The entire point is that there needs to be a certain standard in communication that all members adhere to. And nobody should have to tolerate offensive remarks when signing in here.

We are adults. We should be able to express our opinions without resorting to name calling or implying the other forum members weren’t “raised right” and have no moral compass or compassion.

 

All I was saying is that if we don’t see from here in the next 2 weeks, it’s just another case of mismanagement with her PR team. Her medical issues are her private matter, obviously, but when the situation intersects with her career -in regards to the CWT- I think it looks bad to keep waiting until the last moment to say something. I’ve had my fair share of scary medical conditions that took months/years to overcome, so I understand Céline (personally) has to deal with a lot of psychological side affects as well. My point was that if how the public perceived her career isn’t important at this time, then it would be better to make an announcement sooner than later. If she’s not well enough 6 months out from the shows, it would be cruel to expect her to speed up her recovery to make that deadline.

 

And as we all hope she IS recovering, taping videos is not the same as flying to NYC to hit the talk show circuit. I don’t think any of us expects that at this point.

She's at an in-patient facility. We do not know what type of treatment she is having. But if she's staying at a medical facility, it must be invasive. If it's a stem cell treatment or experimental in nature, it could be risky to do anything more than just focus on that. The stem cell treatment requires flushing out your entire immune system. Which leaves you more open to infection than usual. She made the announcement that she is ill. More information has come out about her illness. If people choose not to read in order to understand where she may be at this present moment, that's on them. If Sony can have understanding about her condition, then so should the rest of us. "It's not that hard" is not something that should be said right now, because we truly have absolutely no idea at the end of the day. We are not doctors, and we are not Celine.

I demand nothing from Celine at this point. Last thing I want now is for Celine to be at home feeling any kinda of pressure (external ou internal) to do interviews, videos or whatever, related to this movie or anything else, just because she signed herself to do it before she found out about having SPS.

We don’t know how these treatments work though. Or how fast they could take effect in healing people. So, it may be best to wait until the last possible second to make any announcements. She could be in remission right now for all we know, but to make a premature announcement without a full understanding of how her body is going to function would be way worse, in my opinion.

I think we fans and public are making this "rare disease" too serious too soon. We don't have enough information to speculate her condition. It might be good, it might be bad, there's no place where Celine or Team Celine has given out any details on that. So let us not become doctors.

 

And as far as things for us fans are concerned, it would be quite disappointing if Celine doesn't show for promotion, be it in person, satellite interview or a few recorded messages. After all, it seems that Celine Dion making her debut is one of the biggest things that is making people go see the movie. If Celine is one of the primal promotional strategy, then TC or Sony should take advantage of it. And yes, I'm still waiting for the next two weeks, of course they are chances we will see her.

I’m far from expecting anything. All I’m saying is we don’t know how far along in treatment and/or recovery/remission she is in. I highly doubt she will be back by fall if at all. My point was that we just simply don’t know where everything stands at the moment, so waiting until the last possible moment to announce anything doesn’t seem all that far fetched given the situation.

I didn't mean that. I am just saying fans are being a bit too personal, we don't know if she is better, we don't know if she's bad(god forbids), so its better to leave the speculation of her disease to her.

I just want her to get better. Nothing else.

The only reason I can think of for them moving the movie’s release date from V Day to now is because of Celine and her health and her assumed inability to participate in some kind of promotion. They obviously had the wheels in motion for that release date. So if we don’t hear from her or see her in some form soon to promo the film, it is understandable that we would assume things aren’t going as expected with her recovery. And if they don’t give any update on her health after that, it just makes the whole movie’s release so strange.

 

And to ward off any attacks, I’m not demanding an update - just stating how weird it’ll be if there is none.

Seriously, the Christmas video gave me hope. She looked radiant, even though we know how serious SPS is.

Yet we don’t know whether she’s still under treatment or in remission.

Depends how you choose to express your opinion.. cause when people are being demanding towards a person dealing with a serious illness.. and she is not here to defend herself, than sometimes a mirror needs to be put infront of someone.. people nowadays have become far too intittled.. they think they are owed everything and they can and should express their opinion on everything.. well sometimes if you dont have something nice to say keep it to yourself.. I dont have a problem people expressing their opinions nor people reacting negatively towards facts.. but on this forum sometimes, people base their negative comments based on speculation from their side and start making soemthing negative where nobody has a clue of the actual facts .. i would liek celine back as the next person here and going on for years and years .. my mom has a debelitating desease also and i see how she suffers.. maybe thats why i am sensitive to the subject but i just find it unfair .. this is btw not directed at you personally and neither was my previous comment..

I think the Valentine’s Day release made more sense… also with the weather getting nicer here in North America, people don’t want to do indoor activities as much, cabin fever is real at least here on the east coast.

 

I really hope if the reason they moved the release date was because of Celine’s health that she’s doing better and able to do some activities for this, otherwise that February date was much better.

Yeah… and to add insult to injury, the Met Gala is on May 1. Would be such great promo if she was well and able to attend.

 

But when you’re in pain, everything else goes out the window. I can’t work with a minor toothache, can’t imagine trying to focus on anything other than getting well when faced with something like SPS.

Well at this point we know the movie premiere was pushed back so many times that they probably just want it released, but it’s indeed sad that she won’t be able to participate in her big screen debut. This is something we the fans have been waiting for ever since the rumor she would play Maria Callas. I’m sure no one is more bummed than her. Remember her at the Beauty and the Beast premiere? She would have relished every moment of this and probably looked really stunning.

 

I’m sure Sony realizes this but it’s a business for them at the end of the day. Hopefully her cast mates will kick it into full gear this week, but PCJ seems occupied with her new Amazon Prime series. It stinks because I bet if they kept the title as It’s All Coming Back to Me and released it around the time of the TikTok challenge last year it would’ve had a better shot even without Celine helping promote it.

Honestly, from what we know about it, this should probably be a film that just premieres on a streaming platform, not a wide theatrical release. It’s just not the sort of thing that draws people into cinemas these days. Plus the director has historically made cute little relationship-based indie films, the kind that are made for film festivals and streaming; that’s where his audience is. It’s his first wide release I think, so doubt a major studio would entrust him with a big production & marketing budget. My hope is Sony let him do his indie thing and didn’t interfere to much and make this a cheesy Hallmark / Lifetime movie.
