I don’t know if I should hope that you’re right or that she doesn’t perform the songs. While I’ve always been for performing new material, if we’re going to get a limited setlist (and not knowing how many occasions to her hear sing any song we’re going to get) I wouldn’t want to miss on potentially awesome performances of her many amazing songs from the past. Let’s face it, at least the first two new singles are not among the best 20-25 songs of her career.

Can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with for this show!

Ewwww… aleewwwr… with that huge, overblown voice.

Then, Spotify automatically played Dansons. It’s not the song of the century, but damn, she actually takes her time. The timbre is purer, higher, and brighter. What a relief! You can hear a bit of the Sans attendre, SSDA tone coming back. It’s just a shame that the heavily processed sound suggests it still takes quite a bit of studio treatment to get even that result.

I get that you don't like the song but is is really necessary to point this out in every single post? Many on here actually do like the song quite much. For example the "Ewwwww... aleewwwr..." sound you are describing is something really classic Celine for me and it really puts on a smile on my face when I listen to her at the beginning of the song, it's like a warm hug saying "hello again" for me. Maybe we can move on and accept that first: taste is different and second: she will never please everybody. 

No one needs to listen to songs they don't like, neither Celine pushes you to do so

That’s what is interesting with music and arts in general. People don’t “receive” it the same way. Don’t let it get you and enjoy listening to the song

After having listened to both singles for a few weeks now, Dansons is my favorite. BPM is nice, but I wouldn´t even miss it if not part of the setlist in the new shows.

It has been Itunes France top 200 for the last 1 month, which is performing better than Dansons.

Off Topic, I know sorry - Interesting/bizarre that despite a lot of promotion and lots of massive gigs, Shania's new album (and correct me if I'm wrong because I've searched and searched as I couldn't quite believe it) debuted at No. 131 on the Billboard Album Chart?! 😮 And No. 20 on the Canadian Album Chart.

She’s a great writer and artist… but she hasn’t been the same since her Lyme disease. It’s truly sad, I hope Celine is still Celine when she hits that stage… Shania (and I like her)is the perfect example of staying past her prime. That Lyme disease destroyed her voice.

I’m so shocked by this. It’s a solid album. Her voice has definitely changed yes but these songs kinda suit her new range too. 

I don't understand how her last album (which was only 3yrs ago) went to #10 and this album is #131. Maybe the promo in the US was too light. She did spend ages in the UK supporting Harry and it went to #7 in the UK. 

As I say though, I really like Shanias new album! 

Just goes to show; if the promo isn’t there, it won’t sell. It concerns me for Celine’s future albums. I know we all love to beat the drum of ‘oh she doesn’t care about charts’ and ‘she can’t do well without radio’ etc etc but if Celine decides to promote a new album as much as she promoted the last 2 French singles, she could so easily be in the same boat. 

People will be so curious about her voice / current health when the Paris shows start but once they see that she can still do it, the intrigue may wear off and a new album might not stir much excitement.

Without the Courage World Tour ticket / album redemption bundle Celine could’ve well been in the same situation. Remember what happened to “Courage” in week 2 in the USA….

Shania´s new album is quite good, but I can´t connect so much with her voice now (or the way they overproduce her vocals). I know it is due to the Lyme disease, so unfortunate. But I saw her live in London Hyde Park and it was great. She sang live despite her limitations and the concert was good.

I´m excited to hear Celine live, I think (hope) she´s managed to preserve her voice better than Shania.

Her last album Queen of me debuted on the Canadian charts at #2 and the tour that followed sold out fast. I was lucky yo get tickets.

 It's unfortunate to see this album at #20 and wonder if this is what we should be expecting for the next Céline album. The weak debut of Shania shows that even a big promotion oush doesn't always deliver the numbers.

I know she was ill and had a problem with her voice. But her marriage/divorce story with Mutt Lange (who wrote and produced IWCT) is also dramatic. He cheated on her with her friend and then she married the friend's husband. Good for her. One day, I watched this interview on YT.

You’re right - a colossal flop here in North America.  I think she debuted in top 10 in UK? But still she’ll be out next week based on midweeks.  To be honest she sounded horrendous on her new single. People aren’t buying it. Literally.

Are we likely to have a huge number one album from Celine again?- very unlikely, but I still hope she can pull a bit of magic out of the bag one day soon, album-wise.

Agree - and I think if Celine could only get her voice to the god awful place of where Shania did she wouldn’t come back.  Too much of a perfectionist.

Well her previous album was more mainstream and easier to digest for people who like pop music and don’t have a particular taste for country music. I personally think it was overall a better album, so it makes sense to me.

This came to my mind yesterday.

Tell me what you think of this : 

I noticed that the vinyl single that will be released 4th of september is sold as a «   Maxi single ».

if we properly remember maxi singles in the past used to be kind of EP with about four titles.

So my guess is that Sony created this BPM / Dansons vinyl with that horrible cover because we are still expecting a third song to be released end of August.
 

As they don’t want to spoil the news everyone knows, we have this horrible stuff as presale and when the third song will be released I am pretty sure the horrible two titre vinyl will magically become a beautiful 4 titles vinyl including side A : BPM / Dansons, Side B the new song and l’Hymne a l’amour.

And we will have then a beautiful cover from the Robin  Galiegue 2026 photoshoot !!!

I know but releasing three titles before the shows and print only two on vinyl would be a non sensé
