Seeing RDMH DVD quality is amazing! it's one of her best perfromances ever- she just looks amazing. I can't believe some people say she's ugly. Perfect body IMO. Thanks to ALL who captured the show and processed it for our Hungry Eyes

The camera angles and production of RDMH (and the rest of the songs) are sooooo much better than the Vegas DVD. CBS should've done the film editing instead.

i am sad because there are a little scratch in the beatles song video on the guitar part ??

Yeah on the video only. :( but at least the mp3 is perfect.

And I would like to complain about Mirage misleading me and telling me untrue promises about the RDMH performance - she had panties on!!!

:sofunny: :sofunny:

I am so so glad they cut the greatest hits "medley". The songs choosen were exellen (even though I wouldn't miss Alone if it was excluded.)

/fred

 Alone was...umm.. just too short :ermm:

Something, wonderful song, wonderful performance... almost a little countryish sound. I was expecting a dramatic version a la Shirley Bassey's version, but this more acoutic version was very very fine too.

/fred

I nearly cried... it was beautiful :flowers:

TJTWIM - I am just happy this song gets attention. :thumbsup2: This needs to be shown to the general public. For the first time sine what seems forever Céline records a real high quality song, and it's a welcome change.

The best ending this special could have had... loved it but would wanna hear it just once live and how she'd sound :D

Without the mic. she looks "naked" in RDMH during a couple of parts. She has to pretend to be holding one. :mdr:  :sofunny:

:nono: :nono:

Vic, misleading the "'lambs' :angry2:

LOL So true! When she turns her back to the audience, it looks like she's trying to hold onto something that isn't there.

I just had the chance to watch the special I taped on Friday and Celine looked and sounded FANTASTIC. When I used to watch her on closed circuit TV in Vegas from the box office, sometimes she would look 'washed out" and just plain tired even with the makeup, BUT she looked so great here. Yes, I know there was makeup and lighting but I honestly think that glow comes from finally ending the LV contract. FREE AT LAST!!

Her tour should be outstanding. LOVE LOVE LOVE RDMH, I shall never tire of hearing and seeing her perform that song(mike or no mike).

I forgot to mension how glad I am over that they excluded MHWGO, this is surelyoverplayed and overperformed, and the fact that I didn't even notise it was gone, didn't even miss it prooves that the need for it to be included everywhere is overrated.

/fred

Peace and love to all.

I know!!! :giggle: SHE NEEDED THE STICK!

What do you mean it was gone? I was told the special ended with MHWGO!!! I'm surprised!!!

I think she should have sung "This time"...it is not going to be realeased as a single, and it won't be included in the tour for sure, so this would have been the only chance to "help people" as she said about this song.

Gone from the TV Special only.

I, however, find it hard to decide who is the most tragically pathetic: the fan who is so infatuated and deluded that they refuse to accept that Celine sometimes sings playback (I suppose they still have hope but dream worlds can be harmful) Or the person who uses equipment to extract this audio from that audio, to compare this sound to that sound blah blah blah simply to expose and confirm somebody's shortcomings (what part of their soul died and seeks only to shatter the illusions of others?)

I'll go with the creepy soulless tech spammer(s).

I have still not watched this special yet but I was wondering if anyone can tell me what song Joe Walsh (Older guitar rocker guy) played on with her? I never thought I'd see him and Celine together! B)

"Something"; it's an old George Harrison/Beatles song. find the clips of the performance on youtube... it's worth it!

How I learned to stop worrying and sort of like Céline Dion

BILL BROWNSTEIN, The Gazette

Been down so long, Dion looks like up to me. Help!

Maybe it was the weather or the flu or the meds or the cabin fever. Or just maybe because there was nothing else on the tube and I was trapped in a room where the door had been nailed shut by a prankster in the family. Whatever. This cynic stayed tuned for the entire hour of Céline Dion's prime-time special, That's Just the Woman in Me, last Friday, and, honestly, it wasn't a hardship.

And maybe like the winter and the flu and the cabin fever, this, too, shall pass. But maybe not.

This admission will cost me dearly. My friend Farge is demanding that my freak flag now fly at half-mast. My friend and colleague, bloggist Basem Boshra, is threatening to withhold my invitation to his annual Larry King Bashing Bash - wherein guests chuck falafels and latkes at a life-sized poster of the bespectacled and suspendered CNN host while doing impressions of the Sopranos' Paulie Walnuts.

Okay, maybe Céline's banter with her adoring audience at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles during Friday's TV special was verging on gag-worthy, but she mercifully kept that to a minimum and concentrated on her crooning. No one can deny this woman has among the best pipes of anyone in the business.

There is a reason she is the most successful singer to have ever emerged from these parts and among the most successful on the planet. There is a reason she has won five Grammy Awards and has sold millions and millions of discs at a time when few do. There is a reason she played to sold-out houses for five years at her own room in Vegas, before ending her run there in December. There is a reason that her year-long world tour, which kicked off this week in South Africa, is pretty much sold out already.

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise, either, that all tickets were quickly gobbled up for Dion's eight shows at the Bell Centre in August and September. (It goes without saying that, short of a reunion of the Beatles both living and deceased, there are no other performing artists who could do same in this town.)

There has been some buzz of late that Dion wishes to end her tour next year in Montreal and would thus perform additional shows at the Bell Centre, but nothing has yet been confirmed.

The L.A. patrons taking in her TV special went predictably ga-ga as Céline sang such chart-busters like Because You Loved Me and My Heart Will Go On - that once-ubiquitous tune from the Titanic that made some of us go darned near-mental years ago and that may have exacerbated my allergy to the pop diva - as well as Taking Chances from her latest disc, The Prayer.

For excellent reason, she hit every note.

Though try as I may, I'm no huge fan of Josh Groban, but he is clearly gifted. And when Dion can keep up with this tenor in a duet, there is no doubting her range and power.

But what really blew this one-time Céline detractor away was her stunning, seemingly effortless hip-hop collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am on Eyes on Me.

This was followed by a simple, sobering rendering of Something, accompanied by the Eagles' Joe Walsh on guitar. Olivia Harrison, widow of that tune's composer, Beatle George Harrison, was in attendance and much moved.

Best of all, though, was Dion's solo belting of That's Just the Woman in Me. It wasn't just the pitch-perfect intonation.

But there weren't any of those bogus posturings. Her heart was totally in it. Dare I say, she was nearly Janis Joplin-esque in spirit. It was the knock-out punch.

The rap against Céline from this and other corners has always been her almost nauseating gushiness, which tends to upstage her sincerity. But as she is about to turn 40 next month, Céline has, hopefully, learned she doesn't need those theatrics, this artifice. The singing more than suffices.

And it just could be that it's not for nothing Céline is calling her current world tour Taking Chances. It's about bloody time.

The videos are awesome! Tnansk so much for taking the time to upload these for us. I really like The Peyer and Something, she sounded amazing o those. EOM has really grwon on me also.

Quick question...maybe a stupid one! The VoB files that the videos were in, is it right that you can play these on your DVD player? If so is it just the case of just burning them onto a DVD. Any help would be much appreciated!
