Surely - like in every singers repertoire - she did have not so strong songlyrics (for ex. this "I hate you then I love you" where FIVE songwriters only create a - IMO - lame song for those great singers) - but there are a lot of her English ones which are also very beautiful, meaningful, poetic lyrics, like "Courage", "The Colour Of My Love", "My Love", "In Some Small Way", "With this tear", "Recovering", "Here, There & Everywhere", "Wicked Game", "Calling You" (OK, some of them were covers, but she chose them). They had strong lyrics beyond "main stream". Sorry, just to clarify - my opinion was not that Celine doesn't have beautiful, meaningful, poetic songs in English. She does. And I cited 4 of them. And I agree with all your choices too. And there are more like 'Live (For The One I Love)' and 'Miles To Go (Before I Sleep'). My point, however, was that 'Dansons' is better than all of them from a lyrical standpoint. I meant to compare poetic songs and say 'Dansons' is the best, in my opinion. And before anyone asks that doesn't know BFM, they are an excellent source. The article highlights the release of a new single from Céline Dion titled "Dansons" ("Let's Dance"), which marks a significant musical reunion with her longtime collaborator, Jean-Jacques Goldman. Here are the key takeaways regarding the song and her return: The Song: "Dansons" A Long-Awaited Reunion: This is the first collaboration between Céline Dion and Jean-Jacques Goldman in ten years, their last being "Encore un soir" in 2016. Goldman is the architect behind her record-breaking 1995 album D'eux. Composition History: Though released now, the song was actually written and composed by Goldman in 2021. Lyrical Themes: The song is described as an upbeat, optimistic track with lyrics that translate to "Let's dance, above the abysses / On the edges of the peaks / and leave the low points behind." Goldman noted that while it was inspired by the world stopping in 2020, the message of resilience remains relevant today. Visuals: The release is accompanied by a lyric video filmed on the streets of Paris by director Maxime Allouche. The Bigger Picture: A Musical Comeback New Album on the Horizon: "Dansons" is the first of three planned singles. A second track, written by the artist Ycare, is expected before summer, followed by a third song to be debuted during her first concert in September. These will lead up to a full French-language album anticipated for late 2026 or 2027. Paris Residency: The release coincides with the announcement of her major return to the stage. She is scheduled for a residency at the Paris La Défense Arena starting September 12, 2026. Due to massive demand, the residency has already been expanded to 16 dates. Vocal Health: Following her hiatus due to Stiff Person Syndrome, the article and early listener reviews (from regions where the song has already launched) suggest her voice remains powerful and emotive. MaiconSC Posted April 16, 2026 at 10:56 PM Posted April 16, 2026 at 10:56 PM I loved the new song!!! finally a song that sounds classic Celine.... the production is great, it looks like something from D'eux or S'il Suffisait D'aimer... and her voice is not dry like the post Loved Me Back To Life releases... I can spot a lot of references to her catalogue... the cover looks like the photoshoot from Taking Chances... the instrumental reminds and have a lot of elements of Vole, J'attendais, Je Sais Pas... a lot of Goldman classics... and of course the nod to Les Derniers Seront Les Premiers IS LOVELY... and talking about her voice, I'm really relieved... it sounds healthy, and a lot better than Love Again... now I can't wait for the next singles... what an amazing day for the fans 🥰 6 Quote

AdrienneM Posted April 16, 2026 at 11:15 PM Posted April 16, 2026 at 11:15 PM (edited) I’m willing to bet the single cover is likely an outtake from the photoshoot for the residency promotional pictures, but honestly in this day and age when the image attached to a digital/intangible single means essentially nothing at all, I don’t really find it to be that important. Really, as long as this level of musical quality is consistent across the following singles I couldnt care less. Edited April 16, 2026 at 11:16 PM by AdrienneM 1 Quote
