New French Single: Dansons - 17 April, 2026

Personally, I find it a little weak for a comeback, though it's still a beautiful song. It's definitely a shame she isn't in the video.

what are they doing? now the views will split between the video they posted with just the audio and now this lyric video... Stupid.

Video... as expected.... hopefully with the 2nd single it will be better... (or not...)

Since when is it problem to be splitting views? 🤨

Last time I checked views from both official audios and lyric videos count as official streams and are therefore converted into record sales.

It’s such a shame that she doesn’t appear in her own music video despite having so much time to film some very simple scenes. Why on earth…

'Cause I think that we have a case of an (uncredited) lyric video. I believe that near in future (weeks later) she release the proper music video, hoping that they don't use that damn black and white config...

To me, this song is just an introduction for the new era. A song written by JJG, back to the beginning, the basics. Just after the huge news and announcement of the Paris concerts. As you see, the video is small production, suits the song. But I don't think she will do any kind of promo for this song. So what I THINK, the single in June will be the summer single (prob more uptempo) with a real video and I do believe she will do promo (interviews) for that song and with the concerts coming. That's what I believe. This is just a beautiful slow introduction to this new era. Now this just comes after the whole buzz of the concerts.

I'd have to say it is actually growing on me and is a sweet little song. I just finished watching the music video and I thought it was so cute and I felt something from it. Yes of course I think with this being Celine's return I guess we all had an image in our mind of what we hoped that would be. To me it kind of feels like a 3rd single and I was expecting to see Celine in the video in some form so it maybe feels a bit strange and like it maybe missed the expectation that was surrounding it. But yes who knows what's yet to come and honestly I'm just glad she is feeling good, back to making music and performing. Can't wait to see her in Sept and celebrate the return with her.

I don’t think people are complaining about it being a ballad… it’s a beautiful song, the argument some are making that is this kind of song suitable for a worldwide comeback? To each their own… I personally prefer ballads from Celine but I’m a fan of her belts… this song doesn’t call for belts just emotion..

People did complain about this being a ballad. Certain members were expecting an up-tempo banger, suitable for summer. 🙄 They literally said so.

The more I listen to this single, the more it reminds me of the Sans Attendre album in terms of vocals!

Listen, again it’s probably not the kind of single I would’ve expected b it her vocals are beautiful something none of us knew for sure would be the case ever again.

Good thing it’s not summer yet. ☀️

And I  never knew the words “Celine Dion” and “banger” coexisted! 🤣

Why do I feel this song will have great visuals in her upcoming concert

Because the lyrics create images. And the song is both intimate and universal. One of the best written pieces she has ever recorded.

It was on repeat for me today and I must say I love it more and more.

Yes I still expected a bit more as a comeback single. But on the other hand. Why should she? She is legendary, she doesn't need to do interviews and promote the hell out of it. (Though I would love to see more and more of her) I don't think that's the way she goes now, must say a lot of artists don't do that anymore.

I'm Loving the melody of the song, it's not that predictable. Even gonna love the 'Ne nous re-ti-en-ne' part. It's timeless and that's what counts for me. What others have mentioned this just feels like a gentle hello and a small gift after the crazy 2 last weeks. When closer to the shows I think the singles will be more in your face, and even Céline.

A little appearance of her doing ballet at the end of the video would have been a masterpiece though.

Do you know what font was used for the new single cover?

It's either Didot or Bodoni. If you don't have them they are easy enough to source for free.

Has it finally been confirmed whether the song is a leftover from Encore un soir or a newly recorded track? According to Wikipedia, it’s a song recorded a few months ago, while according to X, it’s an older recording that was a leftover from Encore un soir… I respect that you like it, but I think it’s one of her worst songs—too bland. She wasted a great opportunity.

Wasted opportunity to give you what you wanted? 🙄

It is also sort of comical to be calling 'Dansons' bland when your account is named after a generic anthem.

I'm sorry, but she makes her own opportunites. She is an artist and does what she wants to do. You can either listen to it and enjoy or not.

There is no one golden opportunity for Celine Dion, especially in France. This is a creative statement. She can release whatever the F she wants because, as I said, she is an artist.

It's not surprise that the cover image of this single is Celine facing away from the viewer to her own shadow. She is excavating her shadow in this song, confronting her past. She's not signing for you, and she's not si ging for me. She's singing for herself -- she's singing for the sake of her own artistry. Do you get it now?

Amen.

The song has excellent replay value (assuming one likes it). This is great news for its commercial future. Let's see!

Whenever Céline released a new song, I would always share it with my mom. She loved her music, especially in French. I’m sure she would have loved “Dansons” just as much as I do.

My mom passed away yesterday… and sadly, I didn’t get the chance to play it for her.

This song now has a very special meaning to me.

Yes, that’s why my guess is that this song is supposed to be just a “fire starter”, not a real single. In fact, never called it a single, just “new song”. Therefore, there is no real music video.

Just like what Mariah Carey did with GTFO (the only difference being that she actually released a music video for it).

When our beloved elders leave, we draw strength in the wisdom and love they passed on to us to face the future. May your mother rest in peace. 💜

Beautiful song. Though it’s not single material, I hope it will find momentum in - at least- the French speaking world; singling out an important notion in today’s world of turmoil and fear.

I really loathe the autotune. This, in addition to the lacking of technically well supported chest notes, makes me worried about her vocal recovery. We still haven’t heard it (please don’t bring up the Olympic performance, we all know how that was produced/ compiled).

Finally, as for the video, I find the lack of representation of queer people very off and awkward. A significant part of the population, and likely even more among her fan base, does not identify as heterosexual. If you take into account what the song (and Céline herself) aspires to convey, this is a big disappointment.

At 2min30, I noticed the comedian Lola Dubini. She dances with Gwendal Marimoutou. The video is very sweet.
