New French single : Bonjour, Pardon, Merci - July 3rd, 2026

The fact that they called this the "official" video, makes me fear we're not getting a proper video clip.  But then again, I wouldn't be surprised if we do get a video in like 2 months, after all the momentum of this single has passed.

I do wonder what's the reason for not having a real music video? Isn't Sony giving Céline budget to make one? Is Céline not bothered? Can't they come up with original ideas for a music video?

How can this be the comeback of one of the greatest singers of all time and yet it's so anti climaxing? Don't get me wrong. I do like the song, and I think she sounds great. And I am happy that Céline is still able to sing, record and perform! But this radio silences again and again are killing me. Just a 10 sec video: hey this is my new song, enjoy!! Would have meant the world! Her team really is clueless.

Here are some areas of improvement IMO:

• The verses sound much better at 0.90 speed on YouTube.
• The back vocals in the intro should have been softer, I find them somewhat splattered. Throughout the rest of the song the back vocals are exemplary, really well-done.
• I needed something extra to make the song more nuanced, more special. They kept it at a very generic level. Maybe they could have featured Hawaiian instruments since the song draws from a Hawaiian prayer? Maybe they could have featured a rapper to add a verse and therefore some edge? If you do not like this idea, maybe they could have just added a bridge? An instrumental? It just needed something to give some extra flavour.

I came up with the below in 2 seconds. This stuff isn’t difficult. 

And as for the lack of a music video featuring Celine, well it just stinks of a lack of effort. EVEN IF Celine isn’t interested in doing one there’s still enough archive footage out there for them to come up with some kind of concept for a video featuring her. It just stinks of “can’t be bothered” from the label.

As I said yesterday I love the song and it has instantly grabbed me more than “Dansons” did. I hope this one does well and I hope we get to see it live in the shows.

Really good song. I don´t think it will be a hit considering how charts are built now but having the maxi single available from today and not in September would have helped. Hearing how good she sounds is the most important for me. And I´m not worried for the lack of high notes, that´s usually the case with her French singles. I´m sure she can still belt and we´ll be blown away when the concerts start.

So, to be clear, the chances are before her concerts begin we’ll get another new single and at THAT point they plan to release a vinyl containing the previous two singles?

Unpopular opinion, but I’m really struggling with Bonjour, pardon, merci...

After the beautiful, natural acceptance we heard on Dansons, this track feels like a step backward into the post-2018 vocal compensations. The hyper-nasality, the lowered larynx to artificially enrich the tone, and the forced jodeling register breaks feel like a mechanical test. It sounds like Céline is trying to prove something to herself rather than focusing on authentic storytelling, and the high notes feel tacked on without any real emotional purpose.

The beginning feels beautiful, but after those few seconds it all falls short ..

I love her deeply, but I hoped she would finally embrace a more organic, realistic vocal philosophy instead of forcing these structural compensations.

I guess 3 songs that will be released this year as single will not feature Celine in a music video. We will see her face in concert which is only 2 months away. 
 

Am i right? 3 singles this year or only 2. Is this latest song the last one and will wait for the full album next year?

I don't like the lyrics-video either. It looks cheap and made WITHOUT any love. Like one of those projects where a boss says, “We need a video by tomorrow,” and a beginner quickly throws something together. IMO it even destroys the beauty of the song. Would be very interesting to know who had the idea for this, who made it and what it cost. They could have saved the money, simply post a picture with the lyrics - maybe even with a translation for the folks who don't speak French.

I love this so, so much! It's honestly stuck in my head and I've had it on repeat the whole time.🤩💚

My only tiny complains are that it's only 3 minutes long... I need more of this.

Also, on the last 'merci' after the chorus, the pitch drops down instead of staying level, like the note goes down on the 'ci' part. In the final chorus, where a choir joins in, it starts to sound really positive and uplifting, but that little dip on the last note makes the ending feel a bit sad.

A real video shoot is a huge undertaking and a lot of stress (even with a big team around her) - maybe she CAN'T do that at the moment. Or maybe she won't. She has nothing more to proof.
And, I thought of another possibility: The result of the recent photoshoot are not very good - on the fact that those were done by Robin Galiegue, a famous photographer. A lot of us checked out the pictures are very badly revised - so maybe they had something shot but realized that the quality's not good or Céline didn't like it?

About the song: I loved it. It’s both modern and classic. It has a positive message and a moving, upbeat rhythm—it’s great to listen to over and over.

About the video: Okay, lyric video. I liked it. I hope we at least get a next single with a music video featuring Céline.

Considering that the latest album, *Encore un soir*, didn't have a music video—even though "Encore un soir" is a Diamond-certified single and the official audio on YouTube has 105 million views—I suppose a music video is no longer considered important. But I would love to see one.

Woke up and listened to it 30 times immediately.. and I don't like it lol. Same way I don't like most of D'Elles... All good though I have Dansons. Anyway I figured out long ago I listen to her because of who she is far more than her music. And so above all I'm just in awe, and frankly disbelief, that she can still make music like this. Way to go girl.
