What I was saying is that they didn't edit that segment of the show that well. They came back from commercial break where the audience was applauding and Celine asking if everyone was having a good time, then out of nowhere (for no reason it appears) she starts to do that faux beat boxing lol. Which in all honesty, looks very random and strange and even made me raise and eyebrow like "WTF?" Celine must have been talking about something that would have lead to the beat boxing and then they edited it out...and then it just looks like she started doing it for no reason and makes her look very strange....and then in addition to that the entire "Eyes On Me" performance was just awkward and uncomfortable to watch.

Could it be the CBS Special? But then wouldn't it say "performing songs from her new album "Taking Chances"? Looks like it will be in the Kodak Theatre..

Apparently a CD with audio from the CBS Special is being sold at a Brazilian music store. It's not a Sony product. Actually, it's manufactured for a big store chain in Brazil, similar to Target. This is how it looks:

I do. Since in that TV special we have the only performance of TJTWIM we have of the song (besides a couple or three bad video bootlegs during the tour)

 

Same as if they released the 1f&4t TV special, where we can find the only performances of songs like Apprends-moi, Le vol d'un ange, Contre nature or Je lui dirai.

 

Playback performances, yes, but they're worth gold, since they are the only times she performed the songs, at that time of the album release That's better than nothing.

Yup, Something and The Prayer were live. It would be nice to watch the performances of It's All Coming Back To Me Now, Because You Loved Me, To Love You More and My Heart Will Go On, though they were surely all lipped.

Yup, you can actually see a clip of To Love You More on this trailer. I'm assuming she also did It's All Coming Back To Me Now and Because You Loved Me (this last one probably lipped to the Vegas DVD track) because that was the medley she used to do at the time, she even did it on the 'An Audience with... Celine Dion' special in the UK.

 

 

And there's also a picture from the last few moments of the show, right after My Heart Will Go On. Only the people who attended the recording of the special in Los Angeles got to see the full thing and I'm afraid the rest of us will never get to see that... At least we did not miss any live performance since all of the ones that weren't included were surely lipped.

 

I've spent the last 15 mins trying to find that picture but couldn't succeed... Hopefully I'll get it over the next hours.

I remember Sony was seriously considering to release the Remix from the Special as a single but they never did since they couldn't come to therms with will.i.am's record company. Such a shame because having the studio version would have been a great bonus!

I remember being disgusted at the time that Sony didn't release the single. With the benefit of hindsight however I'm quite happy as, to be totally honest, it was a plainly obvious attempt at being "hip" or "cool" much like the duet with NeYo to be honest. Give me the Beegees or Streisand any day.

I feel like the Ne-yo duet was more her speed though. It didn't stray from who she is as a singer and, IMO the song is great! Celine wasn't the first to do a duet with a younger, more hip at the time artist, and she won't be the last.

Céline didn't need any duet with anybody for Eyes On Me, what she needed is to release that damn videoclip she filmed with a bullfighter and they cancelled it just because of stupid threats and accusations (same as happened with IWYTNM).

 

Céline doesn't need Will.I.Am nor anybody for the song to suceed, her voice alone is more than enough to make any song shine; what she needed is a visual to accompany the release of the single -as usually is needed-, but she and her team have stupidly closed this chance countless times already, not releasing videoclips along with her singles :pinch:

 

This is one of the biggest and most stupid mistakes of her career, and hence her music goes completely unnoticed most of the times because in an era where everything is visual and visually shared on the Internet and mobile devices, Céline Dion simply hasn't any visuals to look at when a single or new music is released. It can't be more ridiculous

Just look how Ashes did, because it had a videoclip and it was released the same exact day as the song... That makes a huge difference guys. Anyone failing to see this today in the height of XXI century and with all singers on instagram sharing stories and visual content 24/7, either is blind or likes to live in denial about how music is marketed and promoted today to reach the audience Just tell any record label executive or marketing employee to release a song without any videos or visuals today lol

 

Céline has proved to be swimming against the tide with this, but she's not going anywhere with it unfortunately. All her latest English singles from TC and LMBTL had been a fiasco to a great extent because she hadn't any video to promote them with, just look how LMBTL, Alone and Eyes On Me did... If she's happy just releasing the song and not doing anything else, good for her, but that's totally useless today.

That was her worst tv special. I remember how disappointed all the fans were who attended. Embarrassing playback fails more than once. You would have thought a bomb went off as angry people were about that special in the comments. Before it aired everyone knew this was a complete joke due to the large number of fans who attended the taping.

I agree. It’s definitely not one that I watched ever again after it’s original broadcast. Although, when I want a giggle; I do watch the EOM performance.

Yeah, it looks pretty bad. I have only watched two clips and in both it's obvious she's lip syncing. As hardcore fans we tend to catch when she's lipping but she normally masks it really well so even if you know she's lipping it's not something distracting, it doesn't pull you out of the performance. In just the 2 videos I've watched it was painfully obvious and extremely distracting. What went wrong? Did she not have time to rehearse or something?

 

I do like the remix of Eyes on Me though, shame it wasn't released officially. And the beatboxing clip was funny.
