A Greatest Hits Album would blow sales throw the roof and I think it is a great idea before Celine goes on a break again. I would also love to see a 2 disc version like the french got So I am going to put two idea and here are mine. My first is the one I would like to see if we have to have a one disc.

Well yeah, he's right....Greatest Hits albums are usually targeted for non-fans, the 'general audience'.... most of the times they're released in the X-mas period (if the artist has no new album out). And usually they sell quite well..... look at ATW now, it's even selling better than TC in some countries!

Yea just look at Cher and Whitney Houston... Best Ofs and Greatest Hits every other year... Great to see Céline is getting in line with has beens who desperatly tries to remain in the spot light by milking their old hits rather than reventing themselves.

 

No one is with me on having the wonderful I've Got The Music In Me on this best of?! She made it superbly on tour, too bad it said adios, there are lots of other songs I'd like to see excluded before this one...

Just wondering what good is this survey, if Sony has ceased "promoting" Celine as a precious artist. We can not probably bring back the good old days of Falling Into You or Let's Talk About Love, but at the rate things are going, Sony is not even showing any signs of renewed faith or interest to promote Celine the way she deserves to be marketed. In short, people at Sony do what they want anyways so 'makes me really think why we even bother. Just an opinion...

I have finally thought through what I want the album to be like for it to be interesting enough for me to buy, yet essential for those who want a greatest hits + reasonable.

 

The concept: As a follow up to her latest GH All The Way... A Decade of Song, complementing the tracks which were missed on it (ignoring TCS vol 1) plus adding hits from 2002 to date. The album should be seen as a "all the way the sequal" plus songs that didn't make it on there plus great tracks since. Plus wrapping it all in Céline style with a "personal touch" presenting the album as a compilation of what Celine Dion stands for (therefor the need of a tracklist with a wide perspective, one song from Miracle needed coz of that - I choose MPO simply coz that's the highest quality track of the album a masterpiece, could be exchanged for In Some Small Way). Title: I've Got The Music In Me - Two Decades of Song. This making the way for "special" boxes also featuring ATW.

 

Because of the concept explained above, I wont include tracks such as MHWGO,BYLM,IACBTMN and TTWII, since they already are on ATW.

 

The 16 track limit has forced me to exlude these dear tracks: Eyes On Me, Calling You (live), Next Plane Out, Reveal, Call The Man, The Reason, If I Can Dream, Seduces Me, Us, Sorry For Love (02 version), Just Walk Away, Everybody's Talking My Baby Down, Only One Road

 

My idea is to release it as two different versions (as with ATW) and this to contemplate the tracks being on one version of ATW and missed on the other. (I and TT missed on US version, LCMM and IYAMT missed on European version).

I decided it being nessesary to include tracks like Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way and The Prayer in order to "reclaim" these as Céline hits. Other artists have covered these tracks after Céline recorded them and therefor making Céline's versions fall into oblivion. Just Walk Away should had been on there for that reason too but I didn't find space for it.

ATW was a combination of her hits with the new songs she recorded. at least with that we got new material. GH's????????? what's that????? ????????? i'm sure a lot of people have the albums, if they liked a particular song at the time of the album release, i'm sure they would have bought it. i don't think there is need to target "non-fans". if they haven't bought any of the other albums they sure as hell ain't going to be buying GH's. the record companies really must be getting desperate to think that they can put out a GH's of an artist. i might as well put all my albums in the player and hit auto replay. that's how exciting this project is.

Coz its a mistake to release now a GH if its only going to include all the same tracks as All The Way Its just stupid, because people already can buy All The Way to listen those songs, and wont stand another Céline album that shows once again the same songs.

 

That's why I would say that a TCSV.2 is the best option

Ummm... Okay, I know that, most likely, none of these track listings you guys are offering, will make it as the final thing on a new Celine Dion compilation, but what I've noticed is that you're all asking for the same songs, as in the same with each other, but also the same songs that were included on All The Way... in 1999 and The Collector's Series Volume One in 2000. I'm familiar with the fact that "The Power of Love", "Think Twice", "Because You Loved Me" and "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" as well as "My Heart Will Go On" are Celine's signature songs. But still, shouldn't we be asking for songs that have not been released on a previous compilation? And another little note, I've noticed that some people are actually adding songs on their lists that haven't even been released as any form of single (physical, radio, or digital); I'd understand if these songs were rare or unreleased, but they're not. They're just random songs.

 

I'm sorry if I come off as snobbish or rude, I would like to clarify that that is not my purpose. This message is not meant as a lecture or a complaint, but for of a general and personal notice.

Well if you noticed....Sony asked for her greatest HITS.. And the songs you just mentioned are her [greatest] hits, hence why they've been posted. Believe me, if it's the fan's choice, none of those songs would be on it, but it isn't and it isn't a 'fan album'..
