 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:58 PM (edited) Anyhow that's my story! be on the lookout for an Asian girl in turquoise top & gray pants! HeheSo you got to go to both the A and B shows? Wow! What was the first show about? And, awesome that you got such a great seat - your friend's mom reminds me of mine, she would have done the same thing for me! Were you the only one who got to sit in the middle/floor seats? If so, that's shocking. - Yeah! The staff @ the entrance were like "Hey we have 6 seats if you want to come on in for Show A"- First show was about "transgender" & 2 people who went through it are interviewed. It was intense...- I was on the left wing of the floor, so I was facing on a slant - part looking @ the stage, part looking @ the audience- The 14 girls got to sit in the middle section of the floor, one row in the middle & a few seats further back- Other forum members & my friend/her mom/their family friend sat on the risers Ha! I had a feeling the whooooole time she was gonna sing ''A Song for You''. Don't know why, just did. So did she sing it with a track or did someone play the piano? Thanks for all the updates and pictures. Sounds like all of you had the time of your lives! Celine looks gorgeous! - She sang to a track So she only sang A song for you? - She sang ASFY and a surprise duet (more like a quintet) of Hallelujah Well since she talked about the miscarriage she probably said sth if she has given up or not... Girls, can you clear this up? Celine said that she is on her 5th try and since 5 is her lucky number, perhaps it will work out this time. And she said that it's okay if they end up not having another child. She didn't say anything else about wanting to try more or give up. ------------------------------- As for her management putting the kibosh on the Vegas news - of course they would!Anyway I think they'd rather wait for the official announcement on Oprah to air before the whole world finds out.I think it sounds really cool with having an orchestra. As for the songs & styles, I'm sure what she said were all ideas that they've discussed. So it can potentially change, whatnot... And everyone needs to stop being so negative & judgmental that all she wants is money....etc etc etc.I'm sure she sees it as stability again for the family and still doing what she loves - performing & entertaining! The best of both worlds in her eyes. Attention to family, attention to fans & general viewers. Edited February 4, 2010 at 02:05 PM by kerche Quote - Kerry -
Claudette Posted February 4, 2010 at 02:04 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 02:04 PM (edited) Geez, there are a lot of cry babies on this forum today. First people were going on about the fact that Celine can't sing anymore in another topic, and now about the Vegas thing and the fact that Celine contradicts herself and her bad song choice for Oprah. It is very annoying reading all this crap! How is Celine contradicting herself? She said she would go back even before the final ''A New Day'' show. I can't believe people are still going on about this. We've been over it a gazillion times before. She is just doing 70 shows a year... She would have plenty of time to rest and do other things people... Just relax! There is nothing wrong with ''A Song For You''. It might not become a hit, but the words are beautiful and in my opinion it gives Celine the opertunity to sing... and do just that... no gimmicks. I really hope she sang it with someone playing just the piano... If you ask me, Celine's team know less than some people on this forum. Maybe they don't even know about the Vegas plans... Edit: She sang to a track, ok then I'm mad about it too. Why did she then not at least get someone to play the piano... Would have made it so much more special. I'm assuming no Maria Callas then? I think the meetings they had with what's his name in Belgium and all the talk about a movie career and the big orchestra thing obviously is then for the new Vegas show. Bralo20 Posted February 4, 2010 at 02:40 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 02:40 PM Economic crisis? Probably but not the way you think... Las Vegas is hit very hard by the economical crisis and the city is actually desperate to attract people to spend money... Now that the worst should be over they need something to attract people to Vegas... I assume that Harrah's (probably even with support of the city itself and other parties) have made Céline an offer they could not refuse anymore... While Céline "only" attacted a couple of thousand people each day to Vegas it gave the city a serious boost... People were travelling from all over the world to see Céline and Vegas... And most of them stayed for a couple of days and spend a decent amount of money, a lot of those came back multiple times, not only for Céline but because they started to like Vegas... Vegas started to become a city that was appropriate for families... Céline left Vegas on the worst possible time for Vegas itself... While 2008 was a rather decent year, economics crashed and Vegas wasn't attractive anymore... Prices decreased on a massive scale, people didn't return to Vegas, Vegas became on certain days a small ghost city (been there, saw it last year, it was terrible to see)... Now the city is in need to get on tracks again... People have to start going to Vegas again and while prices are very attractive there is nothing special why people should go to Vegas... Bette Midler? Cher? Elton John? No, Vegas is in need for a name that is famous around the world, something the city can brag about... So that's the point where Céline's name is mentioned again... Together with the rising economics it will be a guaranteed succes... I don't think we'll will know the exact amount that would be paid for the deal but I assume it will extend the previous deal on a large scale... Anyway, I've always loved Vegas and I enjoy Céline's music so I won't essitate to go to Vegas to see a show Quote ...

Dionesque Posted February 4, 2010 at 02:48 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 02:48 PM (edited) It's so good to see so many things Céline going on these days! Ádám, thank you for your beautiful photos you took of Céline in her car!! They are so clear, sharp and beautiful - they remind me of that one gorgeous pic you took when she was leaving the arena in Vienna! Also, you can imagine how happy I am for you that now you too have finally realized your dream to meet Céline! After all these years, after our misfortune at the airport in Vienna and all that... So great for you - I'm sure it will remain on of the best moments in your life!! May we see you pic with Céline?? Tracy. Kimbo, Kim (Celinefeak05), Marina, Carla, Sarah, Kerry: thank you all for your reviews and insights!! Even without them I was sure you've got an amazing time in Chicage but now you've even topped my expectations, hehe! I'm happy for you all to have meet up again and of course to have met our Girl! Am I the only one who's not disappointed about Céline singing "ASFY"??... I mean, of course each one of us would probably wish for a different song for her to sing but I accept it's her choice and still I'm really glad she picked a less popular or actually almost unknown song, if it's not for us, fans. OK, it's a slow, rather sad song - so what? Still it's a beautiful song and I bet Céline sang hell out of it!! So can't wait to see this show after it will available for download (as I don't get any channel that airs Oprah here). What makes me bit more considered is the possible setting of the new Las Vegas show - I'm not that fond of big orchestrations, would so much prefer to see just Céline singing, along with a few necessery musical instruments accompaniate her... But oh well, it's again her choice and if she feels like doing a show with a big orchestra - just wait and see and actually I'm sure whatever she'll bring on, most of us will be amazed and whoever of us will get the chance - we'll be heading to Vegas to see it live, no matter what! Roll on, February 10th! Oh, and yeah, I also hope the final date will be set on very soon when the Vegas tickets will go on sale - I really hope it won't be that short-termed as it has been with tickets for Paris shows (and some other places' shows) of the world tour...
