Have been listening to it nonstop for hrs, tbh I’m glad that Celine released a soft ballad instead of an uptempo radio-fit song as the latter is never the best choice to enjoy the flavour of Celine’s voice. I adore every bit of it, as said it resembles a lot the D’eux and SSD era vibe and tone, guess the only thing missing would be the sweetness in her voice, which I found quite weird as I can hear that in Love Again and I’ll Be (I was extremely THRILLED when I listened to them the first time!!!) yet not this time… For me this is undoubtedly one of the best traits In Celine’s voice that I treasure a lot🥹❤️

Maybe a third single… I think Celine will release the next single in summer written by Ycare… he’s more known for summery uptempo feel! I’m willing to bet it should’ve been the first single but JJG single was gonna get the lead no matter what from Celine. It’s a beautiful song I agree, but just like “My Love” is will probably shine more live and doesn’t have business being a single… LET ALONE THE COMEBACK single!

I don't necessarily think she needs a "comeback single," but that will probably be the next one. And yeah, this is probably her final song with JJG so it has to come first. I sort of view this as part of the residency rollout, like an invitation to the fans. It's also very vocal-forward, the instrumental is very subdued and mixed down and they really did a great job with the reverb / vocal production. This song is more like "proof of concept," it exists to demonstrate to the general public that her voice is in good shape and send a sentimental message to her fans that she's ready to "dance" with us. Seems fitting that the (lyric) video just shows people dancing in Paris. If this song hits number one it won't be because they were trying for it.

First listening ; i wasnt sure because i didnt expected that kind of song.

Second listening : i'm in love with that song. Reminds me of the mood from "D'eux" like j'attendais very softly and gentle like a poem. And the bit of les derniers seront les premiers at the end is lovely. Love her voice. She is Celine again! ❤️❤️❤️

Long time member here, but I haven't commented in years because I lost access to my account and couldn't be bothered to make a new one LOL but with all this excitement I can't help but join and I know they'll be more when the album comes out etc... my old username was Tomier if anyone remembers me ^^

 

Anyway, I finally got to listen to the song and found it to be absolutely beautiful. I did find the transition between certain parts of the song were a little odd but other than that it's one of the best new songs she's had in years. Her french material is always so much more artistic and beautiful than the English stuff we get.  Definitely felt like old Celine in many ways as well. Obviously her voice has changed as she's gotten older so there's more depth and deeper tone, but you can still hear classic Celine in there, more than even the last few releases of hers English and French. I also want to echo what others have said about it sounding like from the SSA and D'eux ara but I also hear a lot of 1F&4T probably even more because her voice had started to mature by then. All in all this was a fantastic choice for her first new song in years. 

 

As far as all the criticism I'm seeing about it not being good as a single or as a "comeback song"... It's really irritating to be honest. First of all some of you seem to never be happy unless you get exactly what YOU want. Secondly, several comments I've seen showing disappointment that it wasn't more upbeat or bigger, or maybe being too ballad-ey or boring really also annoys me. Maybe I'm just being protective of her but how can you seriously expect that over a ballad? Or consider her ballads boring? Even though she has some great uptempo songs and a lot more commercial sounding as well, a lot of her biggest and best music are often ballads, so these arguments or complaints just doesn't make any sense to me.. especially so right off the bat. Y'all don't even give yourself time to sit with it you just want to come out with the criticisms cuz you don't get exactly what you want and it just it's off-putting to me. As far as the comments talking about it sounding edited or auto-tunes or metallic etc... music is just like that these days, big artists rarely escape this. But I don't think it sounds as dramatic as some of you make it. Some of the deeper tones that make me think I hear what you hear, just reminds me of how she sounded in some songs like "ain't going to look the other way". But it still sounds good and it still sounds like her. It doesn't sound a fraction is bad as a lot of new music from new artist these days who can't sing worth a lick. Sorry for the rant just wanted to get it out of my system and maybe protect her a little bit LOL I think we all need to just take a breath, touch grass and remember there was a time when we thought we would never get new music from her again. Appreciate what we get. LOL sorry for the length of this comment, I'll shut up now haha happy listening everyone!

I don’t think people are complaining about it being a ballad… it’s a beautiful song, the argument some are making that is this kind of song suitable for a worldwide comeback? To each their own… I personally prefer ballads from Celine but I’m a fan of her belts… this song doesn’t call for belts just emotion..

when we get to hear the entire new album then we will be able to judge if this was the best song to lead her comeback, I’m gonna guess this isn’t the strongest choice but we’ll see and end of the day who cares? We have been fed after a 6 year fast. I feel like Cookie Monster and will eat up anything and ask questions later! 🍪 😋

It's true some of the comments do feel like that, but even in that case this is French music and French music has never really been "worldwide" even her music, we might get lucky with all the love that she's been getting over the last few years and be surprised but I don't think we should be expecting that, if that makes sense? I also agree I'll probably find better music for me personally on the album when it comes out, a lot of times I hate the single choices haha but I also know that sometimes my favorites are nobody else's favorites 😅 music in general it can surprise you you never know what's going to hit or miss regardless of how good the songs are. 

 

Also team celine/sony never treats her right anyway. Courage and imperfections to me we're both great choices for singles. But releasing all three of those songs together gave none of them a real chance. And in the end I don't think any of them were able to break through because of that. They just make weird choices in general. I do hope this works out regardless because she deserves it. 🥰

Midnight on the east coast and I just gave it my first of many listens and I’m in tears… this is so beautiful and I don’t think we needed a big ballad for her to come back with… this was perfect. We’ll probably get a dance track next, but my god… her pronunciation, her vocal tone, the production, the lyrics (JJG has done it again!)… welcome back Celine. It’s been too long! 😭
