"Love Again" movie - Official Topic

Honestly, from what we know about it, this should probably be a film that just premieres on a streaming platform, not a wide theatrical release. It’s just not the sort of thing that draws people into cinemas these days. Plus the director has historically made cute little relationship-based indie films, the kind that are made for film festivals and streaming; that’s where his audience is. It’s his first wide release I think, so doubt a major studio would entrust him with a big production & marketing budget. My hope is Sony let him do his indie thing and didn’t interfere to much and make this a cheesy Hallmark / Lifetime movie.

I was at the cinema yesterday. I watched 'Evil Dead Rise'. Bad film, 0 plot, 0 character development, just blood and gore. I could write a script like that in one sitting. Point is I see that it has already grossed 40m over a 19m budget, and I am thinking that ''Love Again'' would actually deserve some sort of success too. I mean, it cannot be that bad! Priyanka is all over NY subway and Times Square billboards at the moment in connection with her upcoming show with Amazon Prime (Citadel). That comes out April 28th and she's on Live with Kelly & Mark on the 27th, presumably to talk about that more so than Love Again, and hopefully will flip more to LA promo the week after.

 

Anyway, I don't want to hang my hat on it or anything, but in a recent interview with her on Spotify she talks a bit about LA and how she's looking forward to seeing Celine because "she's had health issues and we haven't seen her for a while so I'm just looking forward to seeing her". Unclear if she means on screen or in person, and lord knows, people have misspoken and have been misinterpreted before. But perhaps there is some hope for Celine showing up for some promo.

She's done a lot in India, but as in Hollywood she hasn't got a major big role in a movie. So yes, Love Again would be talked about a bit here.

Seems kinda last minute only 2 days before the premiere here in the US. I wonder if things were planned before the 5/12/23 date and now they are just going with it.
