I agree, gogo but this time around Sony want her to have a HIT HIT HIT badly! Ne-Yo is THE hottest producer of nowadays. Watch out as they will encore announce Timbaland and Kanye West working with her and we will have the next "Emancipation of CiDi".

 

There are many roducers in the US who would really like to work with Céline! Quincy Jones would be amazing but then again he would need much time with Céline JUST like Phil Spector wanted 2 years for recording and Sony just would not let him. She was supposed to record a FULL album with Spector! What an album that would have been! Now history repeats itself when she does not have the needed focus to record something with meaning, highest effort, personal involvement and YES limited producer and songwriter circle. Sony wants it fast and want it to succeed.

 

Now tell me one thing, gogo. Who in the world would have thought that Céline would ever collaborate with Ne-Yo? She is amazing, absolutely versatile and amazing, can sing you everything. Pity it may backfire as abruptly.

what's good for beyonce and britney is not always good for celine - people r not gonna appreciate her new sound , they'll just say she sounds like britney

 

she'll sound amazing no matter what but in a year noone is going to remmember this album just like noone is going to remmember "to the left to the left" eventho it's a huge hit right now...and just like noone cares about "hit me baby" which was a huge hit back then...OMG

That's the reason I think the new English album will be listanable but forgettable like all the other English albums of hers. No, seriously, we don't know anything yet to judge but I am not expecting much.

I think it is a little early for them to release the concept of the new CD - plus we didn't even know about OH more than a few months in advance.  I think they care about this CD and will put together some great songs for it.  If they don't, then what is the point in touring?  If the CD is great, her tour will be great.    The two will feed off of each other.

kdw123 - celine has enough hits already for her world tour...the fact that there is a world tour is great but it doesnt mean that the english album is gonna be superb .

yeahh we heard about OH only few months before the release and even back then we didnt get many details , u know why? because there was no theme for the album , they just collected some songs with no connection to one another other than the fast money that they wanted to make...

same with ANDHC - her comeback album , no them no subject no nothing...

 

now if celine is working with ne - yo we already know that there r 2 options :

 

1 - the theme of the album will be - "let's try to find the right formula to have a no 1 hit again"

 

2 - he is just one of the producer and we'll get an album with no connection between the songs and no theme other than "let's have fun , we r alive!!"

 

i just hope celine would change her mind and deciede to do a concept album ...but judging from the past , usually when we hear about producers working with her - their songs make the way into the album...it's like they choose the team and no matter what they'll take what they give them...

No, I don't wanty another Xmas album in like 20 years. Also Xmas album is the most predictable kind album with tons of old tunes and few new songs. This new English album obviously would be a completely new one.

Maybe I'm way out in left field here, but it sounds like this new English Album will be the Crossover Pop and Adult Contemporary Vito Luprano wanted to do that ''applealed to a wide audience like Falling Into You" did

 

I mean, with rumors floating around Quincy Jones and Babyface...plus Ne-Yo

 

Moreover, parallels with timing a decade ago seem to be there

 

D'elles-new french record will be released b/f new english record--seems to be paying homage to "D'eux."

 

After "D'eux" was released........Falling into Followed shortly after...with some englsih translations. We could very well see this on the autum 2007 english record.

 

Quincy and Babyface are wonderful producers. Plus we know David Foster is already on board for this project. I only hope Quincy produces for the new reocrd, or at lease include what he already produced "I knew I loved you"

The Xmas album has been scrapped and I don't expect them to revive it any time soon.

 

And "I'm Your Angel" is one of most hideous songs EVER recorded in music history.

I think they will stick to the old formula : gather different songwriters and producers (old names and new names) together on one album and create a mix of slow and uptempo songs. It worked on FIY and on ANDHC for example, and this will be her first album of international importance since ANDHC (OH and Miracle were only fillers to cover up the time while she was in Las Vegas), so they'll surely play it safe with this one.
