shasti Posted August 3, 2007 at 12:21 AM Posted August 3, 2007 at 12:21 AM yep.... have gotta back that one up... she wated to do the same with Confessions in 2005.... its yeah, gotta good couple of songs on it.... but its far from her ambition of being revolutionary (i strictly recall those words then) and i dont think it did as well as she hoped... and the amount she' spent on promotion... Celine dont get a slice of that... but her albums still sell quite decent...so..... yeah... hopefully we have the underdog this year... S Quote

thevoice Posted August 3, 2007 at 09:57 AM Posted August 3, 2007 at 09:57 AM (edited) And just because I think it bears mentioning, while Whitney Houston has been back in the studio recording three tracks for 6-9 months, depending on who you talk to, Celine Dion’s been back in the studio for three weeks—and her album is almost finished. Expect the first studio pop album from Celine in four years to hit stores this October, while Whitney (who, by all accounts, is still on the wagon) has yet to announce a release date for her comeback. And in no way sould we think Madonna's collaboration with Timba will be revolutionary. She is flip-flopping the whole damn time and ppl are buying it cuzz she's... Madonna! But there's absolutely nothing revolutionary neither in her image nor in her music since about 1995. She's gone completely mainstream and she should be seen as such. Just like Céline she wants to work with the hottest producers out there. Madonna doesn't equal revolutionary. If she is revolutionary then Céline's the best thing ever since sliced bread cuzz she can actually carry a tune properly. Live. Oh come on. It's just your opinion. In that ''non-revolutionary'' era she released ''Ray of light'', her most creative and unique album. Did you hear ''Frozen'', ''Shanti-ashtangi'', ''Sky fits heaven'' etc? Did you see her tours in the last few years? You may not like her, but you can't deny she always comes up with totally different sound on each new album and sets up a new trend, whether it's fashion or her music. She did it with Music, and she did it again with Confessions. Yes, of course, Hung up and Sorry are not revolutionary tracks but what is these days? At least she recycled things in a new way and resurrected real dance (disco) music again. She's as close as being revolutionary as she can be without being alternative. And for the record, she's done enough revolutional things in her career, she doesn't need to do that with every new album. Look at other artists and tell me, who is revolutional and yet still on top charts with every new album? Most of the artists have the same sound and songs on all of their albums. Quote

I don't have any problems with her doing Timbaland but the big irony here that she will be praised as the one ultimate Madonna that changed music with her new collaboration with Timbaland while she solely engaged him JUST cuzz he's hip and hot now and she is in desperate need to have a hit in the US (after so many consecutive flops there). She's very commercial and fake and won't admit it. That is what's disturbing and simply unfair compared to real singers that stand for what they sing for like Céline. Well, we'll see about this collaboration, we can't judge it untill we hear how it sounds, maybe it will be something totally new or maybe she'll simply drown in all that Timbaland flood. My previous post was about her career so far. Anyway, back to the topic... Quote

kdw123 Posted August 4, 2007 at 01:15 AM Posted August 4, 2007 at 01:15 AM Well if all goes as rumored, we should have a lot of official information on the new album in about a month and the album will be released in about 3 months. My guess is that the first single will be premiered at the press conference and probably released at that time or around that time. Quote
