Yes, it’s fair to say that her team sucks ok. But that still doesn’t explain why Céline herself seems unable to build a truly meaningful studio album. Why approve these songs? Why approve these vocal takes? Why approve this production? Why not be being able to build a concept and explore new directions, take times with one composer.

On every fan forum, you see the same explanation: “There’s a bigger strategy behind it. These songs are just meant to keep us engaged until the real comeback—the concerts.”

But these songs still carry her name, her image, and her artistic identity. They become part of her legacy, whether they’re intended as placeholders or not.

That’s what I struggle to understand.

The gap between the depth and complexity of everything she’s been through—which should naturally become an extraordinary source of artistic inspiration—and the complete mediocrity of these two songs and everything around it is astonishing. And I don’t say that cynically.

When you consider her talent, even the actual voice I would say? the extraordinary resources at her disposal—financially, creatively, and through the incredible network of writers, producers, and musicians she could work with—it’s almost impossible to understand how these are the songs that emerged.

Especially after everything she herself has said over doc about her voice, her standards, and her artistic intentions.

To me, it’s a complete mystery.

Personally, I don't mind dansons and BPM. I just want that when a song is released, make it a good promo. If a shitty song becomes a hit, it encourages writers to write a song for her. At this stage, writers prefer to give good songs to current artists that they think have bigger chance to carry the hit. It's catch-22. We need a song to be a hit then Celine and the team has more choice to select which is best. At the moment, she has no options. It's all about marketing. Even if a song is a good as hell artistically, if mainstream does not know it, noone will stream, spotify will not add it to top playlist, and radio won't play it either.

For God Sake, we don't even have BPM wikipedia page :( !!!!

But what surprises me most is the complete lack of artistic ambition.

After everything she’s lived through, this could have been the defining studio album of her career. Imagine Céline spending a year or two with just one or two exceptional writers and producers, exploring entirely new musical territory. Writing about grief, illness, resilience, identity, fear, hope… discovering how her new voice wants to express itself instead of trying to recreate the old one.

Instead, it feels like the traditional approach: songs are pitched, selected, recorded quickly, and assembled into a product. The result feels disposable—generic songs, generic production, and very little artistic identity.

People often say, “But Céline is a live performer.”

I know she is.

But that doesn’t explain why her studio output has to remain so artistically conservative, and bad.  The fact that she’s a stage artist shouldn’t prevent her from making a genuinely beautiful, thoughtful, and deeply personal album. If anything, everything she’s experienced over the last few years should have inspired exactly that.

That's something I will never understand. There are plenty of moments where she talks about songs in her head, writing them down, and having all these ideas for shows, shoots etc. But somehow they don't come to fruition. I really don't get that.

When it's time for a new album they just ask for songs and take whatever they like.

What you said, I think if she would just sit down with let's say Stephan Moccio they would create really something special together.

Honestly, that would be a dream come true for me, or many fans. Back then maybe the team and Rene want the best of her so they stick to requesting songs from the best possible composers around the world, but now I think it is actually the most perfect timing for Celine to work on her own, I mean she has all the grounds to create her own music and come up with an album that shows her own artistic sense and style. How I wish to witness it once in my lifetime

I agree—she could definitely have a whole new chapter writing songs. It’s crazy to think that at this point in her career, she’s still unsure about releasing her own music.

On another note, I understand that some of you have frustrations.  I love BPM, but since I’m not a native French speaker, I can see how mispronunciations might be annoying. That said, even without understanding French, I love her tone, the high head notes, and the overall vibe of the song. It’s so uplifting.

Over the past week, I’ve heard from a good friend who loves the song, my partner has been humming it, and I even caught him listening to it on his own—it's been on repeat!

Sure, it might not be her best work, but considering where she is in her career, it’s pretty amazing. I see every new song she releases as a jewel and a gift.  Just two years ago, I was devastated thinking she might never sing again. I do wish the last two songs had been promoted more—they deserve more attention.  But who knows what the future holds? I’ll take whatever we get and I’ll always be grateful.

First chart for BPM : Belgium Wallonia #38. In comparison, Dansons hit #3, but quickly dropped the week after

I am not sure how but Celine will need to improve her streaming numbers if she wants to have chart success. On Spotify, she gets 2.6m daily streams which is low in general, let alone for an artist who is currently making a comeback. I know her numbers will go up when she visits Paris and I will not be surprised if the French album is another smash. However, what will happen when she releases an English album? She will then need people to stream her records. How? I thought her social media engagement pointed towards that direction - to cultivate an online fan base and improve engagement. However, this was abandoned. She went viral in January and February and ever since the March announcement, there are no reaction videos, no commentary of her discography, and no engagement in general. The approach seems inconsistent. Unless they felt that this plan's no longer necessary. Maybe the astronomical numbers that the tour pulled resulted in them changing the approach. The question still stands though. She has low streaming power, how can that be addressed? And what bothers me is that other singers who thrived in the album era are doing really well, one way or another. Madonna has songs which pull more than 1m daily streams, MJ is currently getting 35m daily streams on Spotify - Billy Jean alone gets over 4m daily streams. I know his biopic became a smash, but it still feels unreasonable to me to have MHWGO barely scratch 200k a day in comparison. They need to step up their game, because we have plenty of examples that demonstrate that streaming success can be a realistic scenario.

I think the answer in terms of the next English project, whether we like it or not, is a collaboration with a modern relevant artist.

The last time she was in the UK top 40 was with “Set My Heart On Fire” with Majestic and Jammin’ Kid and that was due to stronger than normal streaming numbers.

And, really, she had nothing to do with that release. Imagine she did a collab but then performed it everywhere, promoted it, visited radio stations and did TV interviews about it. Whether I care to admit it or not, Madonna’s exposure in the run up to and the release of “Confessions II” was very impressive and look at what the results were.

I can’t see any further English market singles chart success without taking this approach.

I would love to be wrong.

But she doesn’t. She doesn’t care. She wants to have fun onstage singing whatever she likes, including random cover songs from the past decades that she happens to love. Good for her. I guess we just need to see every tiny thing as a gift instead of imagining what could be if things were done just a little differently, much as that may be hard to accept for many of us.

As much as I like for her to break records similar to the 90's in this streaming era... we have to accept that her priorities are different from that. I have to say I like it as well that she doesn't care anymore for these kind of stuff. Maybe she never really did. Maybe she just wanted to fulfill her childhood dream to become that successful, that she can sing on stage all her life and now she enjoys that

I honestly don’t think the world really cares anymore the way they did in previous decades about the charts… the top 40… or who’s number 1.

The world has moved on… Céline’s now a legend and icon and the music she now releases is for her fans.

Simple as that… it’s always been about album sales but I don’t even think people care about those either anymore lol.

She needs to do proper promotion. Fans and people in general want her to TALK. The last months give a bad impression of her : The one who takes the money but does nothing else. Not a single interview.

And she needs good music too. Her English comeback needs a solid album, that she can promote the good way. Madonna did it the right way, without singing that much. There is plenty of ways now to promote an album. You can do a live session on social media, record great music videos etc….

How many days since it got out again? Is it already a week? How many streams we’ve got? Since we can only know Spotify and YouTube. Combine it all. How many?

After 10 days (it came out on July 3rd)

Youtube states: 829.980

Spotify states: 1.209.745

Total: 2.039.725

I don't know about automatic streams. I agree the song needs promotion. Surely there's a big French summer TV-show where Céline could appear? I would even take a pre-recorded performance from Vegas!

With Set My Heart On Fire it showed how easy it could be. In terms of streaming, the only way to get as much audience is to collaborate with a artist who already is in the top 20 of streaming.

She doesn't need to go all the way with Bad Bunny. Even a duet with Coldplay, or even Adele would do the trick. And she could easily stay in her genre.

And it also has a lot do with exposure. Maybe she really doesn't care. OR Sony doesn't bother to spent money on it.

For BPM, a few tv appearances would be great. Maybe this time the lack of Celine is part of the concerts comeback. Still think a proper video wouldn't hurt.

I hear what you are all saying, but can she choose not to care? I mean, she might be feeling that way, but is it an option when she has contacts?

Also, are we sure she does not care? In some instances, she has spoken about D'elles and how it underperformed and how she wanted to do more with this album.

I am really, really curious to see what the promo of the French album will involve and what their approach is going to be when she releases an English album.

This is funny to see how we are all convinced that she will release a French album and then an english one. 😂😂this is a dream but we don’t know anything about these plans.

in term of caring or not, Céline shows us she is an open book when she decides it. When she wants to be off the public eye, she know how to do it perfectly.

so if she decided to come back she has to do it properly,  just like everyone on this forum probable gives its best in its job.

ok Sony is painful but if Céline says «  I will give some interviews for this TV or newspaper » I cannot imagine Sony or a management refusing it.

Oh yes she definitely can, and I would be absolutely fine with that if that would be communicated in some way.

But like you said about D'elles, and I bring the example of the many songs for Courage and that she would have loved a back to back album. Her enthusiasm for songs that she imagines with remixes etc.

Between all of that talk and wishes the execution fails big time. With the things she said I don't think she really doesn't care, I do think she is being held down in her creative ideas.

It is very much expected, no promo whatsoever. Makes me think, what is the point of releasing it if they are not going to promo it.

2 montha awarly now from opening night of the concert. Please do something, Sony!!

Let s be honest

BPM is no way more qualified than Madonna s new album.

at least Madonna has chosen a competent team to manager her promotion.

I am not saying it s Celine s fault but, please, let s not fall into that trap where we call Madonnna for non-qualified music. I like her new album and I love Celine s new song.

im fine with both.

Madonna deserve all of this momentum. She paved the way for so many, being an idol even for Celine.

im sure Celine will have her moment too. even tho with her actual team, I hardly believe this.

maybe we need to reach out as a fan base and support Madonna. she s facing a lot of hate cause of her age. Celine too.

I retract everything i said about Madonna’s album. It’s lit af.

Probably her best work.

my apologies, i was in a Celine spell that day.

At this point I don’t think Celines team can be at all surprised / disappointed by how this song has done. If they did, they’d have promoted it by now. That’s the bottom line for me. If they cared, they would act.

I think we need to wait and see what happens after the shows start. As some have said, her attention is probably fully on prepping for Paris but once the first show has happened and she’s back in the swing of it, they might look at other things like tv show appearances, interviews etc

It may also be the case that she doesn’t want to live that side of her career anymore. She may be thinking just shows and releasing songs for her fans with minimal (or zero) promo. She’s earned that choice at this point in her life and career.

Who really cares about record positions? NOBODY listens to the charts anymore. Big artists are only interested in the headline album number (usually achieved by having multiple formats for sale the first week and then they drop off a cliff). Since the rules changed the charts are filled with greatest hits albums. Taylor Swift arguably the biggest artist in the world has who knows how many US number ones and nobody really cares. Not like the heydays of the 90s when success was measured in chart topping singles (I'm looking at you Mariah). She's a legacy act and the tour sales confirm that. I'm grateful for any new music and despair that we sit and compare numbers and daily totals. She is never gonna reach the top ten again and that's absolutely fine...with me anyway.

I think it’s deliberate she’s not being seen. People have paid big money to see her ( twice in my case🤣🥰). She’s a mega star. There doesn’t need to be anything before the concerts. This is her comeback time. The very first night. It’s right to wait. It’s a clever move. The singles are a little taster- thats all  🥰 September- the first show. Bang !!!

There’s no reason for her to sing live til then… however, resuming social media content that was popular, being seen out and about at shows and such and communicating with the fans would NOT take away anything from September12.
