I’m surprised they didn’t shoot promos with Celine like they did with PCJ and Sam right after filming. I think they should have stayed with Valentines Day angle for the premiere instead of going the Mothers Day route, which they’ve clearly now abandoned. Plenty of couples would have gone to see this movie together. I don’t see groups of moms doing the same. Hopefully the two lead stars kick it up a notch these next two weeks on the talk show circuit and social media. Celine is in a supporting role and her music has done the bulk of the promo so far. Agree it would be nice to get a video from her but maybe it’s coming!

Well, anyone who expects more from Love Again’s box office are setting themselves for disappointment. There is not one single rom-com that did bigger numbers than that in the first week. Forget about rom-coms, no comedy movie this year made more than that. ‘8 for Brady’, that has big movie stars and had a respectable budget, did a little more than 4 million. The last “Magic Mike” movie, also with a respectable budget, big Hollywood names, and a history of success in theatre, also did 4 million.

 

If Love Again hit anything around that in first week, we should be happy.

Sony really is doing a lousy job promoting this movie… forget Celine taking part with her Illness but seems like they won’t even promote it with their “healthy” main stars… why are Pryianka and Sam making the rounds yet!?

Ummm the rounds are mostly done the week before premiere.. most interviews happen the week the film opens so relax i actually dont think they are doing a lousy job its everywhere on my socials and saw commercial twice already with articles and interviews

That’s what I though. A short video would be enough, as the Christmas one.

We’re in the middle of the worst era in Céline’s career, not because of her health but because we fans are left on our own devices, without any news or old footage released in the meantime.

I don't mean in that way. Her team could do something. Sony could involve her in many ways where she doesn't need to be present. And most importantly she can record one or two video messages.

She was in denver having treatment to get better right thats what she is so focused on probable maybe docters advised her not to dk stressfull things whiel undergoing thd treatment.. cause might have a negative effect

Hi! Sensitive kid here. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion. However, if you’re a true fan, you wouldn’t bash Celine. She’s currently in the battle of a lifetime to get better so she can sing, for herself and for us. A little compassion goes a long way these days concerning Celine. If you want to bash anyone for lack of promo, bash Sony. They’re calling the shots. Celine doesn’t have to participate, especially if she’s more concerned with treatments and healing, which we should all support. It’d be a different story entirely if her having SPS wasn’t a thing. In short, grow up and show compassion to a woman who’s given us everything and is trying to get back to us. If you can’t do that, there’s the door.

The elephant in the room is that if her health is *that* poor, they have no business letting fans think she’s resuming her tour - ever! If she’s making any improvements in her recovery, then satellite interviews - at the very least - are expected. She’s been in this business for over 40 years, and I don’t believe the woman who has overcome so many obstacles in her career and personal life is incapable of doing a small, virtual press junket (even a taped one).

 

And if she doesn’t do that, I wonder if an announcement about the tour would actually *help* promote the movie, as the media might pick up on the story and mention that while she’s cancelled the tour, you can go see her at the movies. After all, they say no press is bad press…

And you cannot bear that. So I think you choose to disregard the heavy implications, and focus on trivial matters like promotion for a movie - cause if Celine did promotion, it would mean she is doing better. Just my two cents on what I think is going on here.

Good analysis man I myself had difficulty with the acceptance that i might never see her perform live again or that new music wont come anymore and stuff like that soo thats why im excited about what we are getting and hoping that she is feeling better

Knowing myself I would simply make one statement in early June regarding the health update and upcoming tour. And that statement would have been scheduled since December 2022. In the meantime, I would just shut down, focus on my health and treatments. Nothing else. Because at the end of the day, nothing else matters. And fans would have to show understanding for once. It is not as if Celine has shown any signs of unprofessional behaviour ever. 42 years in the business, 27 studio albums, and more concerts than any of her peers. Celine is a fighter and she will do anything in her hands to get well and resume the tour and her recording career. But SPS is no joke, despite all efforts she might never be able to perform again because each SPS case is different. I am still positive but even if the tour is cancelled in the end I know for sure she tried everything. No rush on making an announcement now, if the tour resumes Aug 26 they can announce second half of June. Adele cancelled one day before because she didn't like the stage so I don't know why Celine needs to announce anything so early knowing what she is going through.

At the end of the day I am very well aware of the seriousness of SPS. This is a profession and even if dealing with this Serious illness an update from her regarding her role in the movie is not , in my opinion , undoable. She sat for five minutes explaining her condition and by all accounts gave some implication she was going to be back stating she thought - in her own words - she was on “the road to recovery.” That was almost 6 months ago. And now you are promoting - or supposed to - a movie that the industry is noting - loudly, I might add , with very little attention to marketing. People I know who have see the ads have staid out loud “I thought she was sick ? How can she be doing a movie ?” Clearly some don’t get she did the movie years ago . My point is - the studio and the fans should get an update from her. Is she confined to her bed ? Then let the public know. Regressed? Speak of it but also talk about how much the movie and new material mean to you. It’s all very awkward. And if she does an interview it does not mean she can do concerts that is a risky and totally different situation. But how it’s being handled is a bit off. I suspect things are not good. And of course I wish her the best but if your putting out a product you are wanting the public to consume with their time and money , a brief update is not too much to ask. Unless she’s dead. Now I’m sure y’all will have a field day with this post and call me an apostate 🙄

She’s at an in-patient facility. We do not know what type of treatment she is having. But if she’s staying at a medical facility, it must be invasive. If it’s a stem cell treatment or experimental in nature, it could be risky to do anything more than just focus on that. The stem cell treatment requires flushing out your entire immune system. Which leaves you more open to infection than usual. She made the announcement that she is ill. More information has come out about her illness. If people choose not to read in order to understand where she may be at this present moment, that’s on them. If Sony can have understanding about her condition, then so should the rest of us. “It’s not that hard” is not something that should be said right now, because we truly have absolutely no idea at the end of the day. We are not doctors, and we are not Celine.

Celine will speak when she’s ready, which will be soon…. As we sit today the Tour is set to resume in August and if we go by the standards they’ve going by we are to expect an announcement of some kind by June.

 

I think everyone needs to chill, people say things because as LukeD said, I think it’s some people’s way of coping as fans. I have a hard time believe anyone who isn’t a fan is bored enough to come post in this forum. So let’s just pray for Celine, enjoy the movie and new songs and hope for the best. Some sort of news is on the horizon, I just hope it’s good news.
