What is even the point of this live? They're just playing songs. This team will never learn marketing🤦‍♂️

Well as Kev stated it might be for boosting her catalogue views in general because the videos are still counted separately and this way much more videos are seen by people because it can generate views in the background while the person doesn't watch every second actively. I guess that's the point and if it'll work its good :)

I do understand your explanation but I don't understand the point : do Youtube views make money ? why only official videos every fan already know by heart ? Personally I don't get the point watching this station, so I guess there is no point for non fan either

I think they should put concert and live performances instead of music videos.

There are no proper music videos for Dansons and BPM either. I thought her team didn't care about music videos anymore.

The song is good…definitely a grower!

I can see Céline performing this as the opening song in Paris!

When it became clear to me that it would be a lyric video rather than a music video, I was certain it wouldn't get many views. "Dansons"—even though Céline isn't in the video—features various people and locations; a lot happens, so you watch it to see what's going on. With lyrics available for all songs on streaming platforms, there's no reason for anyone to watch a lyric video on YouTube. The only thing taken into consideration when making a lyric video must be the fact that these videos play when someone watches YouTube on their TV—because there is no other reason.

This song won't be considered a masterpiece in 10 years and I feel Dansons will.  It's very telling that non French speaking fans like this song more - It has a beat and modern rhythms - but the lyrics aren't going to become a universal hymne d'amour. She could be reading the directions or how to use a blend and as long as there's a beat some people would adore it.

No you’re wrong, it’s her tone and voice that sound incredible after years of struggling that we appreciate.  You don’t like it… we get it.  However I’m my opinion it’s the best she has done in years. It is actually a masterpiece.  The numbers are low now because of promotion but they will improve… just wait and see.

just remember that the world is waiting for Celine, and right now it’s just in French.. she is an international artist.  Love Celine’s French music and this is a fantastic addition.

You don't have to be French to appreciate good music. Everyone can look up the lyrics and see the translations.

100% agree. I have read many comments online from French speaking fans that she sounds American. Also, the more one has dived into her French catalogue, the more they can understand how BPM deviates from it in that it seems to be following the direction of pop anthems like "Because You Loved Me". Last time I felt like that was 2012 when they decided to release "Le Miracle" as the second single from "Sans Attendre".

Does anyone else think this song could be perfect if the tempo was slowed down a bit in the verses?
From a non-French speaker, the lyrics in each verse feel a little too quick to take in whats being sung.
The chorus tempo is perfect though and the choir at the end is sublime.

That was my biggest throw off… the first two verses it was like Céline was racing for her supper 😂

My comment was solely in re: her vocals and is also a reflection of my own personal feelings upon hearing them. I don't think she would be recording new music and planning shows if she felt she didn't have something great to offer. She isn't like some artists (i.e. Mariah) who will serve her fans nothing on a silver platter year after year still expecting millions on return.

Of course, it is not an exercise in altruism. She does it because it brings her happiness and joy, and she also does it because of her own ambition. I doubt she needs the money; while we don't know anything about her finances, it seems quite clear that she could retire if she wanted to, and has planned for that eventuality. She doesn't need our money, but she's quite competitive and has never undersold herself or allowed others to take advantage of her.

The concert tickets are quite expensive, yes, but that's the fair market value for what she's offering. Artists really don't have the ability to set prices, especially with a complex and technically demanding production that requires heavy financial commitments from a variety of stakeholders. In this specific case, for example, I would imagine the insurance bill to be astronomical. And there is no guarantee that she will complete the full schedule of shows, because nothing like this has ever been done before.

As I listen to this song though, I feel as if I've been given something, and that's solely because of how valuable Celine's voice is to me personally. It moves to hear her place renewed value on it as well and to sing with such pleasure and freedom. That's something that is inspiring to me, and is why I consider it to be a gift. Perhaps a gift that is poorly wrapped and delivered, and one that results me in spending more money in the end, but a gift nonetheless.

With all due respect, I don’t think we can say that Mariah doesn’t give to her fans. I actually thought her most recent album was rather good. And she really puts together amazing packages for her anniversary albums. Like Celine, I believe Mariah actually cherishes her fans. She’s always worked hard on her music. She writes and spends countless hours in the studio. Even in recent recordings, you can hear the carefully placed layers of vocals, harmonies and backing vocals that she puts on her tracks. She re-records vocals for remixes. Whether or not you like her or her music, you cannot take away the fact that she works very hard, and takes a lot of stock in what she offers her fans.

Then what is the point? He said the lyrics are more meaningful and that non French speakers won't connect with it the same way as native speakers. And implying that non French speakers are only picking up on the beat and rhythm, not the message. And to that I argue you don't need to speak the language of a song in order to connect with it. Everyone has ears and can look up the lyrics and understand it. Good music is good music. Who cares is something sounds more "French" or "American" whatever that means.

You prove my point 100%.   A song is so much more than the *feel"*of it.    Sure you can argue that you get something out of it. Absolutely. But that's like choosing to love Monet's Water lilies because you like the color green.
