queenofvegas Posted July 3, 2026 at 08:28 PM Posted July 3, 2026 at 08:28 PM I'm obsessed with this song! It's been stuck in my head all day! I don't think there's anything I would change about it. To me it sounds like a classic Celine song. The lyric video doesn't look too bad but the actual cover art is hideous. I can't believe someone designed that. It looks so cheap and unprofessional. 2 Quote

I don’t think a song recorded two months ago is “last minute”, especially seeing as with the exception of the second vegas era, most of her material was recorded very quickly and then released soon afterward. Especially for a song that was likely already fully done re: the instrumental, all they’ll have had to do once Celine recorded the vocal is polish that up and mix it in to the track. I don’t think one can make a reflection on an albums completion or the material they’ve got based on songs recording dates. Songs for Encore Un Soir were still being recorded until 6 weeks before its release date. 4 Quote

MaxRayÎles Posted July 4, 2026 at 12:38 AM Posted July 4, 2026 at 12:38 AM La silhouette violette représente une personne qui paraît élégante, presque intouchable. 1 Quote
Schwa83 Posted July 4, 2026 at 02:37 AM Posted July 4, 2026 at 02:37 AM (edited) I've listened to the song a lot so far, and I absolutely love it. It's a total earworm; I love the insight behind the song. I love the cadence of the speak-singing verses and then the gorgeous chorus. There is a conversational tone to it but also a conviction is present. It's probably her most radio friendly song in over a decade and I hope it has some real impact. I also don't get the hate for the artwork or the lyrics video. The artwork is simple yes, but I find it lovely and the lyric video actually surpassed my expectations. I found the animation and visuals beautiful and paired with the song made for a really enjoyable visual experience. Home run for miss Celine. Edited July 4, 2026 at 02:40 AM by Schwa83 4 Quote

Yes, there is an infinite amount of extra things that could’ve been done with it. So, in that sense, you could say it doesn’t ‘go anywhere’, which is a complaint I had for many of Céline’s more recent songs. This one, however, I don’t feel is missing anything the way it is. There’s an energy and optimism in it that is very much the same vibe found on the EUS album. About the voice. I don’t think it sounds anything like 2004, but it certainly doesn’t sound like ‘Courage’ either. I think people forget just how bad/forced a lot of the vocals released in 2019-2021 were. I also forget, so then I go listen to songs like “How Did You Get Here”, “Superwoman” or “I Will Be Stronger” and the difference is stark! On BMP you can hear a beautiful, classic Céline tone underlying the whole vocal, even with all of Céline’s evidently deliberate loose, ‘potato’ enunciation. Next, I find the lyric video oddly satisfying. Not the design itself, but the concept of a lyric video for this song. I guess I just like seeing the lyrics with this one. Of course, an actual video with Céline in it is always welcome, and I’m sure it helps with charting success - I would’ve certainly liked one for “Dansons”. Finally, I have no idea how this song will do commercially. The French market certainly has some particular tastes and trends, so let’s see. This song is so clearly Ycare, just like “Dansons” is so clearly JJG. If that pattern holds, I can’t wait for the Santa song(s)… because I find her style to be so ‘Céline’ haha, particularly reminiscent of the albums “D’eux” and “Incognito”. I agree that this song is a good choice to focus on the lyrics. The poeticism of the lyrics is really one its strongest points and it is a song about words in a sense. I think the marketing strategy is a bit half-baked but I understand the thought behind it. These singles are intended to keep the buzz going ahead of her shows. They are keeping Celine out of the spotlight in service of that pre-show excitement. Even keeping her out of the videos for these singles. The shows will truly be the "big reveal" -- finally seeing her in the flesh. If she was out promoting these new singles it sort of dampens the anticipation, and if we have her in a video, perhaps we feel like she is fully "back," but she won't be until she steps onto the stage. This is a marketing strategy for what will be a historic concert residency. I'm sure we will catch further glimpses of her as the date gets closer, but they are keeping her out of the spotlight for a reason. 5 Quote

They want people talking about her and listening to the singles and getting excited, but they want her to be in the spotlight as a topic of conversation, not a tangible image we can hold onto and feel like she is here with us. Basically this is like a Queen Elizabeth marketing strategy, say as little as possible and stay out of the spotlight until the moment you walk out onto the balcony. I think it works for Celine and will pay off when the anticipation reaches a fever pitch in the weeks leading up to the shows. 1 Quote

He tells us the story behind the song. By Emmanuel Marolle July 3, 2026, 1:19 p.m. Ycare attended an event dedicated to Céline Dion on March 30 at the Trocadéro, with projections on the Eiffel Tower announcing the singer’s return to the stage. LP/Olivier Corsan He woke up to his song. And with a thank-you note, handwritten by Céline Dion and posted on social media. Ycare is the writer of “Bonjour, pardon, merci,” the Quebec singer’s new single, released this Friday. In it, we hear the artist once again both powerful and moving, in a song about resilience inspired by a Hawaiian prayer. His own, for this 42-year-old singer-musician revealed by Nouvelle Star, who went through years of excess of every kind before finding his way out. And Céline Dion’s, too, after she overcame stiff-person syndrome, which sometimes paralyzed her and prevented her from singing. It is an intense, rhythmic ballad in which we once again hear the vocal strength of the singer who will make her big return to the stage in Paris this autumn. Ycare agreed to tell us the behind-the-scenes story of this landmark song. How did you come to write for Céline Dion? YCARE. I think we all write for Céline. I love great voices. I practice doing it while telling myself: if one day it reached her ears, it would be a miracle. I come from so far away that it was completely inconceivable. When major artists are preparing an album, a lot of songs are sent in. And you submit some… Céline must have received hundreds of tracks. I sent this one with an explanation of the lyrics because it’s a bit unusual, with the Pacific, Polynesia, Ho’oponopono, a Hawaiian tradition. It’s something I heard, something that resonated very strongly with me at a time when I was coming out of my difficult period, and Céline was also going through a difficult period. I called my friend Renaud Rebillaud, the composer-producer, with whom we finished the music. And I was very, very pleasantly surprised and honored that it was so well received. It’s a succession of miracles. It belongs to the magic of life. When does the song date from? I started it two or three years ago, and I took my time. It’s a message of love, peace, and gratitude. So I spent time refining it as I myself was healing in my heart. In the end, it’s three minutes that are really three years, and a path of resilience that we are sharing today. In the lyrics, there is a mirror effect between you and Céline Dion, through the hardships you have both gone through and the way you both got back up again. What you’re saying gives me chills, because that’s exactly it… I’ve just come back from Vendée, where I walked three hundred kilometers with people who had lived through hardships, people who were ill, people who will not recover, people who hope to recover, and who show you what courage is. It was the craziest experience of my life. There were hundreds of us walking every day. And I knew the song was finished and that it would be released in a month. It’s going to give people strength. That’s what I wanted. Did you attend the recording in Las Vegas? Oh yes, I was there. I was over there. We were together in the studio. I was there to record the vocals and to accompany her during the recording session. It’s an immense honor to have experienced that and to have been able to explain the lyrics and their conception to her. But I couldn’t talk to her about notes. Who am I to talk to Céline Dion about notes? She said to me: “So, what?” I replied: “I came to talk to you about the silences. I came to talk to you about where I put the most weight, in which word. And where I would like us to emphasize, if you’re okay with that.” She is a woman of exceptional strength. I was very emotional throughout, and right away she welcomed me with great humanity. She called me by my birth name, Assan. That is how she signs the little note she posted on social media this Friday morning. It’s very touching. Did she do a lot of recording takes? She sang for pleasure. There weren’t endless takes; we weren’t struggling. It was beautiful, fluid. There was an energy flowing. We hear her vocal power again in this song… I think it was the right time for her to do it that way. She herself added a powerful “I love you” at the end of a chorus. My jaw dropped; I was speechless. She invented it on the spot. I said to her: “Yes. We’ve missed you so much, we want that. Give us all of that.” How do you feel now that the song has just been released? I’m starting to take it all in. I’ve been under strict confidentiality for a very long time, and I’m extremely respectful of all those procedures. She’s the biggest star in the world, so I was careful about everything. I tried not even to tell myself it was real until this Friday morning. For months, I’ve been passing by twelve-meter-by-eight-meter posters of Céline. And each time, I have the demo of the song in my ears, and I look at them with tears in my eyes. I've come so far… 11 5 Quote
