Still I blame promo!! When the Oprah show aired the album jumped a lot! But now there's nothing, so sales drop! No single (physical or download)... only an interview in the Veronica TV Guide... but who knows when that will be published! Céline should have done a TV-show, or better Paul de Leeuw! Just the smallest appearence would have made a big difference! A week before the traditional post-Grammy and Valentine's Day sales spikes and discs by recognizable name acts like Jack Johnson, Lenny Kravitz and Sheryl Crow hit the street, next Tuesday's HITS Album chart will feature the lowest-selling #1 entry in modern history. Universal Motown's debuting prog-rockers Mars Volta will vie with J's Alicia Keys and Rhino's resilient Juno soundtrack for the top of the heap next week, with projected sales total of 50k give or take. Jive/ZLG rockers Bullet for My Valentine and the Grammy Nominees 2008 compilation on Hip-O/UMG both look in the 45-50k range, making the top of this weeks chart a five-record horse race. The overall market was up 5% over last week, down 14% vs same week last year and now down 10% year-to-date. It's only January and we're already down double-digits, which can't be good news.
