Wish Alix Malka have had the slightest idea of how to capture Celine as close as in this so "faked", "photoshophed" photos :innocent:

The fake air? As if the last two album photoshoots by Alix Malka were the example of genuine authenticity, naturalness and spontaneity, precisely. Talk about fake photos and photoshop :whistling:

Hahaha! I'm not saying I'm a big fan of photoshopping her face, right? I'm not saying anything about her face at all..

It doesn't even matter if her face is or isn't photoshopped, her face on LTAL is far from real either, but I love that cover.

It's about the design and artwork in general. And to me ANDHC is extremely tasteless

With or without a photoshop face, the ANDHC to me is a very tasteless

Funny thing is that Celine doesn't have any photoshop on herself in that session, unlike all the shameless editing that her face has had with her latest albums released since 2013, LMBTL and EUS. If only, with ANDHC they only played with the colour, emphasising them in the pictures. I don't find that bad at all, but maybe it's a matter of taste.

Thing is that in ANDHC she couldn't look more natural, because they didn't touch her face at all. Give me another outdoors photoshoot like this before the insipid, boring, fashionista and unnatural sessions taken inside a studio like are the photoshoots for Taking Chances, LMBTL or Encore Un Soir, with 0 inspiration around them :sick:

Well... I think we disagree on that as well haha

Because I really don't like those pictures

I love Alix Melka's work with Celine, especially the 2013 work

But I'm extremely disappointed on how they worked on her face.

If the photoshop would not have been that obvious, it would be perfect

I rather see Celine stylish as in Melka's work then laying lame barefoot on an fake beach with a weird head on

Why do you think it has the worst? No hard feelings, I promise, I am just genuinely curious. I've always loved the cover so I'm curious why others may not. I hope that makes any sense

Oh idk, there's just something about Celine trying to do those come hither looks that never rang true. The whole pose & look is just awkward.

I can see why one would think that, that really does make sense. I like it cause it's outdoors and with the ocean and the dress is gorgeous too, but there's a flip side to every story as my family likes to say!

Just because you're not moved or inspired by something, doesn't meant that others aren't or that there was "0 inspiration around them."

I happen to like the ANDHC photo shoot because it's colorful and free. I enjoyed that.

Taking Chances, is probably my favorite photo shoot of her career (minus the album cover). The hair inspired the wigs I wear for my shows. The mood of the shoot matched the tone of the album. Loved the pantsuit she wore, the dark smoky eye make up. I thought it was beautifully put together and well executed as a whole.

The Alix Malka shoots I thought were gorgeous. Although, I feel the LMBTL shoot (although I like the album cover) was more suited for "Sans Attendre" which was what those photos were intended for. I believe "Encore un soir" was perfect.

The beach it's not fake. It's a real beach by Céline's house at that time in Florida, and you can see the scenes of Céline walking around the beach in the making of the album documentary

Also, the beach concept is all around the design of the album, in the back cover, inside the CD and the back of the booklet. Many more photo takes were done in the beach, with Céline standing on rocks, on the sand etc. A full production team was there taking the pictures. How could you fake that? :wtf:

I absolutely agree with your opinion about TC photoshoot. I didn't want to include it in the same bag as the horrible Alix Malka pictures, but it can't be compared with the ANDHC photoshoot imo. But yes, we agree that the TC pictures have a link with the album and are tastefully taken. I also agree that the picture of the album cover happens to be the worst one of the photoshoot, especially when they stupidly retouched her chin :pinch:

But that said, please can you tell me what can be found of inspiring in the Alix Malka photos, both the 2013 and the 2015 ones? :mellow: Once he took one picture, he could just have pasted her face on all the rest of the photos because the only thing that changes is the clothes and the poses. Her face is completely expresionless :innocent:

There are some exceptions of course. I like this -yeah, the ones where she happens to have her eyes closed, for a change - And also the picture in the last album with the huge sleeves and her eyes closed too. If only we had them in full colour...

I love the ANDHC cover . . to me, it seems kind of relaxed, breezy, more genuine Celine. I agree with Scielle in that the "come hither" looks never did it for me -- they just never seemed really like Celine. So I never cared much for the covers of TCOML or LTAL . .but I never saw ANDHC in that category.

I also agree that TAST is the best English album cover -- it's also very genuine Celine, and it just gives such a perfectly holiday feeling!

Chalk me up as never liking the ANDHC cover as well. I agree that it looks like she wants to make out with the tree. My best friend and I used to joke that the caption to the cover is "Hey, Rene, watch as I make love to this tree for you" (said in Ana Gasteyer's "Celine Accent")

To each their own - I can see why people would enjoy it but it ranks up there as my least favorite album cover of all time. My personal favorites - FIY and LTAL

I've also never enjoyed the TAST cover. Why is she smelling the present? "Hey, Rene, this present smells so good, I might just eat it, eh?" :sofunny:

Actually they did. For the Asia Special Limited Editions (Malaysia and Thailand) they used the full colour artwork, and also for the Japanese 2008 Collector's Edition. These are particularly the perfect editions for me ^_^

There are special wrapping papers and bows with scent or parfum in them dear :giggle: Maybe she was just smelling them :sofunny:

Just a funny review from a customer that may sum up pretty much why many people -fans and non fans- adore this particular album and why it's an instant favourite. She even focuses on the album artwork :-D

Nah no rocket science here but it was just funny what she likes about the album and how she describes it :bye1:

I have to say this CD is quite good I actually like most of the songs on the album, this CD just shines. The entire CD is a class act, beautiful photography for the cover. Celine looks gorgeous as always, but I feel this album cover shot near the water is just top notch adding to the feel of this fantastic CD.

The title track "A New Day Has Come" is definitely one of my faves, and although I really don't normally like many Radio Re-Mixes, I think this one is really well done, and does not take away from the song as most do, In fact I think it adds to the song giving it a punchy feel that just works oh so well. I find myself listing to the track over and over. Don't get me wrong both the orig and the Re-Mix are equally good, I just prefer the Re-Mix.

"I'm alive" and "Right In Front Of You" are 2 other tracks I really like. Celine's voice on these tracks sounds amazing. It really does make one feel alive.

The sound on this CD is top notch with an open airy quality that is never harsh or fatiguing. The vocal recording is excellent, truly transparent showcasing the true power of her voice. This CD really has nice punch and definition, bass is never muddy. The mix is crystal clear, I wish all CD's sounded this good.

Overall a great addition to anyones CD collection.

Regarding photoshop, I think they should stop enhacing the mole next to her nose. It doesn't add anything. It's outdated too. Madonna stopped doing it in the 90s and Cyndi Crawford is nowhere to be seen now.

Yes, actually the Special Limited Edition that was released in Europe did feature the full artwork too, but since it was released with that silvery/metallic effect, it was hard to notice. The UK Special Limited Edition had a slightly different effect, since it was released with a white touch instead of the metallic effect (it was really hard to notice the album cover in this case :wacko: ).

As for why they decided to release this Special Edition in Europe with this silvery cover, and go with the full colour cover for the rest of the countries, I don't know the answer. But needless to say, the photo of this album cover deserves a full colour treatment.

The US Limited Edition didn't include the outer cardboard slipcase as released for the other countries, so they didn't have any change of artwork nor presentation in this respect. But the rest of the Special Limited Editions, released through other countries in Asia like Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia and Korea, all of them had the full colour cardboard slipcase, featuring the beautiful photo of Celine showing the full dress. In my opinion, these are the best and nicest copies of this edition.
