The special aired today in South Africa.

 

Pick Of The Day - Celine Dion, M-Net, 8.30pm *****

 

The writers' strike in the US may well be over, but the repercussions are still being felt.

 

As far as Desperate Housewives is concerned, we in SA are running so close to the US transmission date that Thursday night's episode is being replaced by a special on Celine Dion - otherwise we might end up getting a little ahead of ourselves.

 

Episode 11 has been replaced with this Celine Dion special and, if you saw her show when she was in SA, you will know that this singer is a diva worth the title. She puts on one helluva concert.

 

Taped in Los Angeles, this was her first concert since completing her five-year musical extravaganza in Las Vegas and included is two duets with Josh Groban and new star on the block, Will.I.Am.

 

As for Dion, she's also a really nice (horrible word, but it fits) woman. Celine Foxcroft, the little girl pictured with Dion, has cystic fibrosis. The 11-year-old was at Dion's concert under the auspices of the Reach for A Dream Foundation.

 

Dion is the patron for the International Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (her 16-year-old niece died of the disease).

 

Desperate Housewives will resume next Thursday.

someone must record it for the forum... because

"eyes on me (feat will.i.am)" was shown for the first time in full version (more longer than the video on the forum and the videos on youtube) celine was so sexy

and "alone" was in full version too

This version on paris première contains a long version of eyes on me (feat will.i.am) unavailable before yesterday. I seen it yesterday and I know what i am talking about. For exemle the mp3 on the forum is 3:26 lenght the one on the tv show of paris premiere is more!

On CBS they edited the song and on paris première not

I don't know I always thought that the one showed on cbs was full until I see that on paris première. Alone was full too.

[iACBTMN, BYLM, TLYM, MHWGO, etc, were not included in the final show]. Since she sang it twice, they edited the final show to include video of both versions, which is easy, considering she lip-synced both times.

 

With Alone, when she performed it during our taping, she sang the shortened version that she had been using in the previous performances. The first verse what cut up and there was only one "big" alone sung at the end. That's the version that ended up on the special. For the music video, they used the full album version of the song, and the parts that were originally cut out were magically added. She must have re-done the track in it's entirety after we left or something, and it was added in. You can tell something was done, because the parts that were added, are only close-ups of her singing, and the camera doesn't show the audience during those added in parts. I do not remember her signing Alone more than once, though she did have to go back and re-do it's introduction. The first time she introduced the song, it was really quick, like she was racing through what she had rehearsed and then forgot a few lines. The producers made her re-introduce the song after she finished singing it.

I saw CBS special in Paris as well but on the 18th of May. We just got home from the show and it was on at 1 AM I believe on the same Premiere channel. That was a pleasant surprise even on a crappy hotel TV :):):)

actually i don't think you're right b/c if you watch the official music video. the violin solo part (that's in the full version), you can see the audience, and if that was added in after the audience left, then how could they be there?
