Celine Fan 77 Posted March 29, 2012 at 07:57 PM Posted March 29, 2012 at 07:57 PM Honestly, from my point of view, they don't give a damn about the fans (I mean the people from the official website). If they did, they would have released a CD+DVD (album+CBS special), something similar to what they did back in 2009 with D'eux. I guess they did that because of how successful the album was commercially (best selling francophone album of all time), they probably wanted to try to repeat the success or something... But then, why didn't they do that when Falling Into You or Let's Talk About Love turned 10 years old?? I'll never understand them.... They keep us with nothing for months and then, when we least expect it, they give us great re-editions of her albums. Shaun Posted March 29, 2012 at 09:16 PM Posted March 29, 2012 at 09:16 PM Yeah it's such a shame we've never had the "A New Day Has Come" CBS special on DVD. Javito Posted June 16, 2013 at 11:29 AM Posted June 16, 2013 at 11:29 AM I wish we had more shots and scenes with her big hair look when she's walking in the beach (just like when she's talking by the cell at the start of the video ). I wonder why we only got to see her at the end of the video, in a far shot and walking by the shore If only they had used less scenes of random couples and more Céline action in the beach 3 Quote "Hush, now... LuisMa Posted June 16, 2013 at 11:31 AM Posted June 16, 2013 at 11:31 AM I always thought that. That she looked so wonderful and they probably had so many shots of her in that part, and they used just a bit in the video. 1 Quote
Si J'etais Quelqu'un Posted June 16, 2013 at 03:20 PM Posted June 16, 2013 at 03:20 PM To me, this is the ultimate, quintessential Celine Dion album. If someone said "show me one album you think sums Celine up", I'd give them this one. It's everything a Celine Dion album should be: it's cinematic, larger-than-life, it has big ballads, big vocals, great uptempos, a bit of dance, a bit of rock, a pair of classic standards, even a foreign language moment is thrown in! The themes are love, loss, motherhood, new beginnings and second chances, everything Celine likes to talk about. But overall, the album is POSITIVE. It's joyful, optimistic, and naturally so; it's the way Celine approaches her life and it's the way she wants everyone to feel. I can't think of a single album that gives a better picture of Celine. 7 Quote http://oi39.tinypic.com/dzjgva.jpg

You summed up all the reasons why I LOVE this album and why it is my very favourite Before this album arrived, Céline's discography was already loaded with great songs and excellent albums, but if we didn't have this album today, I would feel that her career is somehow incomplete. FIY or LTAL may have sold more copies than any of her albums, but A New Day Has Come has a great selection of songs, feelings, and a colour that no other album in her discography can match Like you say, it has everything. Even the spanish song plays a great part in the album, she took the time to sing in this language again and for that she chose L'amour existe encore to be translated in spanish. What else could a spanish fan ask for? L'amour existe encore, WOW. Maybe her best french song, even before PQTME. It has the perfect balance between ballads, covers, uptempo songs, and different styles (something that no other album in her discography can say!), but to me its the sense of positivity that surrounds the album what takes the gold medal with it Edited June 16, 2013 at 05:29 PM by Javito 6 Quote "Hush, now... FIY or LTAL may have sold more copies than any of her albums, but A New Day Has Come has a great selection of songs, feelings, and a colour that no other album in her discography can match That's another great point. I've always called A New Day Has Come the most RELAXED album in her Anglophone catalog. Everything leading up to it is great, but there's always the sense that Celine is rushing toward something, she's working, she has something to prove, and that tension made for awesome music and passionate performances, but with A New Day Has Come, it's like she just stops and floats for a bit. And that's a great sensation. The album just takes its time, doesn't feel like it has to win you over or anything - obviously they wanted it to be successful, it is the music BUSINESS, but it's the first time, imo, in her English recording career where she feels settled and, again, relaxed, like "this is the album I wanted to make, not the album I feel will sell 30 million copies." Javito Posted June 16, 2013 at 06:13 PM Posted June 16, 2013 at 06:13 PM (edited) And especially its the album where the sense of cohesion, the sense of a whole, like a jigsaw where all the pieces seem to fit in, has been the most accomplished. There's not a song that I think its out of place, or that it looks it was randomly picked and doesn't fit with the others (unlike in many other Celine albums). We could say its a concept album in a way, an album about life and love. It starts to tell us to be and feel alive, and closes with love, in the greatest message that I think its ever been put in the form of a song: in life, "the greatest thing you'll ever learn its just to love and be loved in return". Is there anything bigger than that in a Celine Dion album? Edited June 16, 2013 at 06:18 PM by Javito 4 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
CSCfan Posted June 16, 2013 at 08:37 PM Posted June 16, 2013 at 08:37 PM While I also love this album, I think it's one of her least cohesive albums.... so many different style of songs. To a certain degree I agree they all fit the album though, a little bit of everything (which makes it again not very cohesive) yeah. Neddo Posted June 16, 2013 at 08:46 PM Posted June 16, 2013 at 08:46 PM This album is album of light, colours and different feelings. But, it's just too much. All songs fit, but they're too overproduced. OH is way more relaxed even TC. Nature Boy comes too late to relax us. But ANDHC is and will always be better than all 90's english albums. Really? its funny because its precisely because of its production why I find this album stands out above the others. Each song is loaded with details, musical flourishes that other albums just don't have (i.e. Taking Chances, which had a decent production but strangely scarce in some songs). 1 Quote "Hush, now... Prima_Donna1 Posted September 25, 2013 at 12:16 PM Posted September 25, 2013 at 12:16 PM Wow that's cool there is demo of I'm Alive, thanks for sharing. Ok I love Taking Chances better....that album speaks to me..BUT ANDHC is one of my favorite albums. It's the album of rebirth, and a start of a new generation of Celine Dion songs yet to come. It's like a new beginning. This album was the start of her trying new things and singing in other genres. She did that in the 90's but not as much as she does it now. A New Day Has Come is a great compilation of mixed songs and styles. I love everything about it. The only things I don't like is that Superlove was not added to the U.S version. I did not like the Nature Boy and At Last covers. I think those songs bring down the album a bit. Other than its a great album that everyone should listen to. 3 Quote Apprends-Moi tes Secrets...http://i789.photobucket.com/albums/yy180/miss_daly2881/post-1110-0-56076900-1358706235_thumb.jpg

Yeah, well at least Nature Boy is the last song in the tracklist, I think its perfect to close the album. And I must confess this: I didn't like these 2 songs when I bought the album, and not even some time later. In fact ANDHC wasn't at all my favourite album initially, not until a few years ago. Because when the album was released, I was only 17, and maybe too young to understand the message of some songs, including Nature Boy. But with time, I learned to listen her more "slower" songs, I learned to appreciate them. And when few years ago I listened to this album closely, with more attention and more mature, I realized how BIG the message was behind the album concept. And when Nature Boy starts playing, after such amazing rollercoaster of songs that you've listened before through the whole record, lyrics that say "the greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return" can only give you chills from head to toes. It encloses all the message of the A New Day Has Come album! It's bigger than life that sentence, the honest-to-God truth. More than awesome this album, how it starts and how it ends And about "At Last", well I didn't like it much in 2002, I was mad when I knew it was a single in the US, but again, the lyrics is what captivated me. It's a song I would dance arm to arm with my lover all night long What else can I say about this album that doesn't make me sound sickly and dumb? It's an album you must listen when you're in love. Remember that. If you're in love with someone, play this album and you'll understand life through it 3 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
