New Celine CBS TV Special 2008 - That's Just The Woman In Me - 2-15-2008

I do like the RDMH performance with all the dancers and that sexy dress. And the hot moves. I do like more this performance than the Vegas DVD one.

 

And if it hadn't been for this TV Special, we wouldn't have the one and only performance of That's Just The Woman In Me guys.

 

In fact, thanks to these TV Specials we can enjoy today a bunch of songs that have only been performed there, just for that occasion (TJTWIM, WTWOLYR, Aun Existe Amor, Contre nature, Je lui dirai... despite the playback. And before the 2016 & 2017 tours, we only had there the songs Apprends-moi, Le vol d'un ange and Refuse To Dance). We owe so much to these TV specials, because if it hadn't been for them, we would have even less of her album songs performed ever on a stage. Sad but true

Céline didn't need any duet with anybody for Eyes On Me, what she needed is to release that damn videoclip she filmed with a bullfighter and they cancelled it just because of stupid threats and accusations (same as happened with IWYTNM).

 

Céline doesn't need Will.I.Am nor anybody for the song to suceed, her voice alone is more than enough to make any song shine; what she needed is a visual to accompany the release of the single -as usually is needed-, but she and her team have stupidly closed this chance countless times already, not releasing videoclips along with her singles :pinch:

 

This is one of the biggest and most stupid mistakes of her career, and hence her music goes completely unnoticed most of the times because in an era where everything is visual and visually shared on the Internet and mobile devices, Céline Dion simply hasn't any visuals to look at when a single or new music is released. It can't be more ridiculous

For Eyes On Me they filmed a video with a Spanish bullfighter in LA, but it wasn't finally released due to the threats and stupid accusations of French anti-bullfighting associations and such, threatening to boycott Céline's shows during the TCWT. Then Sony told they would remove the scenes with the bullfighter and replace them with other images, but in the end the video was never released of course, nor they filmed another one.

 

According to the news he spent a week filming the video with Céline, and he was very satisfied with the experience of working with her.

 

About IWYTNM, the first version of the video was also cancelled because apparently there were scenes of some kind of abuse/sexual abuse, either with Céline or another actress in the video... (my personal opinion is that it was far from that scandalous, but knowing how prudish René always was and how he excessively overprotected Celine, he didn't like the video so another one was done).

Probably the only thing they kept from the original concept of the videoclip is the cape-dancing number during the performance of the song in the TCWT, that was what the bullfighter supposedly filmed with her in the video.

 

I'm sure it would have looked elegant and hot, but...

Was there any scene of the guy doing bullfighting? If that's the case then I understand the outrage but if it was just the guy standing/dancing around Celine then there isn't any harm. Although, in a way, it does romanticize this barbaric "sport".

They should have just come up with a new video though :/ If budget was a concern then just have her dance on her own lol, they've had her do much more simpler things for other mv's.

I don't recall any news report or article specifically confirming whether they used bulls or not, and according to what it's been shared about the video, it only featured the bullfighter doing some dance moves along with Céline, in an artistic way, but it didn't necessarily involve bulls.

I can totally do without the lipped tjtwim performance. I do like the EOM remix though...but for thats just the woman in me IMO the tour playback and live rehearsal are much better.

I like to think it was somewhat similar to Madonna's Living for Love music video from 2015.
