It’s a natural part of aging… her voice would be less agile now due to age, she’s lipped the big money notes for many years now so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that her voice is not capable of what it once was and that’s Okay! (We’re here for the tree anyway) and If you actually look at the big names in music today it’s not like vocal ability is the gold standard 👀 she could most likely still out sing them all.

You can't tell from this image because the "Date modified" label is just the last time the files were opened. But in his instagram post, he said he received the first recordings of vocals in September. And elsewhere it has been reported that additional vocals or a different version (unclear which) were recorded for this track as recently as January

And to me it’s specifically calling on those who can to keep striving, keep going even though the world feels like it’s falling to hell, to keep trying on behalf of those who can’t so the world will turn right again. Even if all they can do is dansons in their living rooms, keep the hope alive. 
 

It’s been a while since her music has struck me on this level! If ever.

and what would that song be? what would it say? why would she release it? 

I will concede to your point about putting JJG's signature above everything else, he's a songwriter and not a lucky charm. My point was more that this was not a rare opportunity that won't come again. I think you fundamentally misunderstand the magnitude of her audience and the kind of response she engenders. 

She will get the response she deserves for what she puts out. She won't lose that demand by releasing something quiet, soft, or underwhelming. She creates the moment she exists in. 

She has an audience that isn't going anywhere. They either show up or they don't, but they aren't going away. It depends on the song. It depends on what she wants. I don't think she wanted a #1 with this song. She just wanted to release the song. Maybe because she felt more confident with the JJG connection, maybe because of the meaning. Who cares. She's released so many singles in her career and not all of them have been hits, but when she does release a bona fide hit, it's pretty obvious and the audience is there. 

I would add also that I don't think she was confident she could fill the seats for these shows. There are a lot of unknowns here. This song was planned to support the ticket sales for these shows, not to launch a new album. She *has not announced a new album* and has made no statement indicating that this is the lead single. This is a song she released to complement the promotion for her shows in Paris.

Top 20 is secured. The songs strongest point is sales but will face stiff competition in the streaming department against French rap songs dominating the SNEP charts now. Top 10 is possible if first day numbers remained stable or better, increase throughout the week.

650k Spotify debut is MASSIVE! So much higher than I was expecting. 244k in France alone is also really big! I actually expected the song's global streams to be around that. 

The second streaming day is a Saturday which means the numbers should naturally decline. But let's see how the song does throughout the week.
