The least thing she and her team could do is put some effort and esthetic into the releases. In my opinion it's a lack of respect towards her fans to do everything so half-hearted. She is an artist. My comment was solely in re: her vocals and is also a reflection of my own personal feelings upon hearing them. I don't think she would be recording new music and planning shows if she felt she didn't have something great to offer. She isn't like some artists (i.e. Mariah) who will serve her fans nothing on a silver platter year after year still expecting millions on return. 

Of course, it is not an exercise in altruism. She does it because it brings her happiness and joy, and she also does it because of her own ambition. I doubt she needs the money; while we don't know anything about her finances, it seems quite clear that she could retire if she wanted to, and has planned for that eventuality. She doesn't need our money, but she's quite competitive and has never undersold herself or allowed others to take advantage of her. 

The concert tickets are quite expensive, yes, but that's the fair market value for what she's offering. Artists really don't have the ability to set prices, especially with a complex and technically demanding production that requires heavy financial commitments from a variety of stakeholders. In this specific case, for example, I would imagine the insurance bill to be astronomical. And there is no guarantee that she will complete the full schedule of shows, because nothing like this has ever been done before. 

As I listen to this song though, I feel as if I've been given something, and that's solely because of how valuable Celine's voice is to me personally. It moves to hear her place renewed value on it as well and to sing with such pleasure and freedom. That's something that is inspiring to me, and is why I consider it to be a gift. Perhaps a gift that is poorly wrapped and delivered, and one that results me in spending more money in the end, but a gift nonetheless.

I only stream the song like 5 times a day. Only reason is it being a Celine song. I am pretty disappointed by this release. I hope the numbers go up though.

I like the song, and I love that Celine’s voice sounds so strong. The more I listen to it, the better it gets, so it’s definitely a grower. I agree that the beginning feels a bit too fast, and I wish it were longer. The artwork also feels a bit low-budget. Overall, though, I’m very happy with this release.

I think this is being a bit dramatic. A well performing song requires effort, especially at this stage in her career. That means proper social media engagement (e.g, a video of her announcing the song), promotion, a music video, ect. This song has none of that

A song can perform well without the above if it resonates with the audience and has exposure at the beginning at least. E.g, Encore Un Soir (comeback single), Set My Heart On Fire (viral on tiktok)

 

Besides that, Celine has usually been an albums artist. But that doesn’t mean she can’t achieve a hit, or at least, a moderate/sleeper hit if there is investment and / or a very good song
