Wow I just CAN NOT BELIEVE how much he has grown up! & even though yes Rene Charles has favored Celine's looks most of his life (the long & thin facial shape, & the strong Dion chin!) He does seem to have some of Renes looks in him as well as he gets older now.

 

& I can not believe that RC is now 23 years old! Just only yesterday it feels like he was just a little boy! Now he is a grown man, & the twins Eddy & Nelson are already 13 years old! Man it really make me feel old! Yep kids do grow up fast, I see that with my 2 girls, they are only a few years younger than the twins, & in only a few years they will in their teens! Yikes, I'm just kidding lol! But it was great to see Celine last night, & it was also great to see RC as well!

Yeah, that was odd for me. Looked like Céline was going in for a hug and was stopped short, her head even bobbed braking her approach lol I mean, it's one thing you don't want your glam look ruffled, but not even hugging a friend the world who basically turned into a recluse due to severe illness? So I say why not? Who knows if he’s got the skills for it but Scooter Braun started managing artists around that age. And I think the reason Céline went with Dave and Denis after Aldo is because she liked to surround herself with people she really knows and trusts. It wouldn’t hurt to have some young blood, someone who actually gets the current music scene. Like I had mentioned previously, Tony Bennett’s son did wonders for his dad’s career.

I know i shouldn’t keep paying any mind to this woman (and was happy to ignore her hitherto, and so know very little about her outside of this moment) but the delightful Carl Wilson introduced me to sociology through Celine so off my brain went in that direction;)

 

There’s good sociology on the role that acknowledgement plays in status hierarchies (… Roger Gould for anyone that cares.) Taylor did a pure status play here. She can’t kowtow or even acknowledge Celine because it would imply a status differential. The moment was set up to put the winner at the lower position; hell the whole evening was about respecting legends. Taylor’s probably been pissed as hell all evening about this expectation of her, especially after Miley’s prior and Celine’s reference to Sting/Diana. And Taylor acknowledging Celine would enforce that order when, well, she wants to come out on top. So she reactively swings in the opposite direction to make it about her. She avoids the risk of any upward comparison like hell and then makes sure she establishes only downward ones, by bringing Lana on stage to backhand thank her, establishing that Lana can only be up there in her shadow. Whether intentional, or deeply narcissistic, girl was strategic.

In reply to a lot of comments I’ve seen both here (and on other social media platforms) about Celines voice sounding deeper; well, it’s been nigh on 4 years since we’ve heard her speak on a regular basis. It’s been short videos, usually less than 2 minutes, every 6-8 months for the past 2+ years now, and, beyond that, I’m sure that at nearly 56 she’s well into menopause, if not, at the postmenopause stage- where women’s voices do deepen and become richer and slightly darker, let’s not forget that it’s been over a year since we’d even heard her speak before last night.

I have a question, speaking of RC, I don't know if he has ever expressed becoming a manager for Celine, or even if Celine herself has mentioned it. Because I remember Celine saying in quite a few interviews years ago where she & Rene did try to keep the boys mostly out of the "show business" world so that she could make sure that they had "normal childhoods" (which we all know Celine did not have a normal childhood because she started her career at 12 years old,) & that she would never force any of the boys to go into the entertainment business if they didn't want to. & Yes I remember RC recording the rap songs a few years back & did upload a few songs on the internet (while I DO NOT care for rap music much at all, not my cup of tea lol, RC did show some great talent in his music.)

 

Now that was about 4-5 years ago since RC was doing the rap music stuff. But since then, his social media pages has been VERY quiet (similar to his mom's social media pages lol, but even moreso as he had just STOPPED posting for a few years straight since around the time of the pandemic, & just like with Celine, we have barely seen RC, (& Eddy & Nelson) barely at all during the past 3+ years, except during the most recent appearances with their mom last fall & last night. So I wonder if he IS actually trying to be Celine's manager? Or is that JUST ANOTHER RUMOR/ASSUMPTION that fans are now making? I am just curious about this, that's all. The is the first time I have heard about any of this really.

Wow nope, I have no idea who that is! In fact, I did not watch the Grammy's last night except for the first 5-10 minutes of it lol. There were a whole bunch of younger singers & rappers on there, whom most of them I have never heard of lol, I am an "old fart" & proud of it! I will admit that I DO NOT care for most of the "current music" out there now. Now I do know a few singers such as Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Jonas Brothers, etc because of my 2 daughters lol (they both love to watch Disney Channel, & have been growing up watching Disney Channel shows & movies just like my sister & I did back in the 90s!) My girls ADORE Taylor, Miley, Selena G, Jonas Bros, etc so I am familiar with many of their songs (& I hear them ALOT in my household because of my kids lol, but I would rather my girls listen to those singers,even if I am not as huge of a fan of them myself lol, than to some of the violent rap & hard core metal songs out there with violent lyrics, sexual/violent music videos, etc (which is why I monitor my kids whenever they are online & they DO NOT have social media pages of their own or anything like that, they are too young yet to access social media! & I have parental controls on my YouTube account & Amazon Prime Video account because of my girls as I want to protect them.) Sorry I am NOT A FAN of most of today's music, especially of the rap & hard core metal stuff, which most of the music in those genres are not my cup of tea anyway. There are a few rap & metal songs I do like from my childhood from the 90s & early 2000s, but that's about as far as I can tolerate that kind of music sorry. I prefer older & classic music, such as soft rock, country, R&B/soul, 80s, 90s, & 2000s pop, classic rock/hard rock, dance, christian, altenative/folk rock, blues, jazz, oldies from the 50s, 60s & 70s, etc I dont care for most of todays music except for some pop/soft rock (such as Celine of course,) & some modern country.

 

But the MOST IRONIC thing is about the Grammy's, after I changed the channel because I just COULD NOT watch it much after a few minutes or so... Of course it would be MY LUCK that Celine would appear on there later on! If only I knew Celine was going to appear last night, I might have actually WATCHED IT lol! (as I have lost interest in those kind of award shows YEARS AGO, same with Oscars, Emmys, Tony's, etc) & it seemed like her appearance was a HUGE SURPRISE to everybody, including fans on social media, & even fans on this forum, as none of us know she was going to be on there last night! Hey if we all would have known about that, the Grammy's might have gotten MILLIONS of more viewers from us Celine fans right lol haha.

YES, THANK YOU!! I agree with you 100% about that!! Yes while I do agree that Taylor might have made herself look awkward not hugging Celine (it might have been the excitement of the moment, plus Taylor herself does seem like she is the kind of person who bounces from all over the place whenever she is excited on TV, during interviews, during concerts, etc at least from what I have seen of her over the years, yes I have 2 daughters who are Taylor Swift fans lol.) So who really knows if the whole thing was not intentional or it was intentional, we do not really know & might not ever know. & we all know Celine herself does not care about that whole silly drama anyway, & later on apparently Taylor & Celine did share a hug backstage, so Celine & Taylor obviously do not show hard feelings towards each other.

 

& Yes, I do also agree that the more everybody keeps talking about it, the more ATTENTION it just keeps bringing to Taylor! & Lord knows, Taylor Swift DOES CRAVE the attention on herself to a point, especially now as she is the current "flavor-of-the-month", like EVERY month pretty much lol.

 

Heck even in the NFL during this season, it has been like that with Taylor & her current "boyfriend-of-the-moment" Travis Helce from the Kansas City Chiefs football team! & I am from Maryland, home of the Baltimore Ravens football team. So last week, during the Ravens Vs. Chiefs game, it ended up being SOOOO MUCH about Taylor Swift because she was at the game because of her boyfriend Travis. Now I DO NOT watch much football, or much sports in general lol, but both my boyfriend & my father do. & they told me ALL ABOUT the game, & how the cameras kept zooming in on Taylor in the stands multiple times, & the game at one point was all about her! & For the previous 2 weeks, all I would see on my Facebook & Instagram feeds was posts about Taylor Swift being in Baltimore for the football game! & Ohhhh when the RAVENS LOST THAT GAME, boy did sh*t hit the fans with some of fans on how the game was affected by Taylors presence & that cost the Ravens to lose the game lol, even though I heard they did kinda played lousy lol! Now I do understand that Taylor was obviously at the game to support her boyfriend & all, it was just crazy that a darn football game ended up alllll about her instead of, you know, the game?! Which is what people go to the games to watch right lol... But I digress lol...

 

& Speaking of football, you all do already know that Taylor will be at the Superbowl next Sunday right, since her boyfriend's team is playing. Who wants to bet not only the cameras will be on her CONSTANTLY, but the producers will probably ask her to sing a song, or perform at the half time show with Usher lol. Would not be surprised, that girl does love attention lol!

Exactly! We have to keep in mind Celine is almost 56 years old! She has either probably already passed menopause or she might be in it now for all we know (yes for some women, menopause can be short like a few months or so, & for other women, it could be long such as a FEW YEARS! Yes that is possible, when my mother went through menopause, she was just a few years younger than Celine is, it lasted a few years for my mom I remember! (Now my mom is in her early 60s & has finished with the menopause thank goodness, she is glad for that!)

 

So menopause can be different for some women. & For all we know, Celine might either have had it already, or she might be just starting it or whatever. But we all know Celine is not a "spring chicken" anymore lol, she is older now & the voice does tend to deepen with age. Plus maybe her voice was also shaky because of nervousness as she has NOT been on a stage in such a long while, gotta keep that in mind too, she might have been nervous last night, why we can understand. Although I think last night she did look great, she looks better at a healthy weight instead of the "scary skinny" look from previous years (but some of that could have been part of the SPS health issues starting to take affect, as I have seen pictures of other women who also gave SPS, & most of them looked really skinny like Celine used to, so that might have been the cause of all that. But at least now, she looks better & hopefully whatever medication she is on or treatments she has been doing are helping her in some way so that her health will hopefully stay steady down the road.)

The disrespect that Taylor showed Celine at the Grammy's on stage when accepting the award was truly cringe, shameful, and VERY degrading, especially after everything Celine's been going through.

It's been great to see so many people care about the cruel treatment of Celine by Taylor on stage (regardless if Taylor took pictures after the show backstage for

"damage control"), and to see how much Celine is being defended and celebrated!

 

Aside from the whole Taylor ignoring Celine on stage scandel, the best part of the whole Grammy's this year was Celine showing up as a major surprise on music's biggest award show, to present the biggest award of the night, looking so pretty, heathy, stronger, and having her son by her side and expressing her happiness and gratitude!

 

Celine talked about being blessed to be there, and not taking it for granted, and we were blessed to see Celine back at the Grammy's showing the world that she

will stay strong in faith and hope, and not let her disease win and keep her down! God bless Celine! What an amazing person! I loved her interaction with the audience saying "Thank you all, I love you right back!" Such a class act!

Did anyone else Celine laughed twice while presenting? Before, she would never laugh as it’s not ideal for the vocal cords. Her speaking voice has all deepened and darkened tremendously. It’s quite noticeable when she announces that unfortunate girl’s name with horrible bangs who won the award.
