Well, I liked the special...the vajayjay shots were too hilarious :mdr: Could that dress be any shorter!

And EOM...the remix is ok....I didn`t love it but I didn`t hate it either. The dancing during it :doh: sheesh :lol:

I LOVED 'Something' I love that song by The Beatles anyway, but to see Celine do it so subdued was awsome. :wub:

A couple of comments in a thread about the A New Day... disc from another forum:

 

I was originally going to buy this based on the excellent PQ and AQ ratings. But I watched her TV special last night, and did not enjoy it.

 

I have to admit we watched the CBS special also. My wife and I really like her voice...but we can't seem to stand watching her. He attempts at dancing and theatrics are so corny, we just can't bear it. I assume the Las Vegas concert is more of the same.

yup, not surprised at all by those reactions. im obviously a huge fans of hers and even i had a hard time watching EOM yesterday.

 

yeah vic, it was a shame you couldnt watch it here. i DVR'ed it though so if you ever want to come over and see it in HD, let me know ;)

Well, you may think whatever you want, but some facts don't lie:

Just take the DVD of au coeur du stade, use DVD audio extractor to extract the discrete sound channels, or cut all the channels but the center speaker.

Now listen to the concert, and be thrilled by the amazing songs known to be lipped where the mic sudenly doesn't capture anything (clappings, music) but the voice of celine. Yep, all the sounds are suddenly muted to deliver the sheer voice direct from the studio. This strange phenomenon doesn't occur on the other songs that are REALLY sung.

Now draw your own conclusions, or burry your head in the sand.

how can a fan can be this stupid to always insist she sing live always. i don't get it. that super long post failed to convince me.

 

and oh i thought we already gave this lipping topic a rest. :glare:

This is a travesty to let ths opportunity slip away- look at this comment from youtube

 

"Wow, I can't believe it -- A possible RADIO HIT for scream-dion... I did like this and went to iTunes to download but you can't find this mix on there. She could have had some big sales today for downloads of this mix, but poor planning I'm sure. "

 

And there are more like it. What can we do?? It's such a shame :(

I really wish I'd seen the CBS special. Celine looks amazing in the pics. I wonder if it will be shown in France or the UK?

I'm reluctant to watch it on youtube as sometimes you don't get the full effect.

 

As for lipping, the debate was bound to rear its ugly head once again, despite the fact that we already knew most songs were lipped. People who were at the taping had warned us.

 

It is a fact that Celine lips. I don't understand how people can deny that it happens. I'm a die-hard fan but even I feel uncomfortable watching her when she lips as it looks and feels so wrong. But I don't hate Celine for it. Rather I'm extremely grateful for any media exposure Celine gets and I think as fans we have been incredibly spoilt in this area since the release of Taking Chances.

 

I rest assured knowing that it is also a cold hard fact that Celine is a phenomenal live performer with an incredible voice. Other artists and producers have all testified to her unique, exceptional talent and paid hommage to her. Of course her voice has changed in ten years and if she can't sing the ballads the way she used to then that is perfectly natural. It's unfortunate but every singer meets the same fate. The fact is she can still sing and it will be a long time before anybody matches her talent.

 

I am realistic and lucid enough to know that whilst Celine has an exceptional gift, media and fan-hype have turned her into some superhuman. Of course Celine can't sing those huge songs flawlessly every single time and it is normal for any artist whose reputation is on the line to take the easy option.

 

I, however, find it hard to decide who is the most tragically pathetic: the fan who is so infatuated and deluded that they refuse to accept that Celine sometimes sings playback (I suppose they still have hope but dream worlds can be harmful) Or the person who uses equipment to extract this audio from that audio, to compare this sound to that sound blah blah blah simply to expose and confirm somebody's shortcomings (what part of their soul died and seeks only to shatter the illusions of others?)

believe me apart from all that she herself looks silly and overreacting when shes singing in playback like tjtwim performance but when shes singing live she reacts well i mean my familly was watching with me and they saw rdmh vegas performance and that one and they said theres something wrong with it bec she even makes the same moves alot bec shes not feeling the song like when shes singing live

Love Hewitt, 28, met the Scotsman when he made a 2006 guest appearance on her TV show The Ghost Whisperer. The pair became engaged last November (2007) after the Band Of Brothers star proposed while on vacation in Hawaii.
