dj4celine Posted February 5, 2010 at 08:41 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 08:41 AM Woah, some of us really can't stick to the topic, eh? Anyways, hope this won't be the last time Celine would be on Oprah before she stops the show. Celine + Oprah = Huge Sales In this case, let's see how much the Celine and Oprah effect would have on the movie revenue even if it is a limited release. Quote

Anyone else think this is weird? A New Day opened on a Tuesday Fourth: I'm totally planning a trip to Las Vegas with another forum member JessCC You're not supposed to tell people we're FRIENDS! But yeah, we are SO planning a trip together! sorry And ok René and Céline now know about this forum. I'm not gonna say who told me this, but last week when we were still trying to figure out whether or not this movie was going to play in SA, someone phoned SONY SA again, so the person ended up talking to some guy (not saying his name). Anyway, the guy said that they are still working on getting the movie here. But then all of a sudden he asked the person if he/she knew that Celine is pregnant. So obviously the person said well yeah but she lost the baby. So the dude asked: When?. The person said August. Then he said no, she is pregnant again. So I wonder where the hell he got that information from, considering everything that is going on. I mean, I'm pretty sure the guy was talking rubbish, considering she said on Oprah that they are still trying. Any thoughts? Edit: Does anyone else also find it a bit weird that an employee of SONY would give a random person such information when Celine herself did not announce anything yet. I mean, the dude must seriously know how fast information like that spread on the internet... I don't know, I think it was totally weird... Javito Posted February 5, 2010 at 11:15 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 11:15 AM I COMPLETELY agree. There is a huge difference between critisism and just being plain hurtful. Maybe a live orchestra will bring something NEW to Vegas? Maybe Celine wants to be able to do something that makes her happy, IE perform but maybe she doesn't feel like she can do a worldwide tour so soon or one after the other and Vegas is the best thing for her and her family? She could have sang NOTHING ON OPRAH. NOTHING AT ALL and people are b****ing about ASFY? She dedicated the damned song to US. It WAS NOT random at all, as I said before, dedicated it to US! HELLO! And we all think that we could do lots better than Rene and Sony etc regarding aspects of her career and I think we could probably be as good or better especially in the singles department, but maybe we can't! We really don't know if FA or SOL would have been popular! Younger Celine fans are the minority compared to younger GaGa and Taylor Swift fans who are the majority which is why they get so much airplay. People complain their booties off at Mariah Carey acting like she is 20 again and "singing" the songs she does, because they miss classic ballad Mariah. I'd take Classic Celine with an edge, IE Taking Chances over any newage Celine trying to sing a Bad Romance or an Obsessed type song [no offense to M or Gaga, honestly]. I hope Celine doesn't come on here because I don't want her to see such negative things! Thats my opinion. I love this forum, we get great info and the majority of people on here make me laugh and smile and are really awesome, but people [including myself sometimes] are so quick to shove things out there without thinking all the way through and if they are thinking all the way through, then they should think harder! LOL! And lastly, Stevo you are so cute. There, after a year it had to be said. hehe Yeah, that's true, but at least we do know that she's not having success with songs like My Love being sent to the radios , so as long as they don't take the chance to try those others songs... Agree with your Mariah Carey comment. Her fans are missing her to sing the opposite we are missing Céline to do here Ah they can never satisfy everyone Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
browseceline Posted February 5, 2010 at 11:23 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 11:23 AM i agree about Mariah.. she used to sing big ballads, like Hero and Without you.. and now the only thing she does is singing low quality r&b crap, and she also looks trashy nowadays.. so that was her decision to do so. Celine would never do such a thing, going extreme to please the audience of today. She goes her own way and does where she is good at. Cesdra Posted February 5, 2010 at 11:36 AM Posted February 5, 2010 at 11:36 AM I have to say, I disagree with the comments regarding "A Song For You". Yes, on the first, superficial look it seems to be a "typical Céline ballad" but I don't think it is. It is a very well written and very well recorded song. It expresses its lyrics through itself, through the way it was composed. I also think that the freedom it gives Céline and the pianist (or orchestra) during the performance is a completely new style for her. The song in itself is almost "classical" in that way. It really isn't just a boring ballad! As for Céline doing more uptempo songs - I think she wants to sing them and she knows that the fans like them. She said so herself in the recording sessions. She also said she is glad she finally gets these songs and can record them. I think Taking Chances is probably THE best Céline album ever - because it is so versatile. It would have been a flop hadn't she not included so many songs that seem un-Céline! You can only do so many albums that are alike and coming back with the same old stuff after such a long break wouldn't have worked. She made the right decision and the sale numbers should give her enough confidence to stay on this track, musically, and explore different types of songs in the future! Quote

Yeah, I don't know. I find all of this very weird to say the least. If she is pregnant, would she have done the Grammys, Oprah and all the other stuff she did the last two weeks though? Something else that I find weird is the fact that she told Michel in that interview that they are going to do the 5th one the same time the show airs and that there were no pictures of her in New York... I mean if she is pregnant but didn't want to say anything, why does she not just say they are still waiting for the results instead of saying that they are trying. Dion1st Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:29 PM Posted February 5, 2010 at 12:29 PM If Celine or her team doesn't know about this forum or what is going on in the internet, we should stop hopping for something fresh for her next album. Come on! Your are only 41! No 80 like your husband Just great. Another lousy, disrespectful remark. If Celine ever wants to know who is slinging the most insulting and hurtful comments at herself and Rene she only has to come to CelineDionForum.com to read how many of her -fans- slam her bigtime. I've followed this woman over 15 years, the press has been brutal to her countless times, and yet I have never once been aware of her speaking any cruel, mean or insulting words towards anyone. How very ironic that she can constantly count on fans here to direct so many verbal insults and attacks aimed at her and Rene. And everyone wants or hopes that she and Rene come here to read what fans are saying and doing?? Are you kidding? It's sickening. It's one thing to be disappointed by a song, or appearance or hairstyle or Las Vegas, etc., etc. No big deal, I've been there myself. But the cruel and snide remarks on here directed towards Celine and husband are unnecessary and disgusting so many times. When I am on a high about news regarding a new dvd, cd, tv appearance, concert, etc. I only need to come to this forum to knock some of that joy right out of me. Not that I expect anyone to care, but it's depressing and I'm guessing I am not alone feeling this way. This latest insult set me off, however, I'm not naiive and don't expect anything to change here. Sometimes, I sure miss the old Destin mailing list. Toni If u think what I wrote was an insult u really have a problem, I don't think I have to explain the meaning of the word irony..I love Celine and Rene like couple but I don't always agree with Rene's (or Celine) decisions like manager, THAT'S ALL Manu NO. I don't have a problem about this, whatsoever. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. Disrespect is disrespect, Period. And there is a disgusting, surplus amount of the latter on this board. Apologies for going OT again. Looking so forward to watching Oprah on Wednesday, though! That's what I don't understand That for sure is the big question, and has been so for a while. The release of EOM, made me shout out the question loudly. I mean, yes great that was a bit risky (right on concept "taking chances") and a catchy tune, which was fun and I really believed in as a single. But why they hell did they release it exclusivly in the UK?! The only country in which she hasn't had a hit since Think Twice, which was a ballad, and now test driving this new uptempo track there where they're obiously quite cold when it comes to her. Add to that doin a live TV special there, known for being live, all lipped, which didn't gain her further popularity. Yet they choose to test drive the single there, with no promo attached. It doesn't go too well - no wonder! And they decide not to release it as a single worldwide but goes with the booring too safe choice of Alone instead. I mean serously, it's like they wanted Eyes On Me to fail, so they could say "see, up tempo doesn't work, we must release old style ballad instead". And I can't see the reason for that. I truly can't. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

Lucie Posted February 5, 2010 at 02:38 PM Posted February 5, 2010 at 02:38 PM awww girls you're famous!!!! great article!! I love the picture too! there comes a time in any relationship where you need to evaluate the good and the bad. if you are complaining about everything Celine does, maybe it's time to stop being a fan. I seem to get into this every time I start coming here regularly, which is why I tend to keep up with the 'good apples' elsewhere (twitter/LJ/facebook) is ASFY my favorite song? no. am I excited to hear her sing it? yes! anything is better than the songs we hear all the time! you also have to remember, most 'fans' that are not on this forum look to her to sing the stuff we're sick of. whenever I talk to people at concerts that aren't people here, they're like "OH I hope she sings BYLM or MYWGO!" I was listening to the radio this morning and people were complaining about a local John Mayer concert last night because he sang all his new stuff and no old hits. I've heard similar complaints about other artists. we are NOT in the majority when we want Celine to sing all of her new stuff. so I really am just happy that we get to hear something we haven't heard live before even if it isn't my first choice Quote facebook // twitter
the power of celine Posted February 5, 2010 at 02:53 PM Posted February 5, 2010 at 02:53 PM tight lipped? what else do you need to know? we already have almost a play by play of what happened. I'm sure they didn't memorize everything she said. lol. Keep in mind too, a lot of people that went are probably traveling home today. I don't think talking about LV is off topic...since that was one of the big announcements. Also, Celine has said she doesn't feel like she needs to prove anything anymore. Why would she perform songs she doesn't want to, just to gain new fans? She doesn't really need to try anything she doesn't want to if she does a new album ethier...or to be number one again. I don't think that's her concern. She has already achieved everything any singer could dream about, she has millions of fans, now she's just having fun with it. I think with TC she was trying new things for herself, not to be on top of the charts. She has all the money she could ever need, she has so many dedicated fans, and so many number ones. I think now, she's just having fun with her career and just trying to keep her most loyal fan base happy by still being the old Celine we fell in love with and yet sharing new things with us. You were all hoping she wouldn't sing BYLM or MYWGO or any other song we have heard 10000 times, and she didn't. People were also hoping she wouldn't go back and do the same old A New Day, mixed with a little bit of the TC tour...and she's not. She's giving US the FANS new experiences. If people that aren't fans haven't picked up by now that she's the best singer out there...they obviously have bad taste and aren't going to change their minds by her singing an up-tempo song.
