Céline's Blues Posted February 11, 2007 at 11:29 AM Posted February 11, 2007 at 11:29 AM Still doesn't mean they will let her sing complete trash... I mean they aren't supposed to. haha With her and "Rain, Tax" you'd never know, tho! BUT the problem with her existing semi-RNB-songs is that they were NOT produced by professional RNB producers and you can't take them as example of how she would sound. This time she's working with some righteous pros in the music buisness. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

firebird Posted February 11, 2007 at 11:39 AM Posted February 11, 2007 at 11:39 AM If she really wants to do R'n'B, I think the Alicia-Keys-like "heavy on my heart" thing would suit her a lot. It's a very bluesy and vocal kind of R'n'B. Quote

Dionism Posted February 11, 2007 at 12:06 PM Posted February 11, 2007 at 12:06 PM (edited) I certainly hope not that many songs on the next English album will be R&B, because 1: Not-fans will not believe it, they would find it fake; Celine singing R&B for them will be like Queen Elizabeth of the UK throwing a party in the hottest nightclub in London. (Although we know Celine is versatile, other people won't buy it.) they will say: "look how she is trying to be someone she is not". That's the way it has gone before. 2: People listen to Celine Dion because she is Celine Dion, if they would want to hear real R&B they would play other artists. Celine should do what she is good at doing (that is why she sells so many cd's) 3: R&B would be a great excuse for Celine to go on singing in the back of her throat like she does more and more these days because they will of course all be easy-to-sing-songs (well, for her they will, like Dance With My Father) I like the album to be versatile and I wouldn't mind 1 or 2 R&B songs for the variety at all, (I liked Dance With My Father) but not more than that. I think a themed-album is not a good idea, the last English album already was one (Miracle), now we need a new versatile album, because our Celine is versatile. I'm all up for it. Let's not judge until she's sippping cristal on the bonnet of a Rolls Royce with beautiful, blinged up semi-naked studs canoodling all over her oiled torso. Quote

Céline's Blues Posted February 11, 2007 at 02:05 PM Posted February 11, 2007 at 02:05 PM (edited) With that amount of producers, Ronny, she would have the sound like Beyonce, Ciara, Timberlake and Snoop Dogg together! On one CD! I still think they're testing things out now. She isn't recording or something, just surely thinking about the English album. That's both good and bad. They still don't know where to go but they seemingly want hits. I do only hope they will get their hits without letting Céline sound ridiculous. Ne-Yo is actually writing for Céline and working on tracks for her (as he said in few interviews). Cox and his staff confirmed in more occasions that they will be part of Céline's new English effort. The ones I considered "confirmed" are the ones we already have news about. We don't have ANY words from Céline claiming she is considering an R&B album. NO WORDS ABOUT IT!!! Maybe we will have 5-6 R&B tracks on 15-16 tracks for the full album. It's different from Whitney: she actually claimed to have given the whole production of the whole album to R&B producers. thevoice Posted February 11, 2007 at 02:18 PM Posted February 11, 2007 at 02:18 PM (edited) u r contradicting yourself if celine is really working with those RNB producers u mentioned , do u expect them to write her powerful ballads? ofcours not - they'll produce RNB songs . and again , the fact that they r writing songs for her doesnt mean she'll deciede to record it so again - the only thing we know is that rene called some RNB producers , producers who created many no 1 hits in recent months , and asked them to write some stuff . whether they'll take those songs and put it in the album or not - we dont really know . and if u already mentioned "i knew i loved u" - i dont know how this song would fit in if it's an RNB album...so again - it's just too early to know... stevo Posted February 11, 2007 at 03:05 PM Posted February 11, 2007 at 03:05 PM I don't really think it's a problem that she's working with these producers- they're gonna give her something Celinesque but funked up and modern- what is so wrong with that? Celine isn't dumb- she's not gonna make a fool of herself . I Knew I Loved You has been more or less confirmed by the official site so it's gonna stick out a mile if it's the only song of that style on an album of hardcore R n B- it'll be soft, emotional, but with a new 21st century rythm. I disagree that R n B producers can't give her powerful ballads- of course they can...they just won't be in the style of IACBTMN and that's a good thing cos that was over 10 years ago. In one breath people say how they're scared of the oscar performance cos everyone will say 'oh God, that's all she ever sings...' and now that we have info on her producing an album that'll be up to date and fresh, people are jumping off a cliff. When OH was released to UK tv/radio, one music channel said "at last Celine Dion has had a much-needed session with the fashion police and is singing a beat"- and that was OH!-one of the worst songs she's released IMO. With top-quality, currently hit-making producers on her side, surely it's an exciting, not frightening time. Everyone is saying 'R n B album' as if it's infected with some horrible disease- I can't wait for more news on this and some confirmation that these producers are on board. Quote

Teodora Posted February 11, 2007 at 06:36 PM Posted February 11, 2007 at 06:36 PM I really don't mind if she'll be doing r'n'b, soul, rock, pop, jazz etc etc, as long as she's making a new album. I take everything she sings as a big present for us, and we can't have her doing the same things all the time, even if they are really good. I just have one thing to say: remember how you slammed Gategno, or whatever it's spelled, for the French album and what a masterpiece he created. I'm sure whatever style she adopts, it will be damn good music! Quote
