celinedionfan Posted January 15, 2007 at 09:39 PM Posted January 15, 2007 at 09:39 PM IYA is a nice song! Now, THLAL, Rain Tax and Refuse to Dance are hideous!!<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually i believe that Refuse to Dance is one of her most sophisticated english songs! Anyway the truth is that indeed all her english albums have no specific sense and that's why they've become great hits giving Celine so much popularity! Because they are easy-going and they apply to people with usual favorities and straight feelings! "Cause i'am your lady and you are my man, i'm everything i am because you loved me etc...." all these lyrics are very superficial....though they got great music!! But think a bit about it.....if these songs where so much sophisticated Celine wouldn't be the one she is now because her albums would be underestimated from most of the people and they'd be considered as much-cultural, as philosophicated, as poetic.......generally as albums for people of literature!! Do you imagine her sales??? 5.000.000 worldwide!! People who receive and appreciate in a high level her deep and quality works (that they only ib French) are mostly French people or people who know french and they love quality art etc....! And don't get me wrong that there are many many fans around the world who buy her french albums and they don't understabd a word of what she's actually saying.....they're just moved by the music...... So don't fight about producers that will make for Celine a high standard and quality album....that happened only in "Miracle" and the results are more than obvious.... Her next album will be a predictable one......and maybe with some surprizes... Quote 22.06.2008 "The Greeks with the Pig"LIVED THE BEST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE CELINE DION LIVE IN MUNICH
Tal Posted January 15, 2007 at 10:21 PM Posted January 15, 2007 at 10:21 PM I agree with what you're saying there and thats why I think that she is beyond reaching that kind of success again. She has already shown that she has broad appeal and can conquer the world. I'd love it now if she can do in English what she does in French...to conceptualize her albums, make them more deep and artistic. And hopefully also compose some of her own music. kdw123 Posted January 16, 2007 at 02:04 AM Posted January 16, 2007 at 02:04 AM I am really excited and thankful to be getting a new English and French CD from Celine this year. I don't care if the CD has a concept or not. As long as I get some new songs and get to see her on TV a lot, I will be happy! I think this will be one of her best CDs released yet! Quote

Céline's Blues Posted January 16, 2007 at 06:58 PM Posted January 16, 2007 at 06:58 PM I'm listening now to Bianca Ryan's (this little singing sensation from tV) debut album produced by Foster and Afanasieff among others and I can imagine Céline's fans would die to simply hear such album from Céline again. It's so bombastic, over the top so typically David Foster. I think one album, yes only ONE album, in a career of a singer like this is ok. Céline has her TCOML and its countless copies like FIY and LTAL and ANDHC. Believe it or not OH and Miracle both stand out for NOT being copies of TCOML for once. I predict the next album will be also a stand out one (for the good or for the worst doesn't matter). It seems like she took a different approach with her English career this decade and even if I don't approve her working with Ne-Yo, I can't help but to be amazed at this women's versatility. I say I don't want another boring copy of TCOML but neither do I want a copy of OH. I want some freshness. Real, juicy, high quality freshness. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

She may not have the "sound" that you appreciate or like, but there's no need for name-calling. After all, most people's voices change as they age. Dear God I remember my puberty years. NOT FUN. Anyway, for the respect of others I'd appreciate it if you'd TRY to refrain from calling people names just because you don't agree with their work. smw Posted February 2, 2007 at 04:45 AM Posted February 2, 2007 at 04:45 AM I think (and I hope) that the upcoming English album will be a solid mix of songs...much like that of Falling Into You, but updated and even more original. I'm not saying history will repeat itself and the album will explode the way FIY did, but I think it's a nice basis to set the idea for the album upon. Anyway, I've noticed all kinds of topics dancing around the forum on the people who will be working with Celine. So on this topic, let's use that knowledge and really try to figure out what the album will be like. I'm thinking that there will probably will a couple of R&B songs--since we obviously have a lead on that information. What else do we KNOW for a fact? And what do we think will happen with the knowledge that we have? Quote
Céline's Blues Posted February 2, 2007 at 04:58 AM Posted February 2, 2007 at 04:58 AM What pple don't realise is that on her first Enflish albums Céline indeed did have RNB-influenced tracks and guess what - these were the best tracks on the album! Take the heavy beat driven "Halfway To Heaven" or "With This Tear", both absolutely remarkable. <3 And what I truly don't want is a MIXED bag like FIY or ANDHC. If there is one thing that went good with OH, Miracle and "Celine Dion" is that they had a certain concept - the latter had even a magnificent intro with in French! I just want consistency like when you pop the CD in whether it's metal, heavy dance or pure Britney pop that you feel it ALL belongs together (we belong togethaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa). Cuzz if it feels as schizophrenic as ANDHC it'd be so pointless - why not releasing a pop compilation of 17 Céline Dion's talents instead? Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

While I agree that a concept it a fantastic thing....if it's not done to its full potential, or if it even steers off track a tiny bit...it could be a big disappointment both critically and commercially.
