Nmj Posted June 11, 2024 at 02:54 PM Posted June 11, 2024 at 02:54 PM (edited) No I don’t think it is obvious. It’s one thing to be walking out publicly, and it’s another to sing like Celine Dion night after night on tour. Would we really have said oh Celine is not sick because she was at a golf game? I wouldn’t. The fact she did this thinking of the fans feelings and not just got on with her life is incredible. Astonishing Incredible. Just when I think I can’t love this woman more….. wow Kev x I wouldn’t have either. Most of us here on this forum wouldn’t have. I meant “every fan” as generalization but I see how that sounded now. But the media would’ve picked up story up and the “general” fan would’ve caused bad publicity. I think that’s the old way of avoid bad press strategy that Rene taught her, it’s probably ingrained in her. Edited June 11, 2024 at 02:56 PM by Nmj 2 Quote

Kong Posted June 11, 2024 at 03:38 PM Posted June 11, 2024 at 03:38 PM That line "Today my voice will be heard for the first time. Not just because I have to, or because I need to. It's because.. Dion also sat down with CBC News chief correspondent Adrienne Arsenault. As if her team were trying for this… It makes sense why she went for the more grainy voice in recent years too! Kev x The grainy voice makes a lot more sense now. She had more control over sounding like that vs trying to recapture that fluid tone we were all used to. She always said it was because the producers wanted her to sound more edgy.... but there was a lot more going on. God I can't believe what she's been carrying inside her for so long. I thought the documentary title was cheesy at first but i love this powerful simple reclamation of who she is. And as a fan it just feels… wild to have this alternate reality now of everything I experienced as a fan these past 16 years, all the ways I (we) explained things about her voice or life… Yes, it's fascinating to have this information now. We all could tell the difference in her voice at times. I always wondered why Celine's voice changed so much compared to Barbra Streisand or even Cher, for instance. I just assumed it was because Celine performed live so much. 1 Quote

Taking Chances Posted June 11, 2024 at 05:43 PM Posted June 11, 2024 at 05:43 PM After seeing the 5 minute clip of the Hoda interview, we have so many answers. It's heartbreaking that she's been dealing with this for so long, but it's interesting to have answers. I just hope she will be okay and manage SPS without too much pain. I hate seeing her in pain. On another note, in the clip with Hoda they showed her in the recording studio, and that looked fairy recent. Was that for Love Again, or something else? 1 Quote

jpatdeleon09 Posted June 11, 2024 at 06:06 PM Posted June 11, 2024 at 06:06 PM (edited) Honestly, The first time I noticed her voice really changed (like it's really different for me on how I used to hear her tone and the way she sings) was back in 2011. Yes! That time. She can hit the notes, very strong, but the way she sings is very different. The tone of her voice changed. I think that's the start where they started using a bit of auto tune in her voice (proshot) because before 2011. All were natural. 2011 Remember the "Open Arms" video? Some parts sounds robotic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qBeZ4OY2H0 2009 Her 2009 voice, I think her voice was still great. Her voice was still firm, strong, it's like it doesn't need some tweaking on her voice like putting autotune. I think her tone was still balanced what I mean about that is it's sounded natural, thick, loud but sounds pleasing to the ears compared to her 2011 where her tone was bit loud, thinner, more forward. In "Because You Loved Me" part, I can still her 2007 Las Vegas tone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHUONXfN-Tg 2015 Then, the next thing was in 2015. The way she sings in some parts are a bit tight. It's very different. More tense. (This is the time I always say before like the way she sings is a bit fast and she sing it like by syllable compared before where it sounded so relaxed like every word was carefully sang balanced not too tight and not too loose like in A New Day 2007 fancams. I noticed the changed in the Jazz medley of the show. When did you guys noticed where Celine's voice changed and sounded robotic/autotuned? Edited June 11, 2024 at 06:23 PM by jpatdeleon09 Quote
