I remember at the show in Ottawa on October 15th 2019 (her first show back after rescheduling MTL shows due to a “throat virus”, which we can now assume was SPS and her not knowing what was causing it), Céline sounded very rough during the first songs and stopped singing completely during “À vous”. She apologized and said that she doesn’t know what is happening to her since she felt in good shape to go on stage that night (also probably SPS). Anyway, she went off stage for the first outfit change of the show and then when she came back she quickly sounded MUCH better. Miraculously so almost. At the time some people suggested that she may have had steroid shots administered backstage for her vocal cords but could it be that she took a high dose of Valium and that was what caused the significant, inexplicable improvement? In any case, I think that show is a good example of a lot of what Céline has said about how SPS was affecting her when performing.

Just went to watch that concert on YT - after A Vous, Celine says she will drink some water and kinda goes into the shadows to drink. Maybe she even took Valium then. The next song was I’m Alive and she seemed to sound better on it already..

I liked the fact there was a manager who said NO when asked whether they could reveal the return date. I like knowing that Celine is not surrounded by YES people.
