Now that her return has been confirmed, I believe the first thing Celine will do is release a French album. It's been 8 years since EUS. This is the biggest gap between French studio albums in her entire career. Plus, the release of the upcoming compilation album will be the third English release in a row after Courage and Love Again. To get back to stage in Vegas with a predominately anglophone set-list after these would probably give a bad impression to her French audience. Remarkable to imagine her going back on stage. Just hope really being careful and not pushing to hard to get back on stage.

So true scary that she might not have stopped and then been on stage and just had her whole boy freeze up. I think it was a blessing as not sure if she would have stopped if not for Covid until something like her whole body freezing up while on stage.

This. I'm so glad she decided (or perhaps was partially forced to by Covid) to take time off and take care of herself. We've known her to be the kind that will always push through, it's a character trait that may have ended up disastrously. We all knew she was working herself ragged after Rene's death. It's so healthy for her to finally come to terms with that. So glad she decided "to be smart not brave" about it, as she said in that Vogue interview.

Yes, that's my sense as well. And I think especially so if the doc ends up being mostly in English (which I suspect might be the case, given the production team). Some in Quebec already made a stink about it. Have been silent the last few months taking in all the possibilities of what a Celine return could look like. I’m glad we can finally put all the rumors and speculation to rest and focus on having her back in our lives — even on a very limited basis. The fact that she has lived with this for so long breaks my heart but it was probably all the years of adrenaline in stage and her love for Rene that kept her going.

 

My guess is we will see her at the Olympics, especially since she chose to do her first interview with NBC, which covers the Olympics.

I have a feeling she isn’t thinking about the studio just yet. She’s already proved that at least on a “good day” that she can go into the studio and deliver with “Love Again”… I honestly think all of her energy is focusing on the returning to the stage first. I think we see her back to doing shows before an album, English or French for that matter. But I do agree that WHEN she does release an album it’ll be a French one first. She may make her return onstage doing a a francophone setlist first too in French speaking Canada or France.
