i wonder how EOM sounds like, i think it's an good remix, and good to have Will.I.Am in it, but when i think sony it's only for this special an not an single release... again an missed shot...

about the tour... i think they use a lot of precorded stuff... but i really really dont get it... the Oprah show was shown on tv this week here, and there she proved that she can sing those songs live live live... and in AND she lips those songs... it always sounds the same, you exacttly know how she will sounds or how she pronounce things... become's boring sometimes...

the oprahshow was cool to watch, sounded much more fun

People seem to be forgetting that Celine Dion songs are very difficult to sing live IN SUCCESSION. Even for Celine herself and especially now that she's almost 40. Of course, she could have elected to do everything live but after the first half of this special, fatigue will creep in, her singing will stop being perfect and the people around here will start complaining.

I'm sure that some songs will be lipped during her world tour. And the live ones will be in lower keys. More than 100 concerts in a very compressed schedule and you expect her to sing everything live, in the same perfect way as the album versions? Give me a break. She could sing everything for real if her songs were as sleepy as Norah Jones songs but they are structured to challenge her vocal dynamism to the fullest.

Well after reading all of this I'm only looking forward to the live songs and EOM. I don't get it why she is doing this. In England I thought ok she has trouble with her voice so but now she could easyly sing live.

We should write a letter to someone in her team maybe Patrick and state our concerns and that we know and really getting fed up with it. And really if she is going to do this on tour the Vegas songs and from a tape etc. I'm going to be very disappointed. I really want to express my concerns to someone near her to warn them.

I'm sure that some songs will be lipped during her world tour. And the live ones will be in lower keys. More than 100 concerts in a very compressed schedule and you expect her to sing everything live, in the same perfect way as the album versions? Give me a break. She could sing everything for real if her songs were as sleepy as Norah Jones songs but they are structured to challenge her vocal dynamism to the fullest.

Just to let you guys know, RDMH was absolutely live! It had to be because the audio, music and everything completely went out with about 45 seconds of the song to go. It went out and Celine had stopped...she didn't continue to "lip" as you guys say she did. If she was "lipping" she would have continued beyond the song and it would have been completely obvious! Yes, the majority of it was lipped, but there were live songs as well.

I really can't believe majority of you can even sit there and call yourself a fan with how negatively your talking about this show. I was there tonight as well and let me tell you.. i could careless if she lip sang or sang live. All i cared about was that celine was performing her #ss off PERIOD. You act as if she is some new singer trying to prove a point. SHe has been doing this since she was 12 years old... she has NOTHING to prove anymore. It is obvious she can sing. We've watched her record the songs, we've watched her do rehersals... what more do you need from this woman? Her job is to entertain.. and if you ask me..she OVER DELIVERS in entertainment every single time she performs. Towards the end of the tonight.. after being on stage for 3 hours.. she was STILL making sure the AUDIENCE was doing well.. cracking jokes left and right... working her #ss off to make it a great show. So she lipped majority of the songs. As if she's never sang those songs live in her entire life? COME ON!...

If everyone is entitled to complain about tonight.. then i am entitled to complain about you all complaining. I actually feel horrible to think that her people may read these posts. It just seriously baffles my mind. She is a human being. She is an entertainer. If she came on stage and just sat there and didnt talk to anyone and liped the songs and walked off stage.. then ok.. i get it. She was hilarious tonight and just seeing her in person is enough for me.

Whatever... these rude posts are just so baffling and seriously so ridiculous. I can't even believe a celine dion fan place would begin to compare her to britney spears too of all people.. WOW. I can't even say anything more..

When did Celine actually sing live in a CBS special? ATW was lipped and so was TAST. Oh, yes, yes, ANDHC was live! Back when she was fresh from a 2-year hiatus, back when there were no 35 freakin' songs to rehearse for a world tour, back when there were no punishing promo tours and a Vegas run to recover from, back when RC was easier to look after, back when she didn't have to record 2 very good albums in the same calendar year. :xmas_rolleyes:

I would rather see an X-factor style performance than a lipped performance any day of the week. I am sure most fans feel the same way I do too. We don't expect her to sing live as good as she does on CD. No artist can do that, well maybe Celine in the old days. The point is, is not that we want a perfect vocal, it's that we want an actual vocal performance and not a lipped one. That is not too much to ask for as it is her job. If she can't sing 12 songs live in one special, one time in a month than she doesn't need to sing anymore period. If her vocals are so weakened by doing this than that is her own fault, because she doesn't take care of it anymore as she used to. Celine can pull off an almost completely live show (95%), just look at her Falling Into You tour and her Let's Talk About Love Tour. :bye1:

Well for me it's not just the lipping. I'm also looking at it promotional wise. And this is not the best thing to do. The album isn't doing that well I'm mean it's not a flop but it can do better and with a television special like this you have gold in your hands to let the album go up. but then what are they doing they pick songs from AND thats stupid unless it a promotion for the DVD but I don't think so. They probably liked the concept of an audienc with. Just 4 songs from TC :pinch:

They should have made this a special about TC like they first intended to if I recall it well before she did the audience with.

And yes she invited people to this special and I'm the first one to admit that if you are there live you experience it differently and you have a wonderful evening but if you are not there like us and you hear these stories (thank you Jose!) you not getting overly excited to watch except for some songs.

it is to promote TC, and the best way to do it, is to show them the different songs that are on the album...

and it contains ballads, rock, uptempo... and it fits an special!

ballads anno 2008, and not 1995...

TC, My Love, Shadow of love, This Time, world to believe in, right next, fade away, the woman in me, alone...

an special like that will blow the people away... and think: WOW celine can sing...

I am soo ..... tired of those oldies... i'm not suprised if those songs are in the tourlist and not even updated to the 2008 sound...

Thank you for all the updates. It was fun reading them.

First of all we have to say IF she lipped so many songs in front of David Foster I have to say there is not even a shadow of doubt that she had a good reason to do it. Preparing for tour, saving her voice may be just one thing. I won't search any further excuses for her as I would have preferred it to be all live but I don't mind at all since surely 50% of the songs she sang will be cut from the actual broadcast ANYWAY.

Secondly I have to say "Something" is an amazing song, especially performed by Shirley Bassey. Purely stunning. I'm very much looking forward to hear it.

No, it wasn't. about 75% was live prerecording. She prerecorded the live vocals in studio for IA, ANDHC, Spanish Existe Encore, Ten Days, Goodbye.
