Priyanka had leading roles in several successful Bollywood films, so I would not be surprised if the movie is a smash in certain markets. I think they can count on Celine for francophone markets only. I have given up on United States supporting Celine on anything but tours/residencies. Her last Platinum album was in 2007 and last top 10 hit in 1999.

 

Next week will be pivotal to marketing in the states. If the stars are not on late night or day talk I’m gonna be worried .. jimmy Fallon has posted guests up to Wednesday next week and nothing ! I dunno I don’t get good vibes I have no idea what’s happening ?

I apologize for my current country, bad taste in music and bad taste in politicians. I think it’s the water.

 

In all honesty, part of the reason for this is how Sony promotes and pushes Celine here in the US. They aged her as old titanic lady since 1997, then she disappeared for her 2 year hiatus in 2000, and came back without a big tour and instead played Vegas for 5 years which was highly successful and a huge money maker but it kept her hidden in a way even tho Vegas is here in the US lol. Also in 2003 which I must remind people was before social media and smart phones… hiding her even more, unless you went to Vegas and knew she was there, otherwise it was out of sight and out of mind for the general public. But hey, people here may have a very short attention span but they show up to see her live because even those people know she’s a beast live and also one of the very few living legends left.

I think if Celine weren't diagnosed with SPS, and she could have gotten out and promoted this project, this movie and album would have really spoken to a lot of those casual Celine fans in the United States. It's the perfect project for those people who fell in love with Celine back in the 90s. I can see how those fans who loved Celine's music back in the day would not have liked a lot of her recent English albums. But this project is more in line with classic Celine.

 

Hopefully a lot of those people will find their way to this movie and album. I'm still hoping a lot of moms out there get their tickets for Mother's Day weekend!

Not sure how many theatres will be showing it early as when I clicked on the link to see by chance if it was being shown near me and there was ONE option only that was located in Quebec.

Yes mine too, they moved the date up… some movie theaters in Canada are screening the movie starting today. It’s all odd.

This movie is a long Term mover, throughout the years, it will be a classic, please do not expect anything as per the Box Office figures

Everyone of us will be such a pain starting next week for his/ her family, relatives and friends to take them to the movies !

 

If you find out empty theatres...Consider it as your own cinema for 90 minutes and make the best of it!

Perhaps they'll do the promotions around May 5 and after, since it IS being released on May 12 officially for the world. Who knows, but I would that Celine participates in some way, and not stay in silence the whole way of promotion.

Citadel is an Amazon Prime production and they're paying for Priyanka's promo tour so wouldn't want her promoting someone else's movie on her Citadel press junket. And moving up the release date probably didn't help. Maybe Sony had Sam & Priyanka scheduled to do promo over the next 2 weeks, and now that has to be compressed to one. Not ideal by any stretch.

Yes moving up the date ONLY for america didn't help. It collided with a lots of great franchises, Priyanka has her Citadel on calendar, Celine isn't great, also the whole concept of release on Mother's Day has been blocked.

Citadel premieres this Friday (today) and Love Again next Friday let’s hope they begin promoting next week! However, does anyone even promote for a movie that’s released ahead of time? Like after May 5th here in the states.

 

I do wonder why there also wasn’t a more big deal red carpet premiere event for this movie, unless they are planning on doing it next week, even tho parts of Canada are already showing the film as of yesterday. It’s all very odd, I wonder if Sony just really counted on Celine to push this project since she’s under contract with them in ways that the two leads aren’t, she’s their artist I wonder if the illness was the biggest downfall.

I’m curious who did the French dubbing for the film and whether the voice actors all recorded their parts in isolation or if it was at least partially synchronous and they got to read & record with Céline.

I just hope Priyanka & Sam’s on-screen chemistry is better than the bits they filmed for all these Instagram posts — which are supposed to be cute and funny, but are mostly meh (at best) or cringe (at worst).

 

And hopefully you’re right that they’ve filmed other interviews that will air next week in a promo blitzkrieg. I like to see — no, need to see — them promoting the movie in more than one outfit
