"My Love: Essential Collection" album - Official Topic

It doesn't matter what's on this Best Of CD because Sony will not promote it like they did her last 3 studio albums. If you want to even bother with a CD, get some promotion other than putting Celine on Oprah, get her on radio, especially top 40, and make it worthwhile.

Now as for songs to include, I'd include the radio edit of Nothing Broken But My Heart, Misled, and All By Myself.
Why does everybody have to be so negative about everything? First people complain because they say Sony doesn't care about the fans, now they're complaining that Sony is actually asking us our advice! What do you want!? Maybe Sony hasn't done the best to promote Celine's new CD, but at least they are asking our opinion, which was one of the earlier compaints I have read.

Because Sony has let us down too many times before. I mean Taking Chances was supposed to put Celine back on the map, and what hapened was we ended up doing better promo than the label did. Like I said, even if they let us choose the tracklisting, what are they going to do to support the release? "Oh just stick her on Oprah." No, that doesn't cut it. Look at what Def Jam did for Mariah. They went all out for her and she got her biggest opening of her career. What did Sony do? They couldn't be bothered to send Taking Chances for adds at any format except AC. Imagine if Sony did half as much for Celine. Taking Chances would've been huge, and the album wouldn't be struggling to reach 1 million.

From what I recall, in the interviews leading up to the release of "Taking Chances", Celine said she was recording this CD for herself and her fans. She doesn't care if it's number one because she doesn't feel the need to "prove" herself anymore. On top of that, she obviously doesn't need too much PR because almost every one of her concerts on this tour has been sold out so far. Maybe Mariah needed more PR because she hasn't done anything worth remembering in the past few years, where as Celine has had a record-breaking, well-recieved show for the past five years!

Well... May be, what I say would be a surprise to "SONY"

but... I live in Russia. Here, in 1990s, were a plenty of "pirate" tape cassettes - which were not used under lisence. I know that it's not good but it was the only possibility for us to listen Celine's songs, because there were no official licensed albums. Various "albums" were selling - "Greatest Hits", "Best Ballads", "Greatest Ballads", "Best of Celine Dion" and many others. Actually it was what "SONY' is going to release now

Many Celine's hits were included in these "albums" - "FIY", "BYLM", "MHWGO", "TPOL", "CTM" and others. I started listening Celine with the help of such "album" - "Best Ballads". It contained 12 songs: "Think Twice", "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore", "Falling Into You", "Only One Road", "I Love You", "The Power Of Love" on side A; and "Because You Loved Me", "Love Doesn't Ask Why", "Je Sais Pas", "It's All Coming Back To Me Now", "The Colour Of My Love", "Call The Man" on side B. Later, when the licensed CDs and DVDs have been started selling, of course, it was like a fresh air for russian fans. But before it those unlicensed albums were the only chance for us to listen to the voice of our dear Celine.

Ummmmm.. a greatest hits album?! That would be fantastic =). Pity there can only be 16 songs though, as every single song that Celine sings is incredible.If I had my way, every song Celine songs would be included. If I absolutely had to choose, mine would be:

1) I Drove All Night (Because it was the opening song of her 'Taking Chances' tour and now every time I listen to it I get goosebumps thinking of that amazing night).

2)Because You Loved Me (When singing this song in Dublin 30th May, Celine did something that may seem like nothing to some, but for me it touched me completely. As Celine sang the words 'My world is a better place beacuse of you', when she got to 'you', she pointed her finger at every single person in the crowd. I knew she truely meant the words she was singing).

3)It's All Coming Back To Me Now (This song sends shivers right through me. It is fantastic & Celine sings it in a way that no one else could possibly do).

4)Taking Chances (This song inspired the whole tour to take place and for that reason I feel it should be included on Celine's 'Greatest Hits' album. She sings it so beautifully. This would also add a touch of her new music to the album, which is, of course, just as fabulous as her older songs).

5)The Prayer (I am left speechless when it comes to this song. This shows how Celine's voice can be strong yet soothing. Also during this, Celine sings in Italian with Andrea Botcelli, and even though I have no idea what she is saying, I can relate to every part she sings, just because of how she sings it).

6)I'm Alive (Celine also performed this song on her 'Taking Chances' tour and it was phenomenal. She performed a kind of dance version of the song, while still singing the lyrics the way they are originally).

7)Goodbye's The Saddest Word. (I have no doubt that this song has touched the lives of everyone who has ever listened to Celine singing it. It's sensational & shows how important a mother's love is.)

8)Right In Front Of You (I adore this song. It's fabulous)

9)My Love (One of my favourite songs on the 'Taking Chances' album. It's a beautiful song, sung by an even more beautiful singer. Celine performed this song in concert by firstly, starting to sing with no music. This sent shivers through the whole of Dublin. It simply cannot be described.)

10)All The Way (This is a song that Celine sings so fabulously with Frank Sinatra. From reading her book and watching interviews, I have learned that all of Celine's songs each have a different meaning to her. I also know that this particular ong is very important to her as it is a song that both her and her husband love. It is only fair to Celine, that we include this song on her greatest hits.)

11) The Power Of Love (Celine performs an unbeatable version of this song every time she sings it. No one has, can or ever will be able to sing it like she can.)

12)A World To Believe In (This is another song from Celine's most recent album 'Taking Chances'. I adore this song as it is so inspiring. The lyrics are so uplifting and are sung gorgeously by Celine).

13)Then You Look At Me (This song comes from Celine's album 'All The Way A Decade Of Song'. It's such a beautiful song, and the notes that Celine sings in it takes me into a whole new world).

14)To Love You More (Absolutely amazing song. From the moment the violin begins to play until the moment Celine finishes that phenomenal note at the end, I cannot help but sing along to every lyric.)

15) A New Day Has Come (This song shows what Celine has sang about for so long, finally coming true. It's a beautiful song and has to be included on her greatest hits.)

16)My Heart Will Go On (You didn't think I was going to leave this one out did you? Celine almost always ends her shows with this song, therefore I believe it would be a fantastic way to end her greatest hits.)

*Bonus track would have to be 'Think Twice'. Celine rocked Croke Park, Dublin with this song, and it is without a doubt one of her greatest hits.

Just a little update on this topic....

I have learned that ''My Love'' is to be on this new album but.... it is to be re-recorded, into the version that Celine performs on this tour, as it was very well received.

And there will be a single on there, that did not make the ''Taking Chances'' album.

But what it is, I can't say at the minute.

I will have more updates over the coming weeks!

But by the "Taking Chances" album, which one do you mean?? The standard one or the Japan release one?? If it is the former, TRIGO, MTMH or LMBYS may be the single :w00t:

"My Love" live version would be amazing and if they decide to include IA, why not the live version as well??

i understand you can't tell us the single title but can you tell us do you know at all? or is it still unknown... and can you sum up or sth how it's gonna like? they will release cd with songs from 2002 or just hits like TPOL MHWGO? and have they said that they will gonna look on our lists?
