re edition of TC album and (if there's one) TC live album that's enough...

But that kinda defeats the point of the whole 'Greatest Hits' aspect

But hey. I can dream.

 

Oh and throw in at least a couple new unreleased songs!

It's probably wishful thinking, but I would prefer an album from 2000-on rather than have songs that have already been included on the greatest hits albums...

If I have to hear "Because You Loved Me" one more time, I might scream! They need a 2000-on compilaton. Let's wait another 10 years before we have a box set or a "On ne change pas"-type recording. Her english career, IMHO, is too short for a HUGE compilation just yet.

 

Agree . It won't have any sense to release another compilation that includes BYLM, IACBTMN etc etc. We already have the great All The Way for that. Sony please NO!!!

 

Yes but fancy having a greatest hits album without them??? It wouldn't appeal to everybody, keeping in mind that many people out there only have the albums of Falling Into You, Let's Talk About Love and All The Way, I'm over those songs too I hear them all the time and they will forever be attached to Celine but they couldn't be ignored on a GH album because the are 2 of her greatest English hits...

 

That's why I say that in that case they already have All The Way to purchase . We can't be releasing and buying the same songs of Céline eternally over and over again. The Collector's Series Volume X was a good idea to release songs that are less known but still great, and some are as good as her "hits"

I just have to fuel the "only three hits since the last Greatest Hits album" subject: the only way to not make this a total disaster is by applying a wish I've had for some time, but that would take to put Céline back into studio again:

 

An album with her greatest hits (from Unison to I'm Alive) all re-done (no I ain't taking about a freakin remastering). New production, new approach to those old hits, still recognisable, but still refrechened.

 

A lot of artists does this, why not Céline? That would please all fans, by giving new versions of songs they've played one to many times, and the general public who would like to have a greatest hits from this living legend.

 

Coz let's face it, what good is a greatest hits, if the fans don't have much motivation to buy it, and the general public are already somwhat tired of her.

Releasing another greatest hits cd is the "most stupidest" (I know there is no such combination, but I guess there is no such grammatical graduality, which could describe the stupidity of SONY) SONY has ever had, and they've sucked really badly lately. So this is like reaching the edge of a canyon and then taking a step forward...

 

However, if they'd wanna do a best of from the time after ATW, may be:

It was really hard to keep this a 16-track list. If Sony is planning on releasing a Greatest Hits album (which I thought they did already with All The Way), then they should at least make it 2 discs. There are so many songs to choose from (and while going through my iTunes list it was boggling to see that only 4 of them made it to #1 in the US). I think duets (Beauty and the Beast, I'm Your Angel, Immortality) should be excluded from this album in the event they decide to release a duets album in the future. Looking through everyone's lists I've seen a lot of songs that really can't be considered "hits." I think those would be better suited for "The Collector's Series: Volume 2."

I think people are missing the concept of "Greatest Hits." Why are people putting live versions of songs and songs that were never released as singles? They didn't say "put together 16 songs you want on a cd," it's GREATEST HITS. Meaning the songs people know and were played on the radio and did well on the radio. The songs Celine is known for. And it's not FRENCH, it's ENGLISH.

 

How can we be taken seriously when we're coming up with such ridiculous lists! This has to be realistic.
