Guys,look at this

https://x.com/celine...dhGi9QsWaA&s=19

Poor Celine

I guess she had severe respiratory issues due to SPS.

Which makes sense as we need muscles to actually breathe.

Unfortunately, this would also indicate that it affects her singing ability a lot

I just hope it was before her diagnosis and the medicine she's currently taking will prevent such cases

A few celebs have reacted to the trailer. Jessie J shared it on her Instagram story with a really nice caption and Hannah Waddingham (UK actress) replied with hearts on Twitter. Any more?

Kevin Fallon’s writing about Céline has always been on point, and this is no exception:

A bit of an encouraging thought from the Vogue interview:

“Then she completed another Vegas residency. Then five more tours. Somewhere along the way, she also began experiencing bouts of muscle stiffness. “I started having a hard time walking. I was holding on to things.”

It wasn’t until 2020, when COVID forced her to slow down, that Dion finally reckoned with the mysterious health concerns that had been a recurring part of her life for over a decade.”

I take this to mean that Céline was able to travel the world, perform, do ballet and overall appear to be a perfectly healthy and fit person, all while experiencing significant SPS symptoms? Quite encouraging if she was able to do all that (and commit to things months in advance) while sometimes not even being able to walk without holding on to things.

The best is yet to come...

Well, it’s a progressive, degenerative disease. So it’s likely that it used to be much less severe.

Also she’s able to have treatments and meds that she has now only because of being diagnosed. The fact that Celine said they estimate she’s had symptoms for 17 years is crazy. And looking back we’ve seen multiple occasions from the past that were the beginning phases of the sps rearing its nasty head.

Yeah that part in the new Vogue interview really got me. We literally saw the beginning of it when she went to the doctor on the TTEOTW documentary, but little did we know….

I’m also now almost convinced that her back problems during second residency might have been a symptom too…

The thing is, she says she had severe symptoms (not allowing her to walk properly) even pre-2020, when she was performing non-stop. Meanwhile, while we don’t know what her current symptoms are like everyday, we do know that there are plenty of moments where Céline is able to walk and dance. What I mean to say is, she has moments now when she is in better shape than on certain occasions during the time when she pursued her performing career to the highest intensity. That’s encouraging.

I remember some people on this forum were so adamant that SPS just popped out of nowhere and that all of the stuff that happened in the past was unrelated. But I saw her in Vegas when she had to wear that back brace and of course it was this all along! Everything makes more sense now. I can't wait for this documentary. It's exactly what I was hoping for.

I think that’s mostly anti-vaxxers on Twitter, whose automatic response to anything re Celine & SPS is “💉” or “adrenochrome withdraws”. 🙄

Yes! She wrote: ''This. This is an artist. A legend. A timeless creative vocal genius. I adore you @celinedion''.

DeuxMoi has a “Hoda and Celine sighting” in Las Vegas: https://www.instagram.com/stories/deuxmoi/3373207834344191264?igsh=MXE3aXdqdm94ZHV6bQ==

Plus I’m seeing John Nelson in that clip and… is that Denise Truscello with the camera?

FWIW, DeuxMoi has another photo. Silly Celine than we know & love! https://www.instagram.com/stories/deuxmoi/3374412715311838124?igsh=MWxia2txenNpY3A3OQ==

The trailer was impressive, but perhaps even more so - the interview in Vogue.

I dreamed that Céline would finally meet the interviewer and witness she has long deserved. Especially now. Having seen most of Irene's documentaries, I hoped that this would be it, that something more than a commercial contract would happen between these two women who know life. That it would be a real meeting. And it worked out... I am now at peace with the documentary.

And Céline is smarter today than ever. Motivated as we know her, but incredibly mature, reflective, questioning, accepting her own weakness. I will keep my fingers firmly crossed that she continues to hold the helm of her boat with confidence, whatever else happens. And I'm glad in advance that many people will now begin to admire and respect her, if not for how she sings, then for who she is. Because this is “the most important song she will ever sing”...

Post liked by Ariana grande but she’s so far up Mariah’s butt she can’t be bothered to comment I guess.

Oh lots of large accounts reposted it. Most music and entertainment press ones for sure. And those known to be Céline fans (like Titanique, with a nice note: “Sentimental post alert! #TITANIQUE is a love letter to the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent of the one and only Céline Dion. We could not be more thrilled for "I Am: Céline Dion" and will be SAT on June 25! 💙”)

It’s nice to see non-entertainment press picking it up, too.

Another possible issue we could add to the list is wasn’t there a time towards the end of 2019 where she almost fell over on stage? I think it was during It’s All Coming Back to Me Now performance in December. Also, now I’m wondering if the issues she was having with her ear back in 2018 had something to do with it or if they were just a coincidence. What gets me, though is some parts of 2020 were amazing vocally, then, yet again in March, she began losing some of that consistency she had regained

I went to watch it, and it seems she just stepped uncarefully and tripped, but who knows. Also, she (almost) fell once in Paris during a fashion event IIRC

That new Vogue interview is the best interview in years - beyond the symptoms and tenacity, I hope we get that kind of articulate, analytical Céline in the documentary as well. I was also very happy and reassured to read this bit as it suggests we'll get a solid balance of content:

While the documentary is woven through with archival footage of Dion’s rise to fame—and her many decades at the top of her game as a musician and performer—Taylor was eager to make it a portrait of Dion in the here and now. “I think that her dearest fans have a very good sense of how wide-ranging her repertoire is,” Taylor says. “But I think most people don’t know—the general public, me included. The film is about discovering present-day Celine in the context of this 40-year-plus career that brought her to this point.”

Yeah the double-edged-sword of all the press picking up the trailer today (and basically recapping it or rehashing press releases) is that this truly excellent Vogue article kind of got lost in the crowd. I hope Vogue keeps reposting it and other outlets pick up some of the content in it as well.

And here we were wondering if it was a bad sign of vogue not mentioning the documentary at all last month with their interview with Celine… and yet that they had it and was waiting to be strategic about releasing this part the day the trailer dropped.

It looks much better when it’s worn free & loose — not combed/pulled back tightly (which exaggerates her features and makes her look somewhat emaciated).

Then you’ll like how she looks with hoda kotb!
