For the life of me I can't figure out why songs like "Where does my heart beat now" and "All by myself" were absent from "All the way"--they were Billboard hot 100 TOP TEN HITS!!! they charted HIGHER than "Love can move mountains" which made the tracklist.

 

So......."Where does my heart beat now" "All by myself" "Tell him" (HUGE hit in Europe, AC hit in the states/canada) "Nothing Broken but my heart" (#1 adult contemporary hit in the year '92-93.......TOP 30 hit on billboard

WDMHBN is slightly overrated if you ask me. The true hit single of that album should be I Love You, Goodbye. Plus I read somewhere that Céline herself did not like WDMHBN, hense the reason why it wsa excluded from tour setlists.

 

Tell Him is super duperly overrated. Simply coz ithas Streisand's voice on it doesn't make it a hit. Their vocals don't sound well together, sounds like nails on a blackboard.

 

And for One Heart, the most hated track of her entire carreer among fans, would be rediculous to include.

oke I don't wanna sound cocky... but WDMHBN is from Unison... not Celine Dion (yes is was a bonus track, but not a single from that album ) well she didn't like to perform it anymore, cos she sang it a million times. I whish she took that remark more to heart and drop 50% of her setlist

Probably because they didn't want to release a real Best Of album at the time (since Celine was still at her peak). Some of her best hits were left out so they could be included in a future "real" Greatest Hits... That's how I see it...

Oh cocky boy!! I knew that but had temporarily forgotten.

 

Oh and Unison was the real hit of that album... forgotten hit at least and very underrated.

 

Yes, I wish she could be more apply that on her tour setlist aswell...

Since it's called a "greatest hits album" you simply can't make an album with all different songs than the ones that are...well hits. Of course it would be nice to have some songs that are just beautiful and not make this a compilation like the ones we already have (All The Way, Live in Las Vegas (which I consider one). So considering this, here is my list:

3. Have A Heart (because this is the song that was her first english success and resulted in an international record deal) (and it's a great song!)

4. If Only You Could See Me Now (breathtaking)

6. The Power Of Love (a new version would be nice, because the original is already on All The Way)

7. Think Twice LIVE (because her live version is soooo beautiful)

8. Just Walk Away (soooooooooo good! Why wasn't this ever a wordlwide release?)

11. Because You Loved Me (new version)

12. All By Myself

13. River Deep, Mountain High

14. Tell Him

15. My Heart Will Go On (it's her greatest hit, so it's unavoidable, but please in a different version!)

personally, since many fans have at least all, most or many of her studio albums, i think that the ULTIMATE GREATEST HITS would feature not the original tracks, but rather, tracks that were remade, remixed, and possibly with a certain theme, like strings, guitars, or hell, a SYMPHONY! so this is what i think would be really fun, and i do not know if anyone has mentioned this before, but if so, then my apologies and i agree fullly... : )

 

secondly, personally, i would prefer for MUCH or (omg) ALL of her un-released songs to be made eventually available on THE COLLECTOR'S SERIES...

My Love re-recording would be so awesome. I was just listening to this song last night ( along with the whole TC album). I think it would be cool if they just did an unplugged album even though I know this idea has been given before but I still think it would be something different for Celine to do.

i know i have mentioned this before, but is anyone out there interested in a SYMPHONIC greatest hits collection? much like DAVE STEWART's collection, CELINE's would feature some of her greatest hits, but re-arranged, and possibly re-recorded to suit a full orchestra; i personally think this would be absolutely SUBLIME! peace!

I think if they wanted to be serious about including a cd full of her actual hits the track listing would be more than 16 tracks and would look something like this:

All of those songs were her actual biggest chart hits. A lot of people (including myself before) didn't know that "Nothing Broken But My Heart" had done so well. It was a number one AC hit and went top 10 on Pop Radio! It's lower peak on the Hot 100 is misleading. I included "The Prayer" into this list because it seems to be a song that is memorable outside of her hits for non Celine fans and has stood the test of time and I included "The Power Of The Dream" because I believe it to be one of Celine's career highlights. Also of course I had to throw in 2 new songs to give the buyer even more reason to purchase the cd! hehe

 

 

As for a Best Of cd I would personally like the track listing to look like this (excluding US chart hits):

Just a little update on this topic....

 

I have learned that ''My Love'' is to be on this new album but.... it is to be re-recorded, into the version that Celine performs on this tour, as it was very well received.

 

And there will be a single on there, that did not make the ''Taking Chances'' album.

But what it is, I can't say at the minute.

 

I will have more updates over the coming weeks!

I really hope Sony comes up with a better CD then just a remake of All the way, because no matter how much I love that album, I dont want to buy a 'new' album which is basically the same except the songs have been shuffled, they have taken a few new photographs and changed the cover. I want songs that are great, some unrealeased and new songs otherwise I aint gonna waste my money on it, like I have done with the Collectors series vol 1.

 

Come on, Sony, you have a chance to make a great album, dont turn it into another collection of the same songs. PLEASE!
